Realized that I just saved the day-care dude last night, and that means I can breed my pokes now! I plan on making some eggs of the Archen I got last night (Naughty nature, but no Everstone to make it stick yet) and my Oshawott. Obviously I don't have prime breeding mates yet, but if someone wants an egg or hatchling of either, let me know. I know I'd like the other starters and Zorua (and maybe the other fossil too) at some point, but I'm not going to be picky - I'll post tonight when I'm on and I've got some eggs.
How is this bad at all? It's awesome. Raising lowbie pokemon, or dedicated support mons like pickup-ers, was always a needless pain in the ass.
The fact that they tried to outright stop the solo Pokémon playthrough but leave this backdoor in is kind of what gets me. On the other hand, I fully realize that it's REALLY, REALLY nice to have this available. Now, if someone could remind me, are EVs given to Pokémon wearing Exp Share (was it ever like this, I forget)?

If a Pokémon wears the XP share, it gets the full share of EVs from the battle along with the Pokémon that actually battled.
End-game though it's much, much more efficient to slap a Power <item>/Macho Brace on the 'mon, infect it with Pokérus, and let it lead, then switch out on turn one.

The IV part of breeding has always been the part I find most confusing.
Edit: My mind, it is blown. So where do I get an everstone and I should catch 20 Ditto?
Half of all Boldores have an ever stone. Use either compoundeyes to increase that number or frisk to find the ones that do, and use thief or just catch them to get a whole stock.
Cool, I'll get an everstone and then begin catching crazy amounts of Ditto

I definitely added any friend codes that show up on like the last 10 pages. Is there a limit to the number you can enter?
The second I get to Victory Road I'm replacing Samurott with Deino. It's odd, this is the first gen (since the original R&B) that I have no real desire to use the starter. Feels weird.
I wouldn't mind trying to make some room for the Fire/Bug moth, it's supposed to be quite nasty. Not sure where that room would come from, however -- possibly replace my Golurk.
Not sure what's a good moveset for Pawniard. Night Slash / Iron Head / Swords Dance... Embargo?

Thunder Wave can help compensate for its "meh" speed. If you want something to take on those fighting types, Aerial Ace can be used too.
Edit: Ooh! I just thought - if you'd like you can trade it to me, and I can teach it Rock Polish for you?

would a shell bell be a not retarded item on bouffalant?
it sounded like a good way to keep it alive somewhat between it's meh speed and all the recoil damage but I've never really used a shell bell so I'm unsure of it's viability

I've never really found a reason to go for a shell bell over leftovers. I guess if you had already slapped leftovers on someone than shell bell could work, but I've never noticed the healing to be that great.
Someone more mathematically minded might correct this with exact statistics though.

yeah that's the problem. I'm down to 1 leftovers again since we couldn't transfer over items, and tangrowth has it unless there's something better tangrowth could be using
my mentality was that bouffalant would be dealing huge damage with reckless + head charge/wild charge, and since shell bell heals for 1/8th damage dealt (or at least that's what I thought it was), it would be roughly the same

Shell Bell really helps dampen recoil considering some people like to play the item clause and you can't just give everyone leftovers.
I use it on my Arcanine (Flare Blitz/Wild Charge/Close Combat/Extreme Speed) at least until I can get a Choice Band/Scarf for it, it really dampens the recoil because, much like Bouffalant, Arcanine hits pretty hard so Shell Bell can reap a lot of benefit from large chunks disappearing from enemy health. It's not going to be a full recovery from the recoil, but like, 50% of the recoil damage will be healed through. That's my experience anyway.
Pssssshh. Stick a Life Orb on him I say and call him Chargin' Bill the Bouffalant. Spend that life like you won the lottery!

Yeeeeeah, on second thoughts, if you're running with Bouffalant, you'll want Reckless over Sap Sipper anyway, and Leftovers/Shell Bell won't dent that extra recoil damage Reckless brings. So, just go with Life Orb for extra damage or (better yet in my opinion) a Choice Scarf to help its godawful speed.
The music in this game is sooooo good. Also I what is up with all the low level pokes running around in late game / secret areas. It is a bit ridicolous to keep fighting/running away from level 12 pokes once you got surf.
By the way, here's a map of the Abyssal Ruins for the front page (taken directly from PokeWikia, which obviously took it from another Japanese source if that's okay) in case people were wondering about the underwater maze.

I think you're going to be disappointed by Galvantula. Sure it has a great moveset, and CompoundEyes Thunder hurts a lot, but try Accelgor. It has 10 more HP, and a little more Special Attack, but about 40 more speed. It looks phenomenal.
Edit: That's just my opinion, Galvantula has a lot going for it too, and looks awesome.

if I did another life orb I'd have a really glass cannon oriented team, and a scarf would leave me with 3 choice item users + I dunno if I want him locked into a move when 3 of those moves can be beat by immunities. (wild charge/head charge/earthquake)
alternatively I can just bring in my hariyama to scare off the dark types that would want to pick a fight with golurk/alakazam, and with thick fat, fire/ice types after tangrowth/golurk
