Yup. Every new server is at low pop. After all the headstart servers came up, all the new servers immediately dropped to Low Pop.
It's also midday, on a weekday. I'd wait until Friday primetime to start calling doom and gloom

Btw, am I the only one who absolutely loves the music in this?
The dynamic fight music is awesome and epic and my absolute favourite track so far is the "Stonefield Theme" for a lack of better name. It has some awesome, sombre drums and a chorus in it. Fits the atmosphere of the zone perfectly.
Yeah, anyone who works normal hours or is in school would be busy right now. Plus colleges that are on quarter systems are busy getting ready for finals.
so this may have been covered earlier in the thread, but
is "Forces of the Plane of Death" bugged? it's the one that requires you to seal 8 death rifts... i've sealed 4 so far, and haven't gotten credit for any of them

Have you sealed them solo/in a pre-made group or did you just join a public group that was already there?

public group. i did most of them while in a public group that roamed around sealing untouched rifts, and didn't get credit for them.

I think it's kinda the same like it was with the bosses. You actually need to "tag" the Rift yourself or with your group. It might be a quest you can't do in a raid.

If Trion were smart, they'd fill up these servers over the next week, see where populations are at, while announcing incoming transfers from High/Full pop servers at the end of that week.
Offer free transfers for individuals and guilds to any select lower pop servers. Designate two of them PvP RP and two PvE RP. They have enough people to shift populations about and optimize them if they are willing. Designate another two Oceanic/PacRim servers. That'd easily take some load off of some of the head start servers.

i'd go with "not doable in a raid" though!
that's dumb as hell and i don't like it
I agree. I'm sure they'll fix it if you report it!
@Flippr: Play whatever strikes your fancy. People just play the Riftblade cause it's all "OMG WTF!" damage and people love to be leet uber damag0rs.
That would be the first quest I've heard of that you couldn't complete in a raid.
While we're on the topic, I've been quite pleased with this little improvement over WoW. It's like they realized that Rifts and Invasions would encourage people to spend a lot of time in large raids, so they said "let's not allow some small potential for faster leveling get in the way of encouraging participation in these awesome things that should be a key selling point of this game." Freakin' brilliant.

For those having trouble with their UI: be careful how you're snapping elements. If you snap your warfront element to your rift meter element, for example, it's going to fuck up. The warfront element won't know where to go because the rift element doesn't exist at all times.
Instead, have each element ultimately snapped to another down the chain. So, raid to your minimap, and warfront to the raid. That way, both elements are effectively snapped to your minimap.
I was thinking of rolling a warrior, but everyone is playing that rift-something soul, and i dont want that.
Are the other souls underwhelming or something? Paladins dont interest me either
Paragon is single-target, and it's a LOT of damage, but it has no way to close in quickly unless you use champion secondary for bull rush.
Champion is good at smashing everything in sight.
Beastmaster sucks at everything and should be removed from the game.
Riftblade is just ridiculous damage, melee or at ranged, and very high AoE. In a dungeon, it can be unpredictable, so if your group relies on CC, you'll get yelled at.

That's what I'm doing. Paragon main with Champion second, primarily for bull rush (which is super fucking rad). I only have 4 or 5 points in Champion right now, but I think I'm going to add a 6th so I get the aoe strike ability. 1 or 2 mobs attack and I'm fine, but 3 is a bitch when I have to take them down 1 at a time and I don't have any heal skills.
I don't know if this has been posted yet or not, but I have fallen in love with this rogue build for questing/rifting. It kills fairly large groups of mobs pretty efficiently. The only thing it's not good for is killing elites, but I have a Marksman/Ranger/Sab build to help with that. Though, I do need to respec it to get a better pet, since my pet is currently stuck at level 30, which doesn't work so well any more. >_>
Does anyone understand how rift contribution works, contribution referring to the gold/silver/copper ratings? I haven't done a ton of testing, but it appears that playing as Inquisitor I'm much better off just spamming my instant cast dot even if I don't need to than actually trying to dps which seems kind of fucked up.

Evidence suggests that you may be right, and that the contribution system may currently suck ass.

Awww, Beastmaster sucks? That's a shame to hear. There are so few melee pet classes in MMOs. It's one of my favorite archetypes, and the last game I got to play it in was WAR with my White Lion, although seeing how White Lions ended up I guess it's not that surprising that Beastmasters aren't doing too well.
There's nothing so terrible about BM that you can't use it in your build. At least for leveling.
The pet adds good damage, can off-tank an add, and when up adds some decent group buffs from your branch abilities. The self-heal high in the tree and the 31pt heal both need work, and the pet needs to scale a little better in the 40+ game, to make it competative, but its terrific for solo or small teams.
In groups you can use a spec that won't use it (trade it in for Warlord for group support/buffage).

I love how everyone demonizes RP servers when I haven't seen a SINGLE word of RP on ours yet.
I love how everyone demonizes RP servers when I haven't seen a SINGLE word of RP on ours yet.
Only RP I've seen was when I went exploring and found some folks chatting at a lighthouse on an island that you had to swim thru fatigue to get to. Sadly, no puzzle or artifact there, nor was it 'deeprun tram' level stuff.
Otherwise, it's been fairly normal, aside from seemingly fewer morons in chat. Except guild chat. Plenty of goosery there :P

I was doing that. Mainly though is as a cleric my single target damage sucks balls and can NOT compete with other classes that are mainlining damage.
So I think its actually good that I can spam dots to assist with the raid and get contribution. Do I get gold a lot? No, unless there is a LOT of area damage going on that I can heal. So from my perspective I think the way this works is good. However, if someone hasn't noticed this they I can see where they'd think contribution is lacking for them given the context of how they are trying to contribute.
But also remember, that bar drops if you aren't actively doing damage / heals too. I dunno if they'll get feedback to do better but right now to compete with builds that do area affect by default I'm glad I have the option to spam instant cast dots and compete with contribution status (so to speak).
Just my .02 though, as always.

So how are the end-game rifts? Are we seeing apocalyptic, town destroying monsters come out of them? Or is it the mild to no challenge presented by areas around the Free Marches?

This is one of my major complaints - when on my marksman, and I'm channeling one of my cast shots, I can visibly watch my progress bar begin to slide down. Then the shot hits (its usually a finisher or higher dmg shot) and it bumps back up, but I feel like I lost ground for doing nothing wrong. It seems like your contribution shouldn't decrease that easily (i can understand it not increasing, but it shouldn't plummet that fast).
At the same time, the rifts are often being zerged, so it is possible that in that 1.5s cast time enough dmg/healing/whatever was done by other players that I effectively did drop that much....
