We already know that she is not a dragon with utter certainty. There was a game called Dragon Age: Origins in which that was made clear. Why are we discussing this?

Oh, and I loved the demo. Power-Flemmeth is fucking awesome. The combat was a hell lot more tuned. I was both happy with the result and sad to realize that moving away from the BG2 paradigm made DA better.

Because in Origins you suppsodely kill her too (if you go that route). That doesn't mean everything is as it seems. She may be a dragon. She may be something we haven't seen yet. I am just saying that she is not what everyone thinks she is (my opinion). Plus I agree with Blackjack it's more of a "don't try to figure me out." I am just going to add to that with "because you can't handle the truth."

Flemeth is a lady who's husband sucked and who's boyfriend also sucked (though i guess the details vary by storyteller)

So she made some deals with demons and now who knows how strong her powers are

Possibly an incredibly dumb question, but.....can I use Scythe, which is a two-handed weapon skill, if I'm not wielding a 2H weapon?

I know I could try this but I've played the demo 10 times already and I need to move on!

Nope. You need a two-handed weapon to use two-handed weapon skills.

That's why I prefaced it, smarty pants. Logic would say that a skill in the 2H tree would require 2H weapon, BUT none of the text (that I saw) said it had to and I checked a couple of wiki's and they had the same info.

I like the theory that Flemeth is the sixth Old God, or at least is possessed thereby. Either way, she's important, and she kicks ass. I hope her outfits keep getting sexier and more creative.

So, someone managed to get into the kiss files (I know), and apparently confirms the bi companions as Isabela and Anders based on the fact that they have kiss files for both genders.

edit: okay I guess Merrill and Fenris' files weren't named? So at least those two are bi. But yeah I doubt they all will be.

What's the scoop on the place to pre-order it in the UK? Normally I don't care about tchotchkes but I love me some Dragons Ages.

From what I can find, the only place with any specific UK pre-order bonus is play.com
    http://www.play.com/Games/PC/4-/18172105/Dragon-Age-2/Product.html?searchstring=Dragon+age+2&searchtype=allproducts&searchsource=0&urlrefer=search

£28.89 with pre-order bonus item "The Amulet of Ashes"

This is the same price as Amazon.co.uk are offering at the moment, but Amazon don't have the bonus item.
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dragon-Age-2-PC-DVD/dp/B003VM8HFE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1298675957&sr=8-2

All of the other bonuses you get for pre-ordering or purchasing a new copy of the game are the same no matter where you buy it http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Downloadable_content_%28Dragon_Age_II%29

A quick search suggests that £28.89 for the PC version is about as cheap as it goes (HMV = Same, The Hut = £29.85, Direct 2 Drive = £29.95, EA Store £34.99,) - I have made an assumption this one is what you are looking for but a quick search on the same sites should also net you Xbox/PS3 if that is your preference.

In other news, the Demo download is currently hovering around 800,000 which is impressive just before the weekend rush.

Possible. Though I do like to think that there is some measure of truth to the story we are told. I think DA:O has three or four variations of the same story. Leliana's version, Morrigans, the codex, and I think there is one more. Each is slightly different, but the basics are the same. Flemeth was possessed by a demon. I'd be kinda disappointed if they did a complete deus ex machina or retcon on the whole story. But I'm sure the truth is much different that what we are told as players, with a few elements slightly the same.

After all, they say the best lies are hidden in truths.

Personally, I don't think it was a traditional demon that we see in game. Maybe something far more rare or perhaps something that's neither ambivalent or nefarious.

I agree with you that there are probably some truths to the legend. However I don't think Flemeth is exactly controlled by the demon she made a deal with. I think it's more similar to the deal Wynne has with her spirit. Where she is "possessed" by the demon, but she's still in complete control.

Not as far as I can see. I'm up to the newest patch on the PC and it still slows down consistently as I play. Restarting fixes, of course.

I would personally recommend a comfortable reclining chair, a firm mousepad, and an HD monitor running at around 2/3 full resolution. You get to lean back, things look just as good and are easy on the eyes, and everything runs somewhat faster.

I have never considered anything like this before, but with everyone talking about who will be in your party, and Bioware actually balancing it pretty well (numbers of classes) I am going to consider who I will have before the game comes out.

I am going to start by who I won't have. Aveline looks really boring and standard, nothing exciting about her really. Sebastion can go fuck himself, arrogant bastard. Whiny sister and brother can stay away as well. That leaves Merrill, Fenris, Anders and Varric, I will see who I pick when I get the game I guess.
