Can I rogue tank without lots of end gear? I want a tank role but not an extra set of gear, I'm talking dungeons and rifts here.

Switching roles and gear at the same time:
This has been asked a few times, so here's a quick and dirty explanation:
/saveequip followed by a number will save your current equipment set as that number (ie: /saveequip 1)
/loadequip followed by a number will equip the set you have saved under the respective number (ie: /loadequip 1)
/role followed by a number will switch to the role designated by that number
So, just save each of your equipment sets under its own number, and your macro could look something like this:
/loadequip 1
/role 1
and
/loadequip 2
/role 2
Voila! You could even add a /wait command afterwards to then automatically cast certain buffs, so you won't forget. Like, for example, throwing up your assassin poisons when switching to your assassin build. (
('/cast Rainbow Blade Dance' will cast your epic Rainbow Blade Dance ability.)
After trying Inq/Cabal/(something) during the beta, I switched to Shaman/Justicar/0Warden for the headstart. At first, I was wtfraping mobs, but now that I'm in the late teens, stuff seems to take forever to die. On the flip side, I'm nigh unkillable, which is good considering how absurdly large the aggro radius is in this game.
I've been sword-and-boarding it so far, but I'm wondering if I should switch to a 2h mace (keep in mind I main Shaman).

Can someone recommend a single target dungeon healing spec (cleric). I tried the HOT soul as a main and got some complaints from the tank, so I'm guessing that's not a good one? Should I run purifier main instead? HALP!
Keep in mind I can't get to the soul builder from here, so just tell me which soul I should main and why.
Thanks!
I ran a Warden/Purifier/xx during the beta, and had no problem at all with keeping the tank and everyone alive. Do you have a build i could look at ?
Wardens shouldn't have any troubles for dungeons.
Warden/Purifier eh? I'll try it.
Right now I have my 2nd role set to Purifier/something.
I see they are opening the new servers an hour before the existing servers come back up.
That's a pretty good idea.
Actually it's horrible. Players that have been part of the headstart will artificially inflate the population of the new servers and then leave in an hour when their regular server opens up. What Trion should have done is open the headstart servers first, but disallow character creation unless you already have a character on that server. Then open up the new servers.

Roger. Some of the Mouths ran RoTF last night. Also, don't forget to run and grab the other faction's puzzle rewards.
What's a puzzle reward?
There are puzzles in the world, generally one/zone. When you solve them, you get a nice piece of equip and an achievement. The puzzles are hidden. The one in Freemarch, for example is located:
If you look at the map and swim just under the "L" in "Lake of Solace," you'll find it.
Pretty fun little feature that rewards exploration.

2h mace for sure bro. Put 11pts in Justicar for reparation, then everything else into shaman for a good while. Rage of the north is goddamn ridiculous. Once you get the shaman silence, maybe move into druid for the damage talents, or whatever else you want.

I highly doubt that everyone from headstart is going to go roll on the new servers just to play for an hour.

Cool, thanks. I solo mostly so I don't think Reparation is gonna help me any, but thanks for the tip!

This. Why would you create a new character to trudge through the newbie zones again, only to leave and never come back?
What I'm worried about is that they have opened up far too many new servers. They've looked at their pre-order numbers and said, "Oh man! We're going to be seeing another half million new accounts on launch!" That's just stupid. Go look at the server status right now. Almost every single new server is Low.
I'd wait and see the server pops today during prime time.
Theoretically, most people are at work or in school right now.
Theoretically, most people were at work or school on the day head start launched, yet there were multi-hour queues seconds after 1PM EST. I just don't think many people are buying this game today. I'm not saying it's not a great game, but if you had any inkling of interest in Rift, why wouldn't you have pre-ordered with the shit load of fantastic opportunities over the past several weeks?
"Hmm, I wanna try this Rift game, but I don't want to plop $5 down to get beta access and head start. I think I'll wait until launch day and just pay full price."
Yeah im not really seeing why they opened so many new servers. Most everyone who wanted in right away is already in. Anybody else joining is likely to be doing so thanks to there friends and are going to want to be on the same servers as them.

I'm not really saying one way or the other at this point, though I do agree most people who want to play Rift no doubt pre-ordered and took part in the head start.

It's good in public raids though so it's not too bad although yes solo wise you won't see any help. so if you are contributing in other manners to public raids you could skip reparation. I'd say you would want minimum 8 points so you have Armor of Virtue maxed at 5/5 for the additional armor increase and then 3/3 life's devotion. That's pretty good from a solo perspective.
If you put 10 points in you get Mein of Honor though which reduces threat (solo, who cares) but you increase healing thru salvation by 50%. So there is that tradeoff.
but yeah, I'd opinion at least 8 pts justicar for the self heals and then whatever you want from shaman.

...because there's no such thing as an impulse buy? Head Start people were motivated, ergo, queues. Release people? They're going to buy it as they get off work/school. Either way, we'll know in a few hours.

Alright, back to theory crafting. I'm going to rebuild to Assassin/Rift for the combo point healing (30% on 5 points plus another 30% of that).

Eh, I don't consider MMO purchases the same way I consider other video game purchases. The nature of the game means it's more of an "investment" of your time, so you're going to look into the game a lot more than you would any other game you'd pick up on release because it got great reviews.
I'm not saying no one is going to buy this game that hasn't already, but 31 new servers? I'm hoping for the best, but I'm worried. We'll see.
Edit: Looks like the servers are filling out a bit. Nyx is starting to queue. Nyx? Come on, Trion. Nyx? You gotta stop making one or two server names three hundred times cooler sounding than the rest. "Where do I want to roll? Asphodel? or Nyx?"
If you put 10 points in you get Mein of Honor though which reduces threat (solo, who cares) but you increase healing thru salvation by 50%. So there is that tradeoff.
This boosts Doctrines too, which is rad, since Bliss is one hot shit soloin' heal.

Pretty much. and by 28 you should have ... 37 points to spend?
that means by 28 you've got not only those 10 points in just happening, but you also get Favored by Venir which I don't know if it effects self heals or not (extra 10% to heals received), galcial shield for absorption, 4% mana return on crit hits and a 10 second Maelstrom hit + Avalanche Strike.
Man, pair that with a reaver going full bore on dot aoe's and omg... the pure rain of numbers... excuse me I think I need a change of pants.

Yeah, let's give Trion the benefit of the doubt for now.
I really don't see them pulling a "WAR" on this one.
...as they hire WAR's old community manager to work on Rift.
Well I don't think the community manager was the one who had any say in the "let's get 100000 servers at launch cause we are HUUUUUUUUGE" debacle.
No I know, just pointing out that they've pulled from WAR's cast-offs. Which is like digging through a dumpster after the homeless have had their pick.
No, I kid. But not really. The guy was actually vacant for the majority of his career at WAR, boasting a post count to the tune of a baker's dozen in the months before he left. Volunteer forum mods started writing letters to Mythic to voice player concerns about the game. While the guy they hired to do that... did apparently nothing. But maybe he was stifled by the higher ups and wasn't allowed to say shit. Wouldn't surprise me, knowing how EA-Mythic turned out.
...as they hire WAR's old community manager to work on Rift.
Didn't bother to look up whether this is a joke or fact, but it reminded me of the CO community manager who MASSIVELY screwed up when they were launching the Vibora Bay zone. He "moved on to pursue other interests" shortly after, basically canned for being a complete moron. He was nice in some ways, but he was absolutely terrible at his job and I can comfortably claim that his actions led to a significant loss of subscribers for Cryptic, losses that for once they didn't actually earn.
Anyways, point is, guess what his next job was? DCUO community manager.
Only thought that went through my head when I read that was "jesus fucking christ do the hiring managers at these companies even do a fucking google search before hiring?"
