I probably wont be on til later tonight, and thanks for even offering.

Also I have some questions about my soul build? Is Assassin, Blade dancer, Rift stalker good? And should I focus on two at first and then mix in the third?

Basically, yeah, points go into the main soul and the secondary. Rift is a fun 0 pointer for the teleport.

YMMV, of course, but once you get up in levels a bit, you might put some points in that third soul.

For instance, once I hit 44 in Chloro, I'll be putting points into my 3rd soul.

Actually I was thinking of Bladedancer being my third soul.

I like the extra survivability from Rift stalker as a second.

Hey, try whatever you feel like. It's super cheap to respec at any time, and your second role (basically a second set of talents) is only 30g. Which you'll have by level 4. I've probably respecced.... 115 times on my level 49 Rogue.

RE: Bard healing concerns after patch
That is correct... All AoE healing runs under a Smart Healing system. Meaning the players who need the heals most receive them first, instead of healing players with higher HP.

We are also doing quite a bit of raid testing on both Greenscale and River of Souls on PTS to ensure the group healing changes improve the challange of these raids without trivializing certian class combos. People are still using bards quite a bit, and I suggest you head on over and check them out.

    -Gersh

I didn't know AOE heals targeted the lowest HP players.

Oh yeah, that's what smart healing was supposed to do. I've seen it when I'd use healing breath and it'd target the two lowest bars.

The downside I've seen is that sometimes it registers the lowest before other heals land so sometimes I've had healing apply to a target that his bar had jumped to full before I saw my heal go off. In parties this isn't common unless you have a lot of healing running, but you see more in raids with the large amount of aoe healing going on.

    From my experience anyways.

Yeah uh the best way to gear up looks like to bring 12-13 people to a raid rift. Our guild has done so well on those. If you are lucky you can get three drops, if not you can get two, The gear is a little better than the T2 gear and you can get epic essences from that. I highly reccomend any guild that has level 50's to do this. Also you can do expert rifts with 6-7 people quite easily. Also the raid rifts are fun as hell.

I don't know where it is if you are guardian but as a defiant, if you go to the room past the manufactory, in the college of planar studies room, there are different rift faction quatermasters that sell husks for 250 planarite. You have to be at least decorated with the different factions to buy the expert rifts and Honored to get the raid rifts. You combine the husk with 5 malformed souls to create an expert rift and the raid husk with 10 corrupted souls for a raid rift. You can use the experts at any tear as long as you are in the right zone. Raid husks require a raid tear. The experts are pretty much tank and spank while the raid rifts require some cordination.

Dom has some nice toys definitely, but you'll mostly ever be the guy ensuring your team wins; that satisfying "crunch" of wrecking someones head with your DPS will never be yours. Instead, you just have to get the satisfaction of a cleric charging into your front line, all of a sudden out of mana and about to get their heads smashed.

I'm trying to enjoy the late 30's early 40's - but man, the "little things" are starting to add up and make me not so happy. Targeting in this game feels seriously off, often I'll have to spam the hell out of the "Next Target/Closest Target" button before it decides to leave my current target and get on the rogue bashing my head in. I wouldn't use that button if the click targeting wasn't so "finicky"; hard to explain it just doesn't feel as slick as WoW targetting. Add to that they don't seem to have "target nearest mob with offensive spell" targeting (like WoW does) and PvP targeting becomes a pain in my keister.

Zone invasions are based on the population of the zone and are set up to proper difficulty. A full on invasion usually starts with you getting a zone quest requiring you to kill dudes, close rifts, pick up stuff and take it somewhere, etc. After that, the invasion boss shows up (skull with axes through it on map) and heads somewhere. If you participated in the invasion, you get loot based on your participation.

I just wanted to jump in and answer a few questions and concerns we’ve been seeing come up over past couple of days.

    Saboteurs
Firstly we’re going to roll-back the changes to Charge range; they’ll be back to the same levels as they are on Live at the moment. Regarding damage, put simply some Saboteurs specs are doing far too much damage in both PVP and PVE across multiple level ranges including 50. In part this was due to an armor penetration bug however a significant portion of it is also due to Charge Booster. We’re still not entirely happy with Charge Booster as is it exists on the Test shard and we’ll be updating it further to reward players who invest deeper into the Saboteur tree. We’re not trying to force people to have to spend 51 points in Saboteur we’re just trying to make it a more attractive option than what it currently is.

Why didn’t you nerf Warrior DPS?
The issue with Warrior DPS in most cases was due to a bug in Combat Precision. We’ve since fixed the bug which has reduced most “broken” builds, bringing them more in line with other DPS souls. In the case of the Paragon it dropped them too far requiring us to buff them up a little. There were of course other tweaks as well for both PVE and PVP spread across a number of Souls.

    Reavers
The Reaver is a tank first and foremost specializing in AOE threat generation; they are not a DPS Soul. Right now the speed at which they can solo a large number of mobs is too fast especially when they come out of the encounter at full health. Our goal here is to reduce their speed and overall healing ability while not impacting their threat too heavily.

    “Ranged Warriors”
Flamespear, Path of the Wind and Path of the Raptor are having their cooldown times reduced from the 6 seconds that they are on Test right now to 4 seconds. We’re satisfied for now that these changes still give Warriors ranged attack options across a few different specs.
We’ll also be doing an audit of dungeons to ensure there isn’t an overabundance of encounters that unduly punish melee characters so we can adjust them in upcoming patches. If you feel there are bosses that punish melee too much please let us know.

Bard, Chloromancer and Justicar group healing
Area of effect healing from these classes right now is too powerful in larger raids, especially their passive & secondary healing effects. As such we want to reduce the amount of healing they can perform in those environments without greatly reducing their effectiveness in smaller groups and while soloing. We’ve been paying close attention to and working with some of our top raiders on the Test server and so far are happy with how the changes are working out.
To clarify something else as well all of our AOE heals use Smart Healing i.e. they select the targets who need healing the most and heal those characters and pets first. This means you should never see a case where you heal someone at full health while there’s someone next to them who actually requires healing.

    Mana Drains
Mana drains right now are a too good and are allowing players to rapidly drain people in PVP, we’ll be increasing the time it takes to completely drain a targets mana for both Void Knights and Dominators.

    Ground of Strength
The stun portion of Ground of Strength is being moved over to be affected by the same diminishing returns used for stun abilities. Like everything else we’ll continue to monitor this ability.

    Moving Forward
Overall it’s been a fairly busy month for us and while you haven’t seen us post very much I can assure you that every day we’re looking at in-game bug reports and feedback as well as the forums. Post 1.1 we’ll be continuing to look at feedback, parses, logs and addressing issues as they come up.

    Cheers,

    Sweet

Also, Assassins should use the following macro for Slip Away:

    #show Slip Away
    targetexact Figgy
    cast Slip Away
    targetlasttarget

The reason for this is that sometimes after using Slip Away, you accidentally had another ability queued up which then breaks Slip Away's stealth. Especially if you use "full queue," you'll notice an ability will queue up even for several seconds. The only way to break that queue is either use something else on the GCD or target yourself.

Alot of the armor sets look goddamn terrible normally, but with proper dyes and hiding helms you can get passable looks.

The problem I have with the Rift team is their lack of finding and fixing stuff on their own. Having to have the player base figure out the bugged warrior talent well into release instead of figuring it out during beta and alphas, and having to have some security specialist point out the huge glaring flaw in their launcher to get that fixed, or their customer support page not being secure when requiring you to log into that and not noticing that until a post is made on the forums about it.

The biggest issues the game is facing, and the dev testing team isn't figuring out any of it on their own its all waiting for a post on the forums where the player base figured it out and posted it to get it fixed. Thats just disappointing to me.
