is there a good way to incorporate individual songs into my musical collection
so, i would not say i am 'completionist' or anything, but i am pretty anal about my music collection. full albums, consistent titling, uniform size and quality album covers, et cetera
my current (tenuous) position is 'if i only like one song by the band, i'll just listen to it on youtube occasionally'
but that gets old quick, and i don't have those songs on my ipod
i guess i'm not sure what is the more palatable option in terms of getting individual tracks (top 40 music or classic rock one hit wonders or whatever) into my collection without totally breaking the symmetry and consistency that, for some reason, i adore
should i just give them 'classic rock' as an album artist so they're all together when i scan my itunes library
The best way I've found is to add a bunch of singles you want, and in iTunes check the "compilation" box, or whatever is there. That way you can create your "Classic Rock" album, but the individual tracks should retain their respective artist information.
