Yes!, I can do the aerial combos now, I figured out I'm not suppose to be starting the combo once up with my opponent, but to instead start it while heading up.
so if I'm doing an M M H S. Launch then hit up then M to start my combo right after and I wont whiff the last S or the H S. (Same thing with wolverine, I had to hit the L going up or I would whiff the S)
-questions- still regarding some mission mode
Chun li's Half Circle fireball H (add H for crumple) seems to be fairly random for me.. If I mash H it sometimes comes out, but I cant get it consistent enough.
I cant seem to do her Jump cancel either, It will whiff, or I'll get a Spinning bird kick (same with Ammy's jump cancel, I'm not really sure how I'm suppose to execute it.
and last, Assist timing for some missions are driving me nuts.. Ill hit the assist when I'm suppose to, but If I continue with the mission it seems to fail on the next step and start over.
Biz. I can do one rep of that Zero corner combo. With only one go at it, the damage gets to 352,900 before the Hyper. I can't seem to time it right to get more than one in there.
Yeah, it's not a loop per se. You can only do it once.
If you do it PERFECTLY, you can get 400k before the hypers start .

I can never hit the running start low OTG in She-Hulk combos. It makes me feel retarded because I'm pretty sure its a basic thing.
For She Hulk combos you have to delay your air MMHS both in starting the first M and slightly in finishing with the last S (usually, just depends on your height in relation to the other character at that point). If you do the aerial part right, you can pretty easily land and do runner's start to her OTG. Further, you can let the opponent air recover and potentially use her command air grab for a whole combo reset if they recovered wrong.
I like x-factor. Watching the ranbat streams, x-factor gives the players a legitimate means to punish slip ups and take the game back. Meanwhile, their opponent still has the advantage and wins most of the time. I don't like how it supports some players more than others as anchor, but Justin Wong was using it in his wolvie rushdown early to wipe out his opponent before they even got to use it on their anchor. ^_^
Makes it interesting to watch at least.
I noticed clockwork needs to improve a bit on his Ammy and Doom. He's great with both, and his Doom is pretty damned flawless. I just notice him getting Ammy caught in the sword version of the dive kick a bit, and usually when he gets Ammy caught Doom also get's punished. That's usually how he ends up on Phoenix without enough meter, when it happens. I think his Ammy could get even better and become a real nightmare.
Watching Floe and Justin Wong in the final was very amusing. I generally dislike Floe for his character picks and play style. Nothing original or fancy to set him apart, just strong characters, with strong move sets, using strong assists in the most typical way. Watching him play is like watching someone corner camp with a power weapon in an FPS. It was very satisfying watching Justin mirror his team and just take him to town like he did.
Also, both having Phoenix as an anchor just as a glaring tribute to how much better Clockwork plays the Phoenix team. He must have laughed so much watching the matchups as they both sat on five meter not daring to use super, and then having no clue how to use Phoenix.
Ranbats beats anything on cable tv wensdays, that's for damn sure.
And there's still moves of his I get hit with every once in awhile that I've never seen.
My brother and I both end up with Dante when we do randoms sometimes and both of us are shameless in our admission that, though we both have at the very least an elementary grasp of fighting game strategies, when it comes to Dante we just hit as many buttons as we can as fast as we can. This usually results in a win.
Dante has low health, though, so he's really not all that frustrating to fight.
Dante feels like the new Cable to me. As though the developers went out of their way to explore every new mechanic several times over with this one character because dammit, he's just really cool. As a result he has an answer for absolutely every situation but ultimately his threat level is based on the skill level of the person playing him. I've played some Dantes that were clearly just rolling their face on the buttons and praying something hit, and just as many that new precisely what they were doing and made me lament my inferior blocking skills.
Still running Ryu/IronMan/Dormammu though. Closest thing I can get to the "flow" I used to have with Cyclops/IronMan/Venom in MvC2.
Does anyone else enjoy it when an opponent does a level 3 X-factor and you just completely outmanuever them and they can't land a hit. It's maybe one of my favorite parts of the game. "Oh hey you're really scary" (jump around the screen avoiding XF3) *20 sec later* "OK, My Turn!"
I figured out his basic combos and ways to get in pretty fast. He's got some interesting stuff, but once you actually know it, blocking it is much easier.
So far, most Dante's haven't been able to do shit to me. Granted, most of them probably weren't that great either. I know Biz used to play him, so maybe he knows more about it than me.

Meh, hey...just because you don't want to run into someone while they're using win button mode doesn't make you a bad person.

Eh, I wasn't great with Dante. I didn't know the best ways to maximize his teleport at the time. He is very good just because of how many moves and variety he has. I am so glad his health is low or he'd be a true beast.

Some of the combos you can pull off with Dante are just stylin'
Honestly, I would say the main problem with Dante is that he doesn't really excel in any area.
Like he doesn't have any weaknesses, but he isn't the best at anything.
Pretty much a jack of all trades character.
That and his combos, for as long as they go on, don't amount to a lot of damage in the end.
I remember when this ace dante player was playing against Floe' Haggar in one of those tournaments and he pulled off an amazing, creative combo that had to have numbered in the 50s/60s mark.
Then Floe gets a hold of him with Haggar and does a 14 hit combo that does more damage than that.
First event (and only I quickly saw) - Beat Arcade with a health handicap.
Personally, I love this shit. I love attempting these types of things - its what kept me involved in the original Soul Calibur and Soul Calibur 2 so long.
Cant wait to dive in.

I'd strongly, strongly have to disagree with that. Cable was one helluva crutch character whose sole claim to fame was his insanely overpowered air super. Even compared to Sentinel, Cable's strategy was pretty supremely simple to learn. Cable, to me, is one of the most brainless characters in MvC2.
Dante, on the other hand, is a pretty complex character with a ton of vulnerabilities and ways to draw in opponents or cover himself. He can be played in a lot of ways, none of which are Cable's strategy of standing back and chucking shit until he can hit you with a triple-super combo. And because of Dante's lower health and low damage, doing major damage to an opponent takes a lot of work from him.
I'm quite pleased that I haven't seen anything in MvC3 even remotely approaching how Cable played in MvC2. Sentinel before the nerf didn't even begin to scratch the surface of that level of aggravation and unbalance.

Now I take my PS3 to show my friends this, and that's not going to end well either.
Also, I got hate mail about my connection. I should have sent him U MAD.
Good times
For this I want you all to pay attention to hulks shadow on his victory screen. Your welcome for being able to unsee that.
At some point I'll stop thinking in SF4 terms, and learn how to block in this game. Also, stop hitting L+S reflexively when I'm thinking throw.
so if I'm doing an M M H S. Launch then hit up then M to start my combo right after and I wont whiff the last S or the H S. (Same thing with wolverine, I had to hit the L going up or I would whiff the S)

I ran into a Sent as point / Morrigan / Phoenix team tonight.
Second fight he managed to Dark Phoenix and tagged her out, but I had killed Sent.
So I wounded Morrigan, tagged in Wesker, and proceeded to teleport away for 40 seconds. He eventually got frustrated and hard tagged in Dark Phoenix.
Wesker attacks, dead Dark Phoenix, snicker. Made sure to put the shades on during the winscreen.
I got hatemail for it. It's weird, I actually welcome it in this game.

I've found that once Arthur is down, I have a decent shot of winning as long as I don't give Task a chance to XFC 3.
Still trying to figure out ways to dismantle his Arthur though.
