I'm looking forward to it, I've wanted to play another star control / star flight game for a while and the masters do ur quan only helps so much since I've played it a dozen times now.
Ooooh. I adored Star Flight (and Star Flight 2). Star Command on my iPad2? Yes please.

Has anyone given Chrono Trigger a go on the iPad? How does it hold up all stretched out?
I have the game and I love it. Visually it looks nice and I don't think it suffers at all when stretched out. It's major problem is that the inaccurate way the touch pad movement works can be VERY frustrating at times. It's usually not terrible, but it can be an issue now and again. Otherwise I am enjoying the hell out of the game and it's pretty much classically great Chrono Trigger with the updated translation (which I had not got to see before - so much stuff makes a LOT more sense in proper English).
Also includes a level editor (which I haven't tried) and they seem to be adding the best user-created levels with updates. Pretty good bargain for $0.99/£0.69!
Every year it's the same thing... I forget just how many free apps go up in December and start paying attention halfway through the month. Oh well!
The RPG Fara is free today. Only got to play for a couple minutes thus far, but it's got a charming pixel art style and very tongue in cheek, self-aware, humour. Could be a keeper.
Also, a zombie MMORPG called Please Stay Calm. Dunno 'bout this one.
GTA3 seems to run rather shittily on a 4G Touch. Shame =(
Initially they said it was only going to work with 4S and iPad 2. They obviously made some changes to get it to work across multiple devices, but seems they weren't completely successful.
Venture Towns is very similar to Edo Towns in many ways but I dunno I get a different overall vibe from it. To me, it kind of feels like a cross between Edo Towns and Mega Mall Story.
I will give more impressions later.

I have tried three times to get into Grand Prix Story and it just doesn't click with me.
I just discovered you can hold on OK in FFT to go through conversations.
The stupid part is I remember learning this for other squeenix IP games...
Re: FFT update - The most noticeable thing is all the fonts are MUCH higher res, and there are a number of different fonts for different things now. The target color overlay is more pronounced, and it seems like there's some sort of filter that smooths out a little of the pixelation. Also, there are finally buttons that replicate the set angle switching of the other versions. Falling snow and character portraits are also much higher res.
And most importantly, you can confirm moves by tapping the space instead of OK!
Thanks LaCabra. Wacky racing zombie running over game. I only played the first state a few times so far but the framerate is perfect.
Comments on the game/first stage itself:
- The music is great and fits the game.
- I wish there was a setting to adjust sensitivity on handling. This might just be me but I almost feel it's too sharp.
- There's some misleading arrow turn signs, especially the one after the "bridge" in the first level where you're supposed to turn around the train tracks. The arrows are way in the back in a dead end area where you can get stuck and loose time. Intended?
- There can never be too many games with zombie killing.
I'll try it out more later.
Yo @vagrant_winds, any chance you could check out Vroom with the new patch on your 4S? I'm not 100% sure light shafts are working on there. You should notice if they are. Also, I tweaked the first map a bit to hopefully make that area after the bridge a bit more readable.
Also here are some promo codes for the game urrbody.

So, I got Venture Town.. Started out like the other theme-park-style Kairosoft games for me, where I just start rapidly bleeding money and have no way of getting it back.
But then I discovered that my problem was that I had the wrong mindset. It isn't like other games of this sort where you need to expand as fast as you can. I bulldozed have my businesses, and was soon back in the black. Now my town is growing like crazy!
Moral of the story: Don't try to research and build everything right away, even though it is super tempting!
I might have to go back and try some of the other ones I gave up on, now
My ipod is running really hot while playing FFT after the update. I also got some screen tearing while in a shop, and now it lags when anything remotely intensive happens at the same time text appears, like swordskills. I'm pretty annoyed.

[edit] I mean more-so than Kairosoft's usual?

Well, Sonic's controls consist of "Hold Right and Occasionally Jump" so it stands to reason that it'd be daily workable on a touch screen.
It's a 2D motocross game, reminiscent of various other games, such as this awesome flash game:

(Although the controls are simultaneously less responsivefine-grained and more forgiving that that one.)
Here's a gameplay vid:

Because that game is not coded by SEGA. It's was coded by a fan from a remake project and officially released by SEGA.
His Youtube pitch video to SEGA is available if you Google for it (forgot the dude's name right now).
EDIT: Silly me, all info is available in the Sonic CD thread right here...
I have the new expansions (which are awesome)

i want it SO badly and hearing that the iphone version was updated. . .
A certain individual affiliated with SE told me recently that "it's coming".
I wish they'd also release the GBA versions of FFV and FFVI with some sort of upscale/whatever.

Cool, I've added you now. Haven't got the expansions, getting my head around the base game at the moment.

I'm not getting it, because the reason I haven't got it before is that I don't have enough time rather than I don't want to spend the £0.69, but YMMV!
Groove Coaster is also reduced. (£1.99 -> £0.69)
It's probably the most addicting iPhone/iPad game I've played since Words with Friends: http://appshopper.com/games/jetpack-joyride
