Oh god, Bard's Tale. Brings back memories of asking my parents for a graphic paper notebook so I could map the dungeons, because lulz minimaps in 1987...
Yup, graph paper from old Wine Cellar to temple dungeons. I don't want to replay that old C64 version, must be better in my remembrance than in actuality.

So Fairway Solitaire is actually a lot more awesome than it seems. I would say its about a 9 on the peggle-addictiveness meter. The free dl is worth it just for the hilarious opening cutscene.
Oh shit, they ported Fairway Solitaire to iOS?
OH SHIT.
(p.s. I love that they have a Penny Arcade quote as their publicity line)
I initially got it on Steam because Tycho ranted about it. It's so good on iOS. They have a whole backstory going on with the gopher, and the courses are all broken down into groups, and it's just good so get it immediately.

I'm so behind the times..but I now have an iPhone 4S and can't wait to play all these games everyone is recommending! I'm still trying to decide if I want to spend the money on Final Fantasy Tactics...since it's my favorite game of all time I know I will play it. But having that capability at work seems like a good way to get fired, haha.

Don't get Final Fantasy Tactics first. There are plenty of other fantastic iOS games to suck away your work productivity that you've never played.
Did you buy The Bard's Tale for iOS? Well, whether you buy it now or bought it before, you're going to get the classic Bard's Tale games for free.
Series creator and inXile CEO Brian Fargo hopes for the first update to launch next week. The update will include the 1987 The Bard's Tale. In subsequent updates, which Fargo estimates should roll out in four-week increments, players will get access to The Bard's Tale II and The Bard's Tale III.
The fact that Pokemon Yellow is number 2 on sales is bad enough. Apparently it crashes on load, so it's a total scam.
Apple, how about implementing an actual approval process?
It's funny. Apple started out really vetting every application on the store and was VERY strict. Even rejecting apps that they thought crashed too often. Now that they've loosened up a good bit, stuff like this happens from time to time (still less often than the Android Market, of course), and it's always a giant scandal on the blogs.
Ah, it stinks, it sucks, it's anthropologically unjust

Pretty much no matter what Apple does they'll be a scandal in the blogs.
Even if Apple takes forever to pull the app, won't Nintendo eventually swoop in and claim his entire takings plus damages when they realise how much he has made?

I think Ziggurat is the first game to make me sad over not owning an iOS device. Played it on my friend's iPad and daaaaaaaaayum. Also first fast-paced game more complex than pinball I've played that doesn't need buttons at all.

Looking for what I believe is a iPhone/iPad game I read about a year ago, maybe someone here can make an educated guess from the following meager and hazy memories.
* Artsy story.
* Positive reviews.
* Old school pixel graphics but got praise for being beautiful.
* Screen shot depicting a man with a sword standing on a green hill.
Please note that these are not hard facts, I might and probably remember some of it all wrong.
So is there any reason to keep playing Infinity Blade 1 after beating GK, or should I just move on to IB2?
Very much so. Have you checked out the basement? There are things down there but you're going to need to grind out a lot of cash and buy a certain item before you can get to being squished by them.
Also there's the generation -1 Easter Egg.
Start a new save file and lose to the black knight in the tutorial battle.

Heads up if you're not following the tourney thread:
Hero Academy just released their first big update:
New team: The Dwarves
New map featuring a new teleporter tile
Upgrades to user interface
Auto-resign added for idle players
Balance changes to Elves & Council
My morning experimental Dwarf matches have been hysterical. They seem highly geared toward crystal-destroying strategies, with crazy area damage and extra boosts from powerup tiles. They play completely different than the Elves or Council. Not as good at damaging a single unit, low HP, and no remote resurrection ability. The AoE damage output is ridiculous, though. There's also the unique engineer unit, which has little offensive ability but can shield another unit or crystal to completely negate the next attack they receive.

Ok thanks.
After losing to him, select Save and Restart Castle.
I just got my 4S the other day and picked up IB1 and I am in love. I get annoyed at tapping the bottom right corner to dodge right and having nothing happen, but that's probably because of the screen protector I have. Is IB2 just as fun as the first one? More so? Chair rules, they just need to make Shadow Complex 2 finally.
Also, I can't believe that FFT and Chrono Trigger are actual titles I can buy on my 4S. God damn.

In the settings, I believe you can make the dodge buttons MUCH larger.
Drez - as "small" as it is, the story of IB1 doesn't really conclude until you play through the basement stuff. It's not just extra fluff to ignore and I think it helps tie into IB2 better.

The game itself is so awesome. The iPhone port was plagued by slowdown and other issues, but I've heard they fixed much of that. Not sure about the iPad port.

Indeed. Excellent on iPhone and iPad. Worth every one of the 99 pennies.

Speaking of iOS related retro gaming, my raging arcade nerd excitement for the upcoming Midway Arcade compilation has been tested by reports that some of the games don't translate well to touch controls.
But fuck, APB, Narc, Gauntlet 1 & 2, Arch Rivals, Rampage, Spy Hunter, Joust, Total Carnage and more? It's like my misspent childhood in my pocket!

Hopefully I don't have to keep the newer Bard's Tale installed to play the older ones.
