Just started the download. Given the thread's activity today and that it's now creeping into post school/work time zones, I suspect I will see you fine fellows tomorrow at the earliest. Godpseed, all of you!
Guys... I need to be brutally honest with you all.
I'm not willing to play on a server that keeps up queues. Its not worth it to me to wait half an hour every night to log in. I would rather solo on a low pop server. If these queues don't clear up soon I may just do that.

I wouldn't jump the gun yet. The servers will no doubt sort themselves out within time.

Yeah, it is kind of hilarious how badly they seem to have anticipated the headstart to go though, apparently they've added 12+ servers since the headstart launched, they're all full but 4, which are high, and it's not prime time playing hours yet

I'm not but I'm also going to roll an Alt/second main on a non-queued server. If Faeblight doesn't turn itself around I will simply ditch my old toon until it does or until they open up character transfers.
That said, is it too much to ask for someone to pick a LOW pop RPPVE/PVE server as our backup, queue-less guild? Like I said, I will roll solo if needed but I'd rather play with the other people that can't get into Fae.

to be honest I wonder if any mmo is ready for headstarts. Even wow didn't anticipate the amount of people entering, resulting in massive queues.
Trion should be proud though. I mean, isn't this only there 2nd game? And already it looks like its a commercial success.

I don't understand this.
Why are you insisting on trying to make a long term decision based on purely temporary conditions?
You don't choose to not live in a neighborhood because it rained on the day you took the house tour.

Wait, what?
I'm going to roll my Warrior somewhere else. It may as well be a different server since she was going to be Guardian anyway. I was never going to devote myself solely to my Cleric, I was planning on running at least two toons regardless of the server problems.
Right now I'm gaining a place in the queue every few minutes and I'm just under position 600. At this rate I will be sitting here all day waiting to play on a character that's had only a couple hours of investment. If things calm down on Fae tomorrow I will come back, if not I will play my Warrior.
I never put all my eggs in one basket.

WoW also, I would argue, screwed up worse... they knew exactly how many people would be joining at launch because they only had a certain number ready. It was at least a couple weeks before we saw more copies come in stock.
Also, I think its a little silly to assume this is a temporary condition.
To the day the launch servers on WoW are the highest populated with the longest queues. Once people roll with their friends and guilds on a server they never want to abandon it. It seems reasonable for me to wish to avoid committing myself to a server that obviously already has enough of a population to kick the queues into the triple digits on CE headstart day.
Keep one thing in mind Sparser, Trion has the capability to boost the capacity of any server with a bit of techy fiddling. Running blade servers, they can allocate more power for a single shard easier.
How about this, if you want to play now go play on a new server. When the servers ease up a bit from the initial rush you can return to the decided upon server or just move on.
People coming onto Faeblight, either do one of two things. /join PennyArcade to hop into the PA channel so we can invite you like that, or do /who Knights of Arcadia and ask mostly anyone you see to invite.
Anyone know if you can cancel the queue to mess with settings without losing your place?
Nope.
God dammit.
yeah, you cant do this and it pisses me off
I was alt-tabbing back and forth while waiting in queue and I accidentally hit my enter key while Rift was active, which canceled my queuing. I immediately re-queued and found myself +600 in line.
Has ANYONE heard about these Green Foreground elements and a pure black background?! The game is completely unplayable, even if there weren't massive queues.
I have a GTX 460.
There has been no Driver releases, and I've been trying to fix this permanently for about 2 weeks. It used to be that restarting my comp would fix it, but now nothing does.
I was playing fine before the most recent beta patch, but now nothing seems to work.
I don't suppose there's any way to change a character's appearance after you've made them, is there?

Wow, I ended up being able to get the game. Logged in 1000+ Queue. Hoe-Lee-Shiznat. That is one hella queue. But hell almost all the servers are full. So I'll just chill for a bit and see how it goes.
Didn't someone mention changing resolution a few pages back? Did that work?
I missed that, and will try it. I came back a few times after that post, but didn't follow all the way through the rest of the stuff. I'm frustrated so I haven't read much.
Any word on the queues? Is it the players playing that are queued? Players creating characters?
If there's a queue for Faeblight for instance of 4 hours, should I even bother to wait? Will the queue reliably fall off? What's their plan for the future? How will they address the plethora of people like myself who want to play with others on a particular server?

Oh hey me too.
It must have messed up the ETA because it went from 3:45 to 27 minutes.

Even if you get in the starter zone is a nightmare of tons of people doing the same quest.
Heh yea... my queue went from 360 in line to 900. I'm not getting back in again for a while.

Problem, Queue-fficer?
Wouldn't be so bad if there wasn't a commercial for the damn game every five minutes. Seriously game, why you gotta be like that?
