Got my highest Dungeon Raid score this weekend, got a Rogue up to around 13k I think. Like most, I was totally cruising for a little bit and then booooom. Coins to Swords, and whatever kills things next to Coins saved my bacon several times.
I ran into my first Mortal Enemy skulls though. The Thief for the Rogue and the Chaotic for the Warrior. No problems with the Thief, but the Chaotic "can only be damaged by Uppercut".
I'm not even totally sure how to do an Uppercut. I know I was doing it, as I kept getting the "POW! right in the kisser!" achievement points or whatever. But I couldn't do it on purpose. Eventually picked up Spikes and that killed the Chaotic.
And for unlocking, I don't know for a fact but I thought I unlocked the Rogue by killing a Special with Spikes. The message that popped up said something about "killing in less than honorable ways".
Has anyone found a list of all the unlocks for Dungeon Raid? Or are they just random whenever you kill a special?
Unless I've misunderstood the dev posts, you unlock other classes solely through killing special monsters. I believe there is actually a hidden countdown in turns to this occurring, but I'm not 100% on that. I appreciate that I just have to keep playing the game I want to play and then I unlock more stuff without jumping through ridiculous hoops. Edit: In re-reading, I think maybe I missed what you were asking. Are you looking for a list of what the unlocks are? That I'm not sure about.
DR is a ridiculously fun game, and I spent far too much time this weekend playing it. I'm very pleased that there are also plans for some shiny new iPad/Retina graphics at some point in the future as well. That will just catch the graphics up to the already awesome gameplay, and then there are obviously continuous updates as well (with great community interaction, which always makes me happy about buying a game)! Well worth $3. Worth a lot more than that in terms of a ridiculously compelling and addictive gameplay concept, actually.

So I'm at like 32k (my previous top score is around 7k) and I'm doing pretty well. I go to cast Get Potions as XP to clear a path to the special monster that's doing a number on me, but then BAM! I accidentally cast Big Game Hunter instead. Dead in two turns.

I bought Dungeon Raid on the advice from this thread last night at roughly 10pm.
I played for what seemed like a pretty small amount of time. Felt like maybe 45 minutes. I looked at the clock.

When I first noticed the talk about Dungeon Raid, I was very skeptical, screen shots didn't seem very appealing. But after a few pages of people raving I decided it was worth a few $. It is awesome. Very elegant in design, highly recomended.
I'm having a great raid now, which I am jinxing by posting about. 27K and counting. I'm going armor-centric this time: double shields, swords to shields, collect all shields, explosive armor. Combined with 90% armor durability this kicks some serious ass.

It was actually a little bit of both. I like being surprised, but if there's a certain situation I need to keep an eye out on (kill X monsters with X swords in a straight line, for instance) I'd like to know beforehand.
So how do I start leveling up my classes? Do I need to unlock all the classes before I can level up a class?
No, you can level up a class before unlocking all of them (I have a level 2 warrior and a couple of other level 1s but a bunch of blank spots). Based upon other posts in this thread, I believe that you can only level up a class by playing it (so if you want to level up the warrior, play the warrior), and if you want to ensure that you will only unlock new classes instead of levelling up, you just play the adventurer. Edit: Playing a particular class does not guarantee that you will level up that class, though. You may still unlock other classes.
In response to Mr Pink, I haven't heard of any special hoops to unlock any classes. It is my understanding that you simply unlock them all in the same way (by killing bosses which sometimes rewards you with the unlock cup).

Try a masochist-spec halfling, those are great for armour

The Dwarf uppercut's done by tracing an enemy vertically up (i.e. from the tile below it to the tile above), you know you're doing it when you see the little "UPPERCUT" labels over the monster while you're tracing a path, each uppercut enemy takes an extra sword's worth of damage
Are you actually able to "edit" any of the classes in Dungeon Raid? Those screens with all the unlocks and stuff on them are confusing as well... I mean, I haven't managed to move or switch anything around and I see no save button.

You have to level a class up to at least level 3 before you can add new perks. I think the even levels give you skills to swap and odd levels give you perk slots, but I may be mistaken.

Ok, that's what I was trying, but it didn't always seem to want to work. Do you have to start with the Uppercut, or can you have one in the middle of a path? I'm sure I was messing something up. I should try a Dwarf again.
And I can currently only play on my wife's iPhone. I shudder to think how much time I'd lose if those was on my droid. How's that port coming fireflame?
Got a nice message from fireflame, they are currently working on the art to make the App universal, which is good news for my new favorite thing, the new ipad.
I didn't ask him if they making the app layout responsive..... (*hint* *hint*). I was thinking perhaps having a side bar with your stats and gear would be neat to have when in landscape.
So, i have found, not trying really hard to *beat* anything, that I get the best results when I build the biggest lines on the board, almost irregardless of anything, including health pots and armor.

Okay, this is the class selection screen. Each class gets its own customization options; you basically have a saved configuration per class. You can't configure anything at level 1, though. When you click "edit," you get...
...a page that talks about the class and your stats with it. The bottom is another redundant class switcher, just like the one on the previous page. The important bit here is the top, which is a set of tabs (though that's hard to see unless you're looking for it). The row of tiny icons tells you what unlocks at each level of the class.
The second tab shows info about your race. Every race has a bonus and a mortal enemy. Until you level up to 5 in a couple different classes, you can't do any customization here.
The third tab talks about perks and flaws. The first one is fixed for the class. The other three slots start opening up at level 3, and let you add additional perks and flaws chosen from other classes.
The final tab deals with your skills. The big grid lists all the skills that might be offered to you as you level up your character within a raid. Each offering is still a random two skills, but they're selected from this pool. The top left skill is particular to this class.
The little icons at the bottom are skills that you won't ever see in a raid. Starting at level 2, though, you can replace skills in the pool with ones from the bottom list by dragging the new skill over the old one. Again, it's not a guarantee, but it gives you a chance to get that skill on each character level up.
I don't know how you have the patience to play that long on normal. Even if I just get to 700 or 800 turns, it's just so tedious, and it's annoying to have to choose an item or upgrade pretty much every single turn you take.
A game on harder doesn't usually go much past 200 turns, and it gets interesting a lot quicker.
I wonder if upgrades come quicker on higher difficulties.
I love how much this is like an actual roguelike. I picked up Swords>Shields, Collect all Shields, and All new tiles are coins over two level-ups.
The first time I went, Swords to shields, all new coins, then collect all shields I went BOOM instant level. Grabbed all the coins and BOOM instant level. And of course the game gives me about 25 skulls and zero swords and I die in 2-3 turns.
I only ever play Harder, and it does not feel like upgrades come quickly at all.

I installed a copy of "The Legend and the Hero" this afternoon, as it's currently free.
Seems to be an ok little RPG so far; combat is standard turn-based JRPG style, there's a bit of Engrish because of the translation from Chinese, but nothing that's really bothering me.

Thanks for this, although again, I can't help to think that if this new interface was better designed, you shouldn't have had to make that tutorial...
Also, different problem:
I wanted to try one of those combos, so I got teleport, treasure chamber and the gold coin collection skill.
First, I tried to use treasure chamber, then immediately teleport and thought I would be able to get two full screens of coins by then using the collection skill, but all looked normal after I used teleport. I did not end up in a treasure chamber at all.
So, I thought perhaps I needed to wait until next turn, and the next time everything cooled down, I used treasure chamber again, made one move, and then cast teleport, but still, no effect.
How do I get the screens full of gold coins that people are talking about?

Teleport doesn't work with Treasure Chamber (the dev said it had at one point, but it was an unbalanced bug); Treasure Chamber only works with skills that collect tiles without using a turn, like Treasure, Skill Elixir, Repair, Heal, etc. Say you're using Skill Elixir. First, clear out as many non-potions as you can, until there aren't any non-potion moves yet. Then turn on Treasure Chamber. Use Skill Elixir - it'll clear out all the potions, replacing them all with coins. Now collect all the coins in one move (using your 1 turn for Treasure Chamber) - they'll all be replaced with new coins. Collect them too - the new tiles will be normal.
If you have Treasure as well, you can use it after Skill Elixir to get another free screen-full of coins.
So, I'm guessing that since everyone is silent as to the Starcraft clone that it was a bust?

My little brother says it's fun and controls well untill you have a lot of units to select. I didn't have enough space on the phone so I picked up dungeon raid. Big mistake, mInutes have turned into hours.

Oh neat, I had no idea that was out yet.
Ack, why no Game Center?!?!?!
Watch my music videos
God I know. I'm still not sure why game center isn't just standard with all games now
I thought it was good. Multiplayer and all. Simple, but good.
