i swear, NOTHING in my backlog is going to get finished this year.
i'm gonna get through the witcher 1.
then i'll be playing the witcher 2.
the rest of the year? playing ME2 and getting my imports ready for ME3. GODDAMMIT.
I need to get back to Dragon Age 2 - and 1, for that matter - and play lots more ME2. Between them, potential Steam sales, and Skyrim and ME3 later, that's my year (and probably next) taken care of.

I don't think I'll be worrying too much about imports this time around. There's only like, one decision that might do anything in 3. And for squadmates, I'm pretty sure "not dead" beats "dead."
Whew.
I'm pretty sure one of my dozen playthroughs will have what I need.
I can't remember how it works with Bioware funbucks but Microsoft funbucks is built up in a way that you always have a small excess of funbucks laying around that you end up unable to use - unless you buy more funbucks. So in the end they scheme out a tiny percentage of extra money from everyone.
It's a hideous concept and I'm pretty sure MS was supposed to go into court for it in the US.
I haven't heard of the court case, but if it exists, Bioware needs to go to court as well, because it's the same model, but manages to be worse--Bioware has fewer sales, far fewer things to buy (MS points go as an additional method of purchase for the Zune Video and Music store, as well as the entirety of Xbox Live, compared to....DLC for a handful of Bioware games), and you can't buy it in increments either.
To make matters worse, as far as I can tell, you can only buy Bioware points from Bioware. I can buy MS points from pretty much any place that sells video games at this point, and the these places have actually heard of the concept of having sales. Can Bioware points be purchased from anywhere but Bioware? And do the prices actually change? To my knowledge, no to both. If you CAN buy them elsewhere, that's a step in the right direction, at least....
Really, MS' system is bad, but Bioware is just fucking evil with theirs. Comparing the two, MS funbucks are an actual exchanged foreign currency, whereas Bioware funbucks are Chuckie Cheese tokens or something.
EDIT: I was about to say "I wish they could adopt Sony's system"--except the Sony store is still pretty unintuitive, and I've heard too many horror stories and warnings to want to give Sony my credit card information, meaning I have to buy Sony funbucks as well. So much for that.
Sony's system charges you only what you spend, UNLESS it's <$5. So if you buy $21.79 worth of stuff, that's all they charge you, but if you buy $3.25 they charge you $5. Now that excess amount is put into your wallet, but it's still rather irritating.
Edit: This is the stuff that transferred to my free PC copy of ME2:
Terminus Weapon and Armor, Inferno Armor, Sentry Interface (Dr. Pepper), Recon Hood (Dr. Pepper), Umbra Visor (Dr. Pepper), Collectors' Weapon and Armor, Blood Dragon Armor, Zaeed - The Price of Revenge (Cerberus Network), Cerberus Weapon and Armor (Cerberus Network), Normandy Crash Site (Cerberus Network), Cerberus Arc Projector (Cerberus Network), and Firewalker Pack (Cerberus Network).
EA and anime distributors Funimation have announced an agreement to create an animated film based on the Mass Effect universe.
Bioware exec Casey Hudson will serve as the movie's executive producer.
"Over the last few years, we have revealed different pieces of the Mass Effectworld through different media. Extending the story through an anime medium is another amazing opportunity for us,” said Casey Hudson, Executive Producer for the Mass Effect series. "Partnering with FUNimation ensures that we will bring this rich universe to life with the utmost quality and the same attention to detail that the Mass Effect games are known for.”
"It is thanks to the enormous and passionate Mass Effect fan base that this movie is made possible," said Gen Fukunaga, President & CEO of FUNimation. “With production underway on the Dragon Age video, we are excited to team up with another BioWare team to add an exciting new chapter to this vast sci-fi world.”
Production of the Mass Effect*anime movie has already begun. Digital and home video releases are scheduled for the summer of 2012.

Much like Dragon Age: Origins before it, EA and BioWare are teaming up with FUNimation Entertainment to create an anime feature film based on the Mass Effect series. Production has begun, with digital and home releases planned for 2012.
I know many of you are "herp derp anime", but ME is a universe that I believe would look fantastic if handled by the right animation studio. Something closer to Batman: Gotham Knight in terms of quality would be awesome. Just think of the Garrus short animated by Production IG. Oh man....
But I also had a question about DLC: does Bioware's DLC packs ever go on sale like on XBL? I've been wanting Lair of the Shadow Broker forever now, but I'm still iffy about coughing up $10 for it (even though I heard it's longer than the average DLC, about 3 hours?). Should I continue being patient about a sale, or just bite the bullet already?
So, we have Mass Effect video games, Mass Effect novels, and comics, a Mass Effect anime coming, and possibly a Mass Effect movie... I wonder how long until we have "Mass Effect:The breakfast cereal" or "Mass Effect:The flamethrower!"
I haven't been following any ME news lately but this image sparked my interest. It shows a world burning with the reapers closing in. I also remember some video about a sniper in some ruins and I just wanted to ask if it's been confirmed anywhere that we're going to do a lot of urban combat in ME3?
I think I would prefer that over the corridors
aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhahahahaha sucks to be you cote d'ivoire.
kinda liking the more global focus on earth's destruction
america has some cool landmarks for aliens to destroy but you can only see a headless lady liberty before you long for a wrecked paris or humbled dubai

Fortunately, Lady Liberty's head is safe with David.
And the Mona Lisa, if Goto is smart, is resting over Shep's booze cabinet.

seems to be just for newly bought versions of da2 though, i never got the firepower pack but i did get the firewalker pack (and everything else in the Cerberus network)
i kinda hate this now, me2 plays and looks amazing on my new pc, yet all my dlc/saves/sheps are on my 360.
:x
still, think ill end up with the 360 version of me3 and then maybe pick up all 3+all-dlc versions on steam when they drop in price and do a no reload trilogy run.

This free ME2 thing is pretty damn awsome, you get quite a lot of paid DLC stuff with it as well.
If you count the Cerberus Network stuff as paid...?

I was honestly suprised they threw it in.
And, speaking of covers, I hope ME3's cover art is better than ME2's, because frankly, ME2's sucked.
fake edit: oh the firewalker pack
much less rad
Looks like firepower pack to me http://eastore.ea.com/store/ea/en_US/html/pbPage.fp_offer_US/?resid=TZ4TSwoBAlgAAGdt6twAAAA4&rests=1302205259643

I will never know now
he looks like an action figure
IIRC, you copy the unlock criteria over from another weapon, like the heavy pistol in the mordin recruit mission
Does completing it bring an end to ME2? Is there a sense of closure? Can you continue playing afterwards?
I was surprised when they didn't initially, then pleasantly surprised when they amended the offer to include it.
Firewalker is included with Cerberus Network.
Firepower (a $2 value!) is thrown in if you buy DA2 from the EA store.

Bring a end? Only insofar as it's the last bit of story DLC.
Sense of closure? Not really, but it honestly doesn't need to. If anything it has repercussions left open for ME3.
Keep playing afterwards? Yes.

Not like I've been playing the game for, ooh, fourteen and a half months now. ;-)
