Her facial features don't fit her entire body. Why does she have huge tits, huge ass, huge thighs, huge head, tiny lips and eyes.

If the art team is going to give her a crazy hot body, please, don't skimp on the face. Every time I talk to her in the game now I'll have a reason to stare at her boobs. There's not much reason to look at her goofy face.

I'll be the first to say that I think the female form in DA:O was grossly misinterpreted. But I'm not sure if fixing the body in spite of the face in a game whose story involves a great deal of talking to your party was a good plan.

And I'm just curious, have any of the developers/artists at Bioware's Dragon Age studio actually seen a woman before? Or are they just going by what they've heard?

I realize part of this post is "Hey look I'm a giant dick", but I think what you are missing is how the characters may intentionally be less than perfect 10's. Isabella has some assets that may be .... overdeveloped, but I don't find her face goofy at all. It could be more slick/polished/perfect looking, but lots of women don't have the full pouty lips which you seem to think is a defect.

So she has big tits, that doesn't mean she is intended to be "crazy hot".

I agree she could have fuller lips (you mentioned tiny mouth tiny eyes), I think her eyes are fine though.

Here's my gripe and I'll drop it after this:

This is what my roommate and I do for a living. We draw characters. He has a far more extensive background in art anatomy than I do, but I'm no slouch. I know how things should look. Her mouth isn't just small in terms of "Oh, well maybe that's just the way she looks." It's not proportionally correct. It's narrow to a fault. I'm not talking about the fullness of the lips, either. With her jaw and neck the size that they are, her mouth should be wider. How does she eat? Pellets? Poor thing!

Well, everyone else seems to be thrilled with the improvement so my argument is falling on deaf ears. Thus, I'll drop it. I accept that I'm in the minority, here.

So, I'm super late on this train, sorry to interrupt any DA2 discussion. I just picked up DA1 the ultimate edition off steam, and am super excited to get started. I see there's some suggested mods in the OP. I don't usually mod my games much at all, are there any that you'd consider totally essential to a good experience on a first-time playthrough?

I actually found the first time to be the worst, because I had no freaking clue it was going to happen and got insanely confused as to how to advance in that section. The second time I finished it pretty damn quickly because I knew everything. The third time I used the Skip the Fade mod.

Perhaps you're right, but those shots I picked show a tiny girl with some assets that look like they'd cause serious back problems.

There's still the issue of the mini-mouth. It's distracting...

You know, Oddfish, it is possible that the image you posted is from an old build and/or from one of Varric's exaggeration scenes. We know from the demo that cut scenes do occur during those scenes, and if he's umm...emphasizing...the features of everyone, then it would explain the picture.

There is a possibility that it won't turn out the way your pic shows (and god I hope so because it just looks strange).

Oh, Pancake, you're smart enough to recognize hyperbole, don't be a smartass!

Anyhow, I understand smallish mouths exist and the human face can look a million different ways. I draw them daily. There are some natural variations, though, that come from facial structure and musculature. If you have a narrow jaw with a small chin you will likely have a small mouth. But there's a difference between a small mouth and perpetual sour-lemon face.

Bioware employees even mentioned having to address some facial animation issues that were affecting the facial proportions and causing weird spasms. I'm hoping those screens are "before shots".
