    Yeah, Seguer played me a few times and showed me a few of the popular TvT cheeses, so now I'm confident I can hold off rushes like that.

    One of these days though, I'll look forward to those cheeses, as it'll mean an instant-win for me. :D

    rank 1 bronze means you've played a lot of games but just suck so badly that you can't improve at all even after that many games.

    at least at rank 20-80 with few games played you haven't RULED OUT being promoted.

    I know that portrait farmers wont really have a good MMR, as after 2k games they're not promoted

    However, let's say I'm beating a smurf who is in bronze, but was JUST demoted: Does it give me MMR credit for defeating a bronze leaguer, or will it actually inflate my win ratio because of what his standing USED to be?

    if his mmr is tanked to the point where the system demotes him to bronze, it thinks he's bronze.

    You get points based on their league and points, not their MMR.

    While I was re-climbing to diamond I was always strongly favoured vs the high diamonds (and getting uber points)

    Deciding whether or not you're favoured is done by comparing your MMR to their displayed rating, and the same calculation is done for them, their MMR to your displayed rating. This is why its possible for both players to be favoured in the same game, or whether its possible for one player to be favoured and the other to see it as even, etc.

    The aim is to make your displayed points go towards your MMR. If you're playing a lot of games where your opponent is favoured, it means your MMR is higher than your displayed rating and the system is trying to give you games where you'll gain a lot of points for wins so that your displayed rating climbs quickly.

    i dont know why you would expand cross-map as protoss vs a terran going bio

    their army is MORE mobile than yours, you expand cross map vs a mech terran not a bio terran

    its such a risky play thoguh

    you're relying on that DT map control and it just isn't reliable.

    taking that main as your third, sure, but as your second? I don't like it. Its too risky. If he was going phoenix I'd think it was a fantastic idea as Phoenix give map control guaranteed, but DTs aren't guaranteed.

    I still don't see how Pheonix is viable vs Terran.

    Marines can shoot air.

    You can't deal with marines (on a huge scale) until Collosi or Storm.

    How is that meant to help you?

    They are a lot faster than marines, can fly, kill isolated groups of marines very quickly, and give constant scouting ability at all times. In short, they're almost as good as mutas.
