He's exhibited a long and terrible pattern of being a skeevy shitlord, and if involving the law is what it takes to get him to quit sexually harassing and threatening people, than fine. Do it. Because those are illegal things. The First Amendment is not a magical thing that allows you to be an absolute fuckhead to someone to the point where you're saying "oooh I'll see you at the convention, sweet cheeks it'll be fun," or saying that a person should be raped because rape is awesome and bitch probably deserves it. That there are people willing to step up to the plate for fuckbags like this on the defense of "free speech, man!!!" is fucking awful. Straight up. And people won't forget by next Wednesday because I'm sure everyone involved with bringing this shitbag to light are going to be pilloried by assholes that think shit like this is okay and should be encouraged.
God. People wonder why women don't want to read comics. They seriously wonder.
Well other than Bloodshot (which just didnt grab me), I have been hooked on the other 3. so I will buy the first issues of Shadowman and Eternal Warrior no question.
Archer and Armstrong really has become one of my favorites right now. So awesome.

I want to read comics, but I don't want to deal with dudes like that
And I don't want to read comics that sound like they were written by misogynists
The original Eternal Warrior from Valiant was an Archer and Armstrong spin-off (he was Armstrong's brother). Hopefully Van Lente will be writing this too. The first 2 issues of Archer and Armstrong have been SO good.

Things are getting better overall, I think!
I mean, look at you guys, you're all rad
I appreciate you hanging around these forums, Quoth!
Archer and Armstrong is TinTin for people who have beards and like Rachel Maddow.
...I love it.
I'm afraid if they do a spinoff, though, I might fall overboard and have to read all the Valiant books.
Is X-O Manowar really good? Really? How good can a book about a viking in a space suit that fights ninjas, that is taken entirely seriously, actually be?
Harbinger looks alright, though. What's that one about?
And I'm tempted to give Shadowman a shot just to see if it can wash away my memories of Shadowman 64.

Dude, Shadowman 64 was one of the best games on the N64 - it was the PS2 sequel that sucked.
OK, so, uh, I assume all of the shitty things this guy was claiming various comic writers said in his tweets documented on the Bleeding Cool page are not really things they said?
I mean, this dude is clearly a scumbag but I really hope Waid, Simone etc would would not be so tacky and disgusting. Just clarifying here.
Of course not. Man, what the fuck of course not. Why would you even think that?
Harbinger looks alright, though. What's that one about?
You know the movie Chronicle? Kind of like that, mixed with the X-Men.
Dude has powers, but is also rapidly cracking up, and possibly on the path to supervillainy. Meanwhile, he's at a school for similarly gifted youngsters, run by a corporate magnate who uses his wealth to influence the world in positive ways.
I'm enjoying it so far, and it seems like it can only get more interesting as it goes on.

Welp, Eternal Warrior is a spin-off from Archer and Armstrong.
Dude is Armstrong's brother, and is first showing up in issue 5 of Archer and Armstrong.

I didn't. In fact, if you read my post, I explicitly said my assumption was that it wasn't true.

Actually Eternal Warrior first appeared in a cameo in the past portion of XO Manowar #1, and of course was part of the flashbacks in issue 1 of A&A.
oh and for Harbinger, one of the characters appearing soon is Zephyr. The blonde in this picture. and she is a main character in that series.
Something you almost never see in comics... female supers that dont look like porn stars.
But one thing to keep in mind is that in the Valiant Universe... everything is connected.
XO introduces the Vine into the universe (an alien Spider-like race that has infiltrated humanity for centuries, and is now in all levels of power throughout the world).
Archer and Armstrong introduces the 3 immortal brothers, Aram (Armstrong now), Gilad (the Eternal Warrior), and Ivar (Timewalker), who are key characters, and also the 1%. a Group of people in power who are searching for the pieces of an ancient device that caused the great cataclysm that wiped out the brothers race, which Armstrong scattered around the world.
Bloodshot has a definite spy/mercenary movie feel to it, but has some sci-fi elements going. Im honestly not reading this one.

Dark Knight Strikes Again worked because it was unusual to see a haggard Batman at the end of his rope, struggling against impossible odds and his own failing body.
And even Spider-Man, who's generally down on his luck, still found himself in a new situation in Reign thanks to his advanced age and the fact that his city had passed him by.
But Daredevil constantly ends up in those situations, and it's hard to imagine a situation worse than when his junkie love interest sold him out and the Kingpin destroyed his life. And even if you could imagine something worse than that, why would you want to? What merit could there be in taking things a step further and actually showing Murdock get killed?
Personally, I'd rather see a future that goes in a different direction and reveals something about the character that we couldn't see within normal continuity.

This is a nice article that might be overlooked by DC's reboot helping the industry, as Image's sales growth has been higher than Marvel's.
This should really be pushed by Image because they have had the best comics in years being put out, and look to be in an even greater position in the coming months.
The comic market continued its remarkable run through 2012 in August with sales of periodical comics soaring 19.27% above sales in August of 2011 and graphic novels up nearly 15% in a similar year-to-year comparison according to figures released today by Diamond Comic Distributors. For the first eight months of 2012 comic book sales are up a remarkable 20.51% over the same period in 2011, while graphic novel sales have posted a 14.13% gain. So far in 2012 the combined sales of comics and graphic novels have posted a blistering 18.41% boost over the same period in 2011.
Stuff like this makes me very hopeful for the future of comics.
Man, I always kind of forget that Jeff Smith is still making comics, until I see RASL on the sales charts. I know it ships infrequently, but that seems like something that people should be talking about.
Nice to see Hawkeye and Gambit debut pretty strongly. The Valiant books are also holding their own. Saga and Fatale continue to perform really well, for independent books.
On the other hand, it's a bummer to see X-Treme X-Men and Dark Avengers in the sales slum.
Really, Jeff Parker's whole career trajectory, sort of depresses me. He's a guy who consistently puts out high-quality work, but it seems like nothing he does, ever catches fire the way it deserves to. Maybe because he keeps working in the same pool of characters, with constant relaunches and reboots used to momentarily keep floundering series afloat. And now he's writing a Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off mini.
It feels like one of those things that happens, right before you start writing Public Domain Superhero #13, for Dynamite.
Like, why not give him Avenging Spider-Man, which continues to enjoy consistent sales, despite Marvel's awful handling of the title. He can use all those C-list characters he writes so well, but with Spider-Man there to prop up the book.
Daredevil: Reign or Daredevil: The Man Without Fear Strikes Again?
My complaints about Spider-man reign are numerous. Had the story starred daredevil (with obvious modifications) I probably would not have been bothered by the blatant DKR rip off vibe though.
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.

I have no idea who Eternal Warrior is but then I have a vague memory of most of Valiant stuff now that you mention it I will have to go dig it out and now look who he was in the XO book
I skipped the bloodshot reboot because I remember a computer running a hive like city and it made and controled bloodshot

Don't worry. This doesn't change anything. People will forget by next Wednesday.
