I just last picked a ranged carry in ranked and did reasonably well. That was just because we were lacking a ranged carry however. I even managed to do ok against a 1750 Pantheon. Shaco however, kicked my ass It is very rare that you make it to last pick without a carry though, I would have much prefered to play Taric. The ability to run in and chip away 200 health from a tower is invaluable though.

I love Udyr's adaptability. Ran up against a team with high defense and low damage. So after I build my Aegis I bought two BF swords and proceeded to destroy their tanks with delicious Tiger death with mega lifesteal. Also towers died.

Is he better serving the team in lane or in jungle? Seems like his lane sustainability would be high because of his passive, and jungling seems to be on the way out with the tower pushing madness lately

He can do fine in the lane but he is a monster at jungling so I'd say jungle unless you want to play him and your team already has a jungler.

Didn't think the damage increase would outweigh the utility of w but that makes sense. Also looking at the skills it also scales the best , interesting.
the utility of W doesn't go up when you level it, just the damage and cooldown
the snare duration is the same from 1 to 5, pretty sure
the damage is nice, of course, but LASERBIRD's slow increases as well as it's damage when you level it, which is why most people do R>E>Q>W with 1 point in W early for combo

Wow the minion changes are not fun at all. Guess I'm done for a while.
Also I took some advice to watch some streams and had some 2200 guy start trolling his team because he was pissed off the ashe wanted to solo mid (he was Jarvan and he let his morgana lane mate get pushed hard because he was just wondering around being a dick because "ashe needed to learn a lesson because he shouldn't last pick solo mid ashe" or some elitest BS. The team would have actually won had he not been a giant dick and streamed it for the whole internet.
This was hotshotgg, in case anyone was wondering. Pretty sure his team won it anyway, but it was a pathetic display of nerd rage.
Guinsoo already commented about it on the forums that they are monitoring the minion changes and may change them. I kinda got the feeling that they like it the way it is now , so I don't expect them to reverse it completely .
Man, playing some sort of crazy pusher reminds me of playing pyro in TF2. You just want to tell your teammates "Don't come with me. I'm going to go do crazy shit which I can get away from if I'm alone but we'll both definitely die if I have to try to protect you too."
Most people seem to get it when a Nidalee or Yi or TF goes off on their own, but sometimes you get a caster or whatever with no escapes be like I WANNA COME TOO!

it is very easy to torment someone in the laning phase (HEH) down to 300 health or so then EQWF (ignite) them
even just ignite + torment can get a kill at level 4 or 5
level W or Q after depending on the way you swing

I felt that the reduced cooldown really helps. But I imagine the damage from E would outweigh that once I get some more practice.
