Using an external HFS drive on a Boot Camp'd MacBook
My girlfriend's MacBook has been Boot Camp'd and works great, although we've just tried using her external drive on it for the first time. It works, the Windows side can see it and access files, but for some reason it doesn't have permission to create folders or files on the drive.
If you want to be able to write to HFS from Windows you will need to pay for the functionality (HFS+ or Macdrive). BootCamp included a read-capable HFS driver for Windows, but no write.
Oh hey, bootcamp and external drives.... I might have a similar problem
I've got an external drive (NTFS) that can be read when I boot to Mac (obviously can't write), but isn't/can't be assigned a drive letter when I'm in bootcamp on XP SP3. I can go into drive manager and assign it a drive, but it half-discards this as soon as I try to explore the external drive. In My Computer I can hit the back button and access the drive, but it doesn't handle long filenames if I try to move anything to it(which it should) and won't keep a drive letter. I can also access it via my web browser, and access it by the drive letter that doesn't show up anywhere else.
Google hasn't turned up good information for me... all I've gotten is results for how to install XP onto an external drive, which is not what I want to do at all.

Anyone heard or had this problem before?
