There was that one panel in Venom's book where Peter and Flash are sitting on the couch and neither knows the other's secret identity. After Flash joined the Secret Avengers, I was looking forward to the discovery.
that yeah the 9/11 comic had some pretty silly and nonsensical stuff if you stopped to think about it for a second
but in the end it was a one-off comic made in mourning and tribute after a horrible thing happened, so who cares if doom being there makes sense or not
I kinda hoped the brief thing with his old roommate would go somewhere. I forget her name.
I wouldn't be surprised if a couple years from now we find out Peter has an illegitimate Spider-baby.
I just read the issue where a drunk Pete gets it on with her.
Now forgive me if this is gross but what is drunk sex with Peter like? The guy has super agility and strength so does that go out the window or would he not be able to hold it back?
Also thought the guy couldn't get drunk easily? Then again I remember he got a cold once or twice and was all messed up.
Isn't Peter immune to the effects of drugs and poisons and shit
I'm pretty sure that I've seen him get drugged before.
Like every other week in the 90s. Everyone seemed to be drugging him. Usually with a gas.
Off the top of my head, Kraven drugged him all the time, and Kraven's kid did too. And I am pretty sure Harry drugged Pete before Harry died in Spectacular.

I finally got a hold of everything I needed up through Superior. I just read the Alpha arc.
Oh boy. Now Marvel has their own little angst pile of a Superboy Prime stewing somewhere. I've been saying that's exactly what they've needed for years now.*
* - I have not said this. Nobody has ever said this. These words have not been uttered.
While it's a pretty all right story, ultimately it doesnt seem like one I want to read (or at least for 8 dollars a month), so I'll probably be dropping it after issue 3.
"Ride or Die?" asked Goku
"Ride or Die" confirmed Dominic Toretto, as they took off to find the Dragon Balls in hopes of reviving their friend Sonic
But I don't think he'll be back because "comic books"
I think he'll be back because this is a story that Slott wanted to tell, and Peter coming back was always the plan
Though the Ghost Pete thing was a bit overdone there
It doesn't have to be in every panel
Hopefully Carlie will solve the mystery and we'll have Peter back in time for the summer event
His presence doesn't really serve a narrative purpose right now. You could remove him from the story altogether and nothing would really change, though maybe it would tighten things up and allow the readers to interpret Ock's behavior for themselves a bit more
I don't mind ghost-Pete as long as I do the mental gymnastics to remind myself that its a metaphor. It was well done as a metaphor. This is way too literal.
I honestly didn't mean it as snarky as it came off, I just was actually laughing that's it's always a "when" bet, never an if bet. And I don't even mind that either, as long as we get good stories from it.
After readings SS#2, it definitely feels like Slott is trying way too hard and pushing the "mad scientist in spider-man's body" angle a little too much. Nothing really felt natural or even distinctly "Doc Ock"-esque, just more "awkward mad scientist trying to get laid."
As someone that was supportive of all of this, Superior is pretty disappointing to me so far. I loved that first issue of Superior era Avenging, but that felt like a completely different Spock. This is just awkward so far.
If anything I think the fact that it's brought up so much is a testament to how truly an awful an idea this all is.
Yes people constantly complaining about comic books is so unheard of.
This is different. At least in my book.
For example, when Batman and Captain America died and were replaced? People weren't only interested in their replacements, they were genuinely looking forward to reading those stories to the point that when it was time for Bruce Wayne and Steve Rogers to come back, fans were torn on who they wanted to take up the mantle.
This situation, on the other hand, is a case where people had two different reactions to the end of ASM #700:
1) This is stupid
2) I guess I'll give this a try
And now that the book is actually out, no one really seems to be loving Superior Spider-Man. They're buying it because they always buy Spider-Man or because it's something to read or because they know that Peter Parker will be back before the next movie hits the big screen.
I think Superior is perfectly fine so far, especially after issue 2 made it pretty clear that we are getting Peter back sometime relatively soon.
Although the "Crazy town banana-pants" stuff was horrible. Scott typically writes good banter but that sounds like a catchphrase for a shitty Nick cartoon.
I didn't like this issue as much as the first one (which I actually liked a lot)
But I did find it funny in the sense of reading it with all the people freaking out that this was going to lead to doc Spidey banging MJ in the back of my head.
Spock is more of a stereotype trapped in peter's body than a real character. I'm surprised he hasn't decided to grow out a mustache to twirl or take time to laugh maniacally to himself.

Now that we have SpOck....

Or puts holographic lenses on his eyeballs.
No, for serious! Mysterio is third in line for the Sorcerer Supreme because of his mastery of that mystical art.

Going to keep it in my pull.

so about 25 issues, worst case
Fantastic Four changed to FF for like 12 issues.
Also who says when that plot line gets resolved that it will change back from Superior?
My money is on Pete being back within the year
But I don't think he'll be back because "comic books"
I think he'll be back because this is a story that Slott wanted to tell, and Peter coming back was always the plan
This is something that gets said like once a week.
Its not clever and it doesn't say about the comics industry what you think it does.

Except the thing that gets brought up is "haha Spider-man "died" but we all know he's coming back"
It has nothing to do with the story as its told.
For example, when Batman and Captain America died and were replaced? People weren't only interested in their replacements, they were genuinely looking forward to reading those stories to the point that when it was time for Bruce Wayne and Steve Rogers to come back, fans were torn on who they wanted to take up the mantle.

I'm enjoying it myself and buying it because of that reason. If I wasn't, I just would drop it until Peter returned (like many seemed to be doing).
Although the "Crazy town banana-pants" stuff was horrible. Scott typically writes good banter but that sounds like a catchphrase for a shitty Nick cartoon.

Honestly there was too much Peter in this issue.
