I actually have yet to see one single Ammy player actually try to switch up their weapons. I've used her for maybe twenty minutes, but I still know the capability is there.
As near as I can tell, every Ammy player I've come across thinks they can win the game by just spamming her ground attack over and over again with almost no variation. Such a waste.
You're playing really bad ammy players then.
Ammy probably has the one of the better low and overhead game.

It would be very helpful if people in ranbats who are not already friends of the metafriend would do so.
I don't really understand the problem with reverse DPs. I mean, I think it's dumb to map a command to that unless every other option is already taken, but if you can do a DP from player 1 and player 2 sides, you can do a reverse DP.
Something handy I found, which maybe everyone already knows: Akuma can reversal fireball super to beat Hyper Sentinel Force. Only the fireball version, the beam will get stuffed. Useful for when they're trying to chip you out and you don't have enough meter for the demon. Watch out for DHCs and XFCs, of course.

I had somebody go off on me via a text message because I had three characters to his one X-factored Sentinel and won by not rushing him. He also insisted that playing Hulk was the exact same thing as playing Sentinel.
There are people on Live for whom it would be physically impossible to build a short enough bus to express how stupid they are. On the upside, it's also a great system for making you feel better about yourself because there are people with so little meaning in their lives as to flip out and send you angry mail because Youtube didn't teach them how to win perfectly and easily every time.
And the thing with the reverse DP stuff is that it is, as far as I know, completely unnecessary. An attack which moves you forward should not require a backward motion, especially when QCB and HCF are completely unused on a character. It's just wholly counterintuitive plus being an inexplicable and terrible design choice.
Alright, gonna change the format up to accommodated numbers and also it's what chaos said to do and he has much more experience in this than me.
You will play people on the list, but play it 2 up and 2 down (2 people above and 2 people below you on the list). For example, 3 will play 1, 2, 5, 6. 1 will play 10, 9, 2, 3. Then, top 4 will be put into a 4 man bracket. Once they've entered this bracket they will earn a point, and one point for each win in the bracket.
If this works out it will be the format of how we do things from now on.
It will be thursday 9 pm est. If the time is still not to your liking, it's your last chance say so and try to change it.
The list. Make sure that you have added all the names to your PSN list.

Had some decent matches with Fig, slowly learning some do's and don'ts along the way. I even won a couple of matches until he decided to be a cock-nose and bust out an unstoppable Zero combo.
By far the most infuriating thing about that game, since I can find no way of avoiding it, nor can I replicate it on my own.
Also, I'm going to have to make it a personal rule that I will not play with anyone who doesn't use a mic. Bad enough that I can't have a conversation with the other guy, but in this game I need all the tips and feedback I can so I can get better.
Good games Professor Snugglesworth. I heard almost nothing you said though since I put my mic away while I was still playing SFIV and I don't really know where it is anymore.
I'm probably out of RanBats for tonight. Not feeling 100%.
Yes I'm a scrub. I've being screwing around for the past few days and can't master anyone else. I wish Venom was in this game, he was the best. I generally suck at fighters.
man, why did the character i like have to be the one whose higher-damage BnB combo relies on a link after the OTG
fucking wesker
Which combo are you trying to do?
L > M > H xx qcf+L, dash, df.H, link to c.M > H > S > jump > M > M > H > S > df.H
the H after the c.M might not be there. having trouble dashing in time to df.H, and the link can be tricky to land.
i was trying L M H xx qcf+M, dash, c.M H S air combo, but i couldn't get the c.M to hit most of the time, and if i dashed earlier i would get the teleport, or would just not dash (too soon) if i used the doubletap forward.

I wish Random would have stopped giving me Sent. Hate that guy.
Quick tips for you:
Pushblock. You would do an okay job of defending against Zero early on in my pressure, but the harder I got on you the easier it was for me to get in. Pushblock the first LMH rep and then counter with a super (preferably one with start-up invul).
Watch out for traps, unsafe offense. In that last set it became pretty easy to bait you into Haggar's assist. After all the rush down I just sort of stood back and waited for you to come to me. Be aware of your opponent's assists. Don't start something you can't stop/call out an assist for pressure if I've got Haggar loaded and ready to go.
Watch your spam. I didn't punish it, but you did like three Spider-Man uppercuts from a body length away one of those matches. Even more-so with Super Skrull. If I was using Haggar during your Super Skrull matches I would have just lariat spammed my way to victory.
Know what to cancel, when. You get trigger happy. On the subject of Skrull, you would often cancel before the last hit of tenderizer. That's free damage your missing out on.
Yes I'm a scrub. I've being screwing around for the past few days and can't master anyone else. I wish Venom was in this game, he was the best. I generally suck at fighters.
What system are you playing on? Could be good getting some matches online seeing that we're in the same state.
Zero and Ammy suffer from the same problem to me: both rely heavily on being able to get their combos started on the ground. Zero has a pretty good overhead he can work from, but that ground capability also tends to leave Ammy and Zero players REALLY exposed due to predictability. Probably the biggest thing hurting Zero, though, is just that his combos don't pack that much kick to them. Sure, you can do some neat stuff with his clone and X-factor, but it makes him a lot harder to use really effectively.
I think the three weapons helps mitigate Ammy's predictability a fair bit. I generally swap it up if someone starts getting wise.
Or switch to the celestial whip and bitch-slap them around It's so much fun :P
That whip just pisses people off so fast. I love it.
The other move I've gotten down is Super Skrull's stretch grab that travels almost all the way across the screen. That also pisses people off when you do it three times in a row.
I haven't developed a go-to team yet. I'm just having a blast taking it online and playing random teams with my mates, which really helps you learn the overall systems and figure out new ways of using a character.
This game is so bizarre. I have like a 50% record and then I'll get faced up against a guy thats like 199 and 25 or something and he doesn't push block or do more than like a 3-4 hit combo.

Nothing pisses people off more than Wesker's gun + teleporting. You use that strategy in X-Factor and you can easily wipe out 2 of the opponent's characters. I love it.

Keep in mind that there are a HUGE number of fairly scrub players out there. And by "scrub", I mean really scrub since they're just people who spam stuff they saw on the internet and the inexperienced have a tough time dealing with it.
Right now, somebody with an excellent record has likely just played a lot of games. It doesn't actually tell you anything about whether they're any good. In my personal experience, I come across one fairly good player every 20-30 ranked games. Most of the people I've come across with insanely good records are one-trick ponies who can't handle any sort of adaptation from opponents.

see now i was landing that part by itself with nooo problem all the time earlier
now i am whiffing it constantly and i have no idea why.
So my Wesker/Dante/Chris (or Deadpool when the mood hits me) combo is working quite nicely. I might use it during Ranbats tonight. Speaking of which, how does that start, again? You know, for someone who's never done a ranbats before?

Pretty much you'll jump on IRC (details in the first post) and once Hat finalizes the list he'll post it either here or there telling you to go up against the people he tells you to (usually the two people above and below you on the final list). First person to win three games wins your set. You'll keep track of your wins and losses by round and then report them to Hat at the end of your fights.

Cool, thanks.
EDIT: So, I can use the web client to report match scores since I'm "super uncool" right?
What are the best team combination to get the "Copy This!", "Duty and Deus Ex Machina", "Fate of the Satsui no Hadou ", etc. trophies as quickly as possible?
I'm also asking for a cohort that wants to do this on the PS3. My tag is my sig. If you add me, please say you're from here so I don't think you're one of the many people who destroyed me match after match and now wants a punching bag.

Although it IS fun to use Arthur to break people open and THEN do my cheap-o, easy air counter combo things.
