well, there's two. one with a 50% bump and one with a 100% bump. I'd expect the 100% bump to be an exalted thing, to help leveling up alts., and the 50% one to come earlier.
Precedent says it would require revered or exalted, but also bind on account. Their creedo for this type of stuff has generally been "we want you to do it the right way once, after that we don't really care"
It was added to yesterday's Patch notes for 4.1. Garr's portion of the bindings, as well as a number of other very rare drops from other bosses, is being lowered.
Garr's binding is currently 3-4%. I'm guessing it'll be 1%. They say they want to reflect the true difficulty in obtaining Legendary items.
It's also in a few thread posts on the official forums. At work, can't peruse right now.
•Loot from the creatures Garr, Julak-Doom, Mobus, and Poseidus has been adjusted to be commensurate to their rarity and invested effort.

I don't know why you'd see Garr and 3 completely unrelated bosses and assume it's the bindings they're talking about, especially since Geddon isn't on that list.

... Surely he drops NOTHING else that anyone would care to farm him for. They don't need to mirror the difficulty with both portions of the bindings, making it nigh worthless to farm. Lowering one droprate is enough to make it harder to do. It's generally assumed by those discussing it that, yes, it's the bindings.

Until I see a blue post on the subject, I'm not going to worry about some forum posters in tinfoil hats. There'd be zero reason to nerf the droprate on a vanity item that's already a huge pain in the ass to get.

I would assume since they mention 3 other rare Cataclysm mobs they're referring to the rare-spawn of Garr that spawns in Mt Hyjal and not the MC version of him.
For a minute I thought you guys were talking about Geddon and I was like, "You can't KILL Geddon in Hyjal... I tried!"
I have no shame in that horrible UI.
Is that a chat mod that shows a persons main's name next to the alts name? if so what is it?
Since I have 8 alts in the same guild I use the mod Identity. It's quite handy and easy to use. It's so good I've been telling everyone in my guild with alts to get it so I don't have to look at the roster to see who they are.

And I'm far too lazy to start remembering names.
So what does it do? does it append your main's name to the beginning of whatever you type in guild/party/whatever? Do other people without the mod see the (Main)?
I have 9 characters in the same guild, although it is pretty obvious that it's me.
It automatically types in the name of your character before anything you type. You can see it for Verze(my alt), it always puts Phender(which is my main) before whatever I type.
Can you configure it to only append your main's name in certain channels, like gchat only? I have a banker that probably has pissed off quite a few people and I wouldnt want to give my main away in trade.

Yup. It is fully customizable, you can set it to only display your name in certain channels. You can also set it to display whatever name you want (doesn't have to be your main)
For example I have mine set to a shortened version of my Main's name and it only displays in Guild Chat.

Likewise, I have mine set only to do that for gchat. I don't want random people to know my main's name, for some dumb reason.
Well there was the time that I stole multiple Whiptail herb spawns from someone fighting Uldum crocs and then later saw them in /2 trading a Darkmoon card I needed.
To be fair, I'd rather a bunch of posts like this than what we've got in the past, which is nothing, really. These blogs are welcome, because I'm actually interested in the iteration of their design.
I'm just shocked it took this long for Blizzard to realize that tanks were actively avoiding gear that was heavy in hit/expertise, and if they couldn't, they were reforging out of it.
I'm all for making hit/exp more desirable, but that shield block idea is just plain dumb.
Sure would be nice to have some gear that had hit that I didn't have to sacrifice my survivability for. DPS is one thing, but if I die because I have to balance hit on top of shit then I'm pretty much done tanking. That'll probably be the thing that makes me quit, so, I guess I hope they do it.
As if the defense managing nightmare wasn't enough.

not a doctor, not a lawyer, examples I use may not be fully researched so don't take out of context plz, don't @ me
I gemmed, reforged to reach the exp and hit cap and we got along fine. The guild I am in is 12/12Norm. It wasnt too hard to reach the cap with Heroic gear and raiding gear. I just recently reforged and gemmed out of expertise but im keeping hit until interrupts come of hit. We had a wipe to Maloriak because of a missed interrupt. It doesnt happen too often but there are those crucial ones in there.
I was surprised honestly that most tanks spec out of hit and expertise as there is nothing like a bad string of parries or misses to fuck up something in a fight where you need snap agro.

Yeah, cause now they are ... wait sorry, still horribly inefficient.
And the WoW website...what the fuck?
I was so close to getting Thunderfury... I don't know if I can stomach the extra runs this is going to result in to get the binding.
In other news, caught Ghostcrawler last night. Hits hard.
Added him to my collection of rare pets. So far:
Grimtotem Spirit Wolf (hardest to tame, since it was only present for 5 seconds at a time back in 3.1)
Arcturis
Chromaggus
Ghostcrawler
Trying to think of what to go for next. I've got other rares and unique ones... but I need a new challenge.
Eh? Where are you getting that?

Mobus drops an iLevel 346 BoE Polearm, I know that much

Exactly. Given the other three mobs listed, it's entirely likely they meant this one and not the one in MC.
Fair enough. Never knew that one existed. WoWWiki failed me.

Princess Huhu or any member of the bug trio! I tamed her @ level 80 then immediately died to the stacking poison. Forgot I had Stoneform.

I'm trying to imagine this. All I'm getting is a sharp stabbing pain in the back of my head.

Not everyone is, though.
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
