So, I'm guessing that since everyone is silent as to the Starcraft clone that it was a bust?
A standard RTS is never going to be memorable on iOS. The devices just aren't built for it. Something more creative and targeted, like a variation on Patapon or something, could make waves.
Infinity Blade is the single most amazing cellphone game in the history of anything.
Chews through battery life like a boss though...
It certainly makes most of the rest of the 3D games on the platform look like crappy old PS2 games. I know that this is partly due to the very limited scope of the game, but it still makes me hopeful that we'll be able to see other games with that degree of graphical fidelity.
I've still played 10x more hours of Dungeon Raid, of course.

So since you all wouldn't shut up about it I downloaded Dungeon Raid and now many people in the office are hooked.
It's the only way we feel accomplished now. If we can put together a group of say, 3 or more new Dungeon Raid players, and trace a line connecting them all, we get a little burst of self-satisfaction. For each new player connected, we get a little bonus, but then they become part of the entire group and we're back on the lookout for more potential sequences of newbies.
Great Little War Game is a pretty great Advance Wars simulation. Well worth the 2.99.
I'm having a blast.
The non-HD version is only $1, too. I'd love some more impressions on this one, especially from overly opinionated fans of Advance WaSERVER IS TOO BUSY AT THE MOMENT.

I haven't gotten balls deep into it yet, probably on the 5th mission. The "hints" are nice, but I wish there was a more detailed statsheet that could be presented when making attacks on enemies. But, maybe there is and I just haven't seen it yet. The dialogue is incredibly cheesy but it's very apparent that it's on purpose. If there was multiplayer I'd be jumping up and down.
Don't get me wrong. There are some fun games on the app store, but wow. What an ass. Why do some people who develop games like angry birds suddenly think they're so full of awesome when a couple years ago this would be equal to a crappy little flash game that no one would give a second glance?

I think the greater level of involvement, as opposed to something like cut the rope or tiny wings that I just pick up and play for extremely short periods of time, is why I can't get into it.
It feels like a waste of money.

I made an official thread for Sword & Sworcery that no one else is using. Go post in it. I just finished Session III and I'm waiting for a good stretch of time to go back to playing it. Such a fantastic game.

What's Everyones favorite class in dungeon raid? I kind of like the adventurer right now, I'm getting between 200-600 turns on hard. I've unlocked Mage, rogue? Barbarian assassin and paladin. The paladin has a nice reset (die regain full life) I'm thinking of trying with a heavy vitality build. Still figuring thegame / upgrades/ specials out.

I am having a really hard time levelling up my mage for some reason. Can barely kill the first few special monsters on hard.
My longest game on Harder is 243 turns. I have trouble transitioning from "CLEAR AS MANY TILES AT ONCE AS POSSIBLE" to "Let's think about survival...."

Broke 60k and still going. Honestly it's getting a bit boring, so I figured I'd jinx myself by posting an update.
Some of my equip stuff has really helped out..From the above:
80 Spike Damage
78 Regen
8 Blunting
25% Leech
90% Durability
95% Armor Piercing
The rest I don't really care about.
It's really at the point where I just make whatever clear I feel like, and the skulls mostly kill themselves off before I can get to them. Though, slightly annoyingly, often I'll set up a large clear for the next turn, and a skull will die, moving shit and breaking my line.
Without the spikes, I can no-sword most regular skulls, though that's boring and I never do. It's just that as soon as I touch them, they X out before I get to any of the swords I'm gonna use.
The only thing I'm really afraid of at this point is the guy who puts your durability to 0%, but I have two get out of jail free skills I keep ready for him, and I've started taking luck every level up (+1 health per potion) so I can keep my health up fairly easily if for whatever reason I can't get away.
On to skills, I actually don't really have anything good. I waited a while for something combo-ish to come up, but I ended up with Enchant, Dazzle, Teleport, Exorcise. Teleport and Exorcise to run away from the durability skull. All four are level 10.
I guess we'll see how long I can keep this up now I've shared it with you
I know you guys are on a Dungeon Raid kick, and I'm lttp with Infinity Blade but I have a question.
Is there any benefit/reason, other than "I like it" to keep a piece of equipment after you've mastered it? I have this awesome poison ring, but I've mastered it so its like I'm short changing myself on XP.

Dungeon Raid Lite coming out today if anyone wants to give it a try for free! It's ad-supported and doesn't have character classes or achievements but apart from that the game is the same as the full version.
I pulled myself away from DR long enough to try and buy Hunters (recommended in this thread.) WOW. It's been a while since I have played a tactics game, and it's a fun one! Beautiful on the iPad as well. I can tell it will be addicting.

Hey. Hey, hey, hey. You.
I'm just saying, so take this as you will.. But.. If you had some sort of website, and we could export and upload character sheets and screenshots of our deaths, that would be cool.
Barring that, if you could give us some sort of option to automatically save a screenshot of our death to the photo album, and perhaps a method that would let us save our character sheet in some sort of similar way without having to photoshop screencaps of each item together..
That would be a cool thing. I'm not suggesting any course of action here. I'm just saying, if those thing happened... That might be pretty awesome. Just saying..
Derailing the Dungeon Raid talk, in theory, would anybody besides me get a boner for secret military facilities, sinister 'medical researchers', blasting crowds of zombie dogs with shotguns, and words like 'tactics', 'action points', and 'overwatch'?
I just picked up Tactical Soldier: Undead Rising, which has all of the above. It's a really nice, polygonal-graphic, squad-based tactics game, x-com style. I'm enjoying it far more than i did Hunters (although the latter i didn't purchase, just played the free version) (sorry, Sharp10r!), as the story is moderately interesting, although cliched, whilst the gameplay is very nice- start off with one guy, grab a gun, go through the military base, deeper into the research facility, picking up extra dudes along the way. Generally performance is smooth, although the camera requires management (although it's fully zoom- and rotate-able). Cutscenes are comicbook-style, with art that's... chunky. Not overly pretty, but it does the job.
It's a little 'pricey', if that's what you call 4EUR for such an entertaining game, but is highly recommended!

Also, Dead Space looks amazing. Is it worth it?
Holy crap, this game is going to ruin me.
Wi-Fi connection is completely unrelated to your phone plan.

And I got Dungeon Raid on this thread's recommendation. I'll give it a go and let you know how I like it.
