i went to a wedding over the weekend and was sitting next to this guy who told me that his company has internships at the end of the year for students in my degree for the 3 month uni break

    it pays $250 a day
and apparently people who do real well, as well as being asked to come back the following year, are given like $20k for the year and once they finish their degree get offered work with a starting salary of like $80k and the opportunity to get promoted within like 2 years and a $250k salary

which can get another $40k just thrown on top if they do well

    mechanical engineering

but its for a mining company that would also take in other engineering fields, such as structural, electrical, and of course mining

i just switched from aeronautical to mechanical last week and it is already showing promise

he also mentioned that the managers in this company are moved to different countries every 5 years or so, which is good if you wanna try living somewhere else

i dont know what that means
you can go into anything now?

here you basically go straight into mech engineering
the only flexibility is first year where you can do engineering subjects from a few different fields and then decide which to do in second year

Biggest difference is if it's adult or children's services. Also if it's helping people you're interested in, or making a difference blah blah blah, don't do it. it turns you into a hateful hateful person.

But it's totally interesting and sometimes you get to do horrible things to horrible people, so, you know :^:

Well, the funny thing is, assuming you're in the UK, it actually isn't enough. To go into social work as a professional vocation, you'll need to do the Masters in Social work which replaced the DipSW a few years ago.
