It is a pretty great name.

But I wonder, are code names for military operations like names of racehorses, in that they can't be reused?

Because there have been some pretty lame ones in the past.

Wow, big news in Yemen now

Top army commanders defect in Yemen
Several top Yemeni army commanders have declared their support for anti-government protesters seeking the resignation of the country''s president, Ali Abudullah Saleh.

Major General Ali Mohsen Saleh, the head of the north western military zone and the head of the first armoured division, said on Monday that he had deployed army units to protect the protesters.

Two more commanders, Mohammed Ali Mohsen and Hameed al-Qusaibi, rallied behind Major General Saleh soon after.

    Gaddafi forces kill 9 in rebel-held Misrata-resident
Forces loyal to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi fired on a crowd of unarmed people in the centre of the rebel-held city of Misrata on Monday, killing at least nine, a resident told Reuters.

"The people of Misrata went into the streets and to the (city) centre, unarmed, in an attempt to stop Gaddafi's forces entering the city. When they gathered in the centre the Gaddafi forces started shooting at them with artillery and guns. They committed a massacre. The hospital told us at least nine people were killed," the resident, Saadoun, told Reuters by telephone.

Libya controls like 2% of oil supply and Egypt doesn't really export as far as I know. Even then exports havent disappeared completely just slowed down.

But, I havent looked anything up about Yemen yet.

I lean more towards calling it a Rock Doctrine, or possibly a Rocktrine

Also, I believe it took all of 4 seconds for people to start criticizing Obama's decision to get involved in Libya. I saw a headline but refused to read the story (headline was basically saying "Oh great, now we're in another war that's going to last forever"). I'm not a fan of the outside countries getting involved in this situation, but I do agree that this situation required it to avoid a leader massacring civilians/rebels.

    Ugh

Libyan operation hampered by confusion and dispute
The US has showed signs of exasperation with its European partners amid confusion over who will take control of the Libyan operation from America.

President Barack Obama and his senior commanders are eager to hand over command to Europe in a matter of days, either to a Nato-led command or some Nato-style operation headed by France or Britain.

Nato had been due to announce on Monday that it was taking over, but that had to be abandoned because of a dispute between the 28 member countries. Britain and France also appear to be at odds over which state will take the lead.

Nato members met in Brussels on Monday but have so far failed to resolve an impasse compounded by Turkish objections to the intervention force.

Yeah there's a severe lack of leadership going on implementing this no-fly zone. Not very surprising considering it was only a couple weeks ago our defense secretary was telling us a no-fly zone wasn't possible.

Everyone wants a ceasefire but no one wants to be responsible for it.

With most things that are horrible, I can just be like "yeah, it's stupid, but I can just ignore it." The Kardashians are a good example of this. They're completely harmless.

I'd LOVE to have that attitude towards Fox News. But the knowledge that they are the sole news source for a significant portion of the American public is just infuriating, and makes it kind of hard to be like "whatever."
