Record Stores in Boston

So, I'm going to PAX East this year and I'll be arriving a few days early.

Since I'm going to have some time to kill, I'm going to want to shop around for some records. The only issue is, I'm not sure where I would be able to find a good source of vinyl records in town.

So I guess my question is, where are the good places to shop for records in Boston? I'll be pretty much in and around the convention location for my whole trip, so anything close to there is a plus.

Someone else will have to provide names, but I think the most well known places are around Central Square in Cambridge, by the various rock clubs like the Middle East.

Newbury comics carries both, I believe.

They do. Stopped in there the last time I was up in Boston -- pretty decent place. There's also some pretty good places to eat on that street.

Newbury Comics is pretty good, though some locations are better than others, but the OP makes it clear he's looking for Vinyl and probably wants to go crate digging, not just pick up the latest LP from Southern Lord or whatever.

I just googled "record stores cambridge, ma" and got this link: http://www.laventure.net/tourist/cambridge.htm

I've been to Cheapo Records and Twisted Village. Cheapo was definitely more my vibe, with old psyche and jazz records.

Oh, and it seems that Twisted Village is now just an online store.
Stupid internet, you killed the little guys!

In Harvard you have both a pretty large Newbury Comics and In Your Ear. There may be more in the area hiding about. I haven't stepped into In Your Ear for, honestly, a decade but there are those two pretty close together.

Best shops I've seen are around harvard square and that one near newbury st. in the back bay (sorry, don't have an address, but pretty sure it's on Boylston near the comic shop).

    Sorry - Comm. Ave - http://www.nuggetsrecords.com/

Cambridge is a much better bet though.
