Thats cool, I just thought it was a Freudian slip like saying something along the lines of: Metroid is an awesome bounty hunter because of her nearly successful systematic genocide of all the Pokemon!
I always remembered the ending because I thought it was that way and Zelda gets relegated to being a macguffin in so many game that I really liked the bad-assness of it.
I mean, it's still cool, particularly since it is a Zelda game and shit like that doesn't happen in Nintendo games typically.
Skyward Sword needs a gold box on release. Nintendo should have done more colored boxes for their games. DKC should have been yellow and Kirby should have been pink.

The colored plastic is extra expensive. That's why they don't do it. Gold is probably even more expensive, since it's gold and these things are dumb that way :P
It made sense for the NES titles because it was a new franchise and the idea was to make them really stand out. I think every gold cart they've done after that has been a collector's edition.

They do sometimes. I'm pretty sure my NSMBWii box is red.

All NSMB Wii boxes are red. Apparently it was to make it stand out on store shelves and I remember reading that they don't want to do different colored boxes for a bunch of other Wii game.

Right, I think the idea behind the different-colored boxes are that the extra sales they generate due to them "standing out" justifies the extra manufacturing cost. Thus, they use the practice sparingly. (that is, games they know are excellent that they really want to draw extra attention to - as opposed to games they know are excellent and will sell insanely well already anyways, like Galaxy)
That being said, I could maybe see them doing it with Zelda. After someone middling opinions of Twilight Princess and a kind of embarrassing e3 demo, they might want to draw some extra attention to Skyward Sword.
A bright, green case would be neat. They could make the insert and the disk gold.
A bright green case?
You can see why they might not wanna do that, right?
Aside from the obvious confusion with a certain competitor which would rule that color scheme right out, the thematic color for Skyward Sword seems to be Sky Blue, like in the logotype. But even that could be misconstrued by elderly buyers-of-games-for-childrens as a blu-ray. Gold seems to be the only way they'd go.

the Xbox 360 green cases aren't exactly the same kind of green that one would associate with Link though. An opaque forest green or whatever shade Link's tunic actually is, wouldn't look the same as the translucent neon Xbox cases. Anyone that would confuse the two is a moron.

Sorry, I'm just reminded of this...
In truth, I have no idea how the colored plastic industry works.

Well, that too. He pretty much wants to bring back his people because he feels guilty of abandoning them. At least that is what I took from it. Aside from that, he is still the same old power hungry madman.
I thought the whole thing with WW was that both Ganon and the King of Hyrule were obsessed with returning the land to the way it was before, but in the end, you couldn't do that without destroying the unique cultures that had blossomed into existence. The past was the past, and the ultimate lesson of the game was that we had to move on.

EDIT: I checked out the link in the video description. That is some serious documentation on glitches in OoT. I wonder how much of it will be possible in OoT 3DS.
I'm one hour into the video and I think I get most of the glitches, but I have no idea why, when he warps to the temple of time, it acts as if he's beaten all the dungeons.
But why did it give him the light arrows? Don't you need to have awakend all the sages for that? The only dungeon he entered at all was the shadow temple.
Got the superslide to Gerudo Valley. Missed 1 superslide over the bridge. RBAd the Medallions so I can get the Light Arrows. Got the light arrows and went to Ganon's Castle.
so in short: fuck if i know
edit: watching that part again, he gives the saw to the guy, you see he has no medallions in the menu. He does the bottle thing with the spiders, and you can see he now has medallions. whatisthisidon'teven
edit2: it appears to be a memory exploit, which is what I suspected it was. Neat!
Illustrious youtube jammer, Jimmy Wong has put together this fancy vid of him and some other youtube video makers rocking out to some classic Zelda tunes. All I could think while watching this was, "yeah, I could do all that too" (except the violin and possibly the drum part for "Ganondorf's Theme"). But that's probably what most musicians will think after watching this. But you know what? We didn't do it and he did.
If you dug this quick little medley, you can go and pick yourself up an mp3 of it here. All proceeds go to a charity of some sort. I dunno... Japan relief maybe? Yeah. That's a good one right to donate to right now. That's probably it.
The Legend of Zelda TRIFORCE Medley!
That worth watching for Ganondorf's Theme alone, which is really awesome, but all of the included songs are quite good really.
So I started playing Twilight Princess on Wii and I have to ask... is the game really supposed to be this ugly?
It's hard to describe it I guess but my lord, there are *INSANE* number of jaggies to the point that it looks like an awful ugly mess that is below like sega CD quality. It is horrific.
I'm playing with component cables, Wii settings set to 480p, on a 60" LG 1080p Plasma.
I love the game, I'm genuinely just curious if this is normal or if my experience is weird

But meh.
Origin: Galedrid - Nintendo: Galedrid/3222-6858-1045
Blizzard: Galedrid#1367 - FFXIV: Galedrid Kingshand
And he does badass deflections for when he blocks them.
I mean, I think they've done gold disc art, maybe, but that's hardly the same, particularly when every disc face is different.
Maybe we'll get a gold 3DS cartridge for Ocarina 3D? Seems unlikely, but...
Incidentally, it's a little strange that they skipped the gold on A Link to the Past, isn't it? Maybe a little less so for the GB/C/A games...

Lack of SNES LttP gold cart always blew my mind as a kid.
Probably because it's spelled incorrectly as Gannon in the first game.
