there's at least two NPC trainers you can rematch daily
at this point I'm done trying to make the argument that while it's not what we're in any way used to, I don't think the stuff that happened is as bad as everyone is taking it to be
but hurp durp change hurp durp
gary i will attempt to re-add your stuff
e: see speed racer I don't think less pokemon means less strategy
different strategy, sure but less? i just don't feel like that's true

If you actually had to ask why 3v3 isn't good then you have brain problems.

does scraggy's moxie own as much as i feel it does
not only does it seem really good in a battle
it owns that my pokemon that looks rad as hell, wearing sunglasses, gets moxie after killing a nerd
also he was big pimpin in the musical with his glasses, tophat, bowtie, and cane
edit: t4ct i think the bigger thing is why did they feel the need to take out those aspects of the wifi and shit
although stuff they improved on in hg/ss (pokes following you around, autorun) weren't included because b/w were being developed concurrently by a different team

and i totally agree that them being taken out entirely is kind of silly

which i'd really like to respond too but are just so fucking condescending that it's beyond the point where it'd be productive.
furthermore if there's an issue of strategy being dumbed down why not just do gary's 3v3 best of 3 idea and implement the wonder launcher which is a feature you can turn on for the 50-scale battles anyway?
maybe we can do some kind of honor system rotation battle where both participants agree to only use the dude in front?
although I'm not exactly certain of the mechanics of rotation battles, I thought someone said they were like you had three dudes available and had one action a turn and could switch between them and target any of the enemy's three as you wished

If it is that big a problem, why can't we just use pokemon online and have the honor system or something, where you have to have trained up your pokemon to use them?

I don't think you are able to switch pokemon with a pokemon currently on the field AND give up your turn, which is what you'd need to do in order to simulate regular battles

because the honor system would decompose ridiculously fast and a whole bunch of really nifty things like breeding for IV's and such go completely out the window when you can set all your IV's to 31 and set your hidden power to whatever you want with no repercussions
gary can you just double check the the friendcode is 4384 1299 6591
please explain how halving the number of pokemon involved in the fight doesn't completely warp the strategy
you can make the case that the change is good though I'd certainly disagree very strongly
but you can't deny that there isn't a massive difference
because it's not objective fat?
it changes the strategy but it doesn't make it less strategic, it's just a different way of playing. You have a pool of six pokemon around within which you may have to develop several strategies to combat whatever you're going to be facing but these strategies have to work within the context of a three pokemon environment, because suddenly adding or removing one pokemon substitutes a third of your team drastically changes the way you're going to play the game

While I'm not really advocating we switch to PO
you could just put a blanket ban on hidden power and I don't think anyone would cry too much

also I have zero problem with everyone having all 31 IVs
All my guys have 31 in speed anyway 8-)
being on my DS, with the microphone, and the actual game is a major fun component though
this reminds me of people complaining about how the original 150 are the "real" pokemon and the others are lame
except that that comparison is in no way valid and is just insulting people who are feeling wronged by having features they enjoyed removed from the newest iteration of a favorite form of entertainment

i wasn't trying to be snide, i am sorry about that. i just remember when it was revealed that you could set IVs to pokemon and then it got so technical, and I had liked it before where you never had to crunch numbers or anything to be successful.

so many nice things
at least there is pokemon online
maybe rotation battles could be a thing?
it would definitely still be very different, and could very well have its own wad of problems that aren't immediately jumping to mind for me
but it beats having your team chopped in half
http://www.audioentropy.com/
not anymore
No but you can scale to 50 I think and it lets you use 6 pokemon
http://www.audioentropy.com/
yeah that could work
it sucks that we are not going to have a clear idea how well they work until people have earned enough BP for the TMs/Items that they want
the client still exists, even if we don't have our own server
which isn't very good, but it's better than grinding everything to level 100
and i totally agree that them being taken out entirely is kind of silly

well way to ruin it gary

Most people around here aren't complete geese, so they'll abide by the rules, not to mention we can shun anyone who doesn't.

this is quite a sentence
i don't want to have to level every single pokemon i want to train up to 50
and even if i do, that's only for 3v3!
just doesnt make sense for them to take out the main mode of wifi that everyone used
I am using the term "best" very loosely though

the coolest pokemon

well, kind of
it doesn't change the fact the strategy is there, it just changes how the strategies get used
