Having finished the game with MageHawke, I'm glad how it all ended. Now, if I'm railroaded to saving the Chantry from the trouble that the beginning exposition says it's in during Dragon Age 3, I'll be pissed off.
On the PC, is anyone else experiencing low dialog volume? I have it at max but I still have to crank my speaker volume almost to maximum to hear what they're saying better. Perhaps it has something to do with surround sound.

I sided with the mages and was bros with everyone but my actual Bro and Pirate who ran off because she wanted to let the city burn to save her own damn neck when, as professional adventurers, we could totally just go hunt down the guy who was giving her shit.
On an interesting note, I think if I had executed Anders, I think the population of mages in the city that didn't know blood magic would have been cut in half.
It might be a silly thing but I really love how badass the rock armor spell looks in this game. I love how Hawke gets encased in an actual armor of sharp rocks the moment a fight starts.

To get off the topic of Mass Effect, I'm going to predict the rankings in which people will like characters,
1) Varric
2) Bethany
3) Sebastian
4) Aveline
5) Carver
6) Merrill
7) Fenris
8) Isabela
9) Anders
Though pretty much everyone except Varric is going to get a lot of hate I think. Sebastian and Bethany may escape because of how vanilla they are, but the hate for everyone else is going to go insane pretty quickly.
I didn't get Sebastian, so I'm holding him off until I buy the DLC. Honestly though, the first 4 are all very close and the last 3 will never see my party again in playthroughs unless I'm doing specific achievement runs.

I hope the answer is "they stay with you and get their own special abilities tree".
She gets corrupted by the Darkspawn blood, and if you don't have Anders in your party, she'll die. If you do have Anders in your party, she can become a Grey Warden and will then leave.

i'm about to play the DA2 demo.
If i like this demo, will i pretty much 100% guaranteed like the full game? And if I don't like it, will i near guaranteed not like the full game? or is it one of those demos where its vastly different to the actual game?

Trying to get DX11 to work with dragon age. I just installed service pack 2 for vista but the DXsetup installer tells me I have the latest. Is dx11 a seperate download?

However, my Woman Called Hawke just rolled around the sheets with Isabela and she's still wearing her old outfit.

I think you might have to do more with Isabela than just roll around in the hay with her. You need it to be serious, although I haven't gone down that path so I can't be entirely certain.

Ok major thing I'm disliking.
Right click+hold moves the camera around. I hate this. Leftclick+hold is much easier for me. However, swapping the mouse buttons actually swaps them in the menu too, which is ridiculous.
Is there a way to make camera rotation leftclick+hold without affecting the other functions?

Finally finished the game. Clocked in at 36:45 and at level 23.
This is super small but the only thing that really confused me at the end was
I romanced Merrill, got the kiss before the big fight at the end, but Varric's ending speech said, in a very "audio changing to a new file" voice, that Isabella is the only one not to leave my side.
Either way, whatever.
If you hit a certain friendship trigger with Isabella after you do most of the Romance with Merrill the game glitches the ending a bit.
Merrill in general has quite a few glitches surrounding her story and stuff, and the devs said they were working on it.

that Hawke ended up leaving Merrill and went to be a swashbuckler on the high seas like Isabella talked about.

Son of a bitch! Fenris' companion quest isn't triggering in act two, and I'm nearing the very end of this act. Does anyone know how to trigger it? I've been nothing but supportive of the man.
Edit: Oh, I just have to travel somewhere outside of Kirkwall with Fenris in the party. Problem solved!

It's...well to be blunt, even more half-assed and terrible than the usual RPG romance. I said all of two romantic lines in the game and now I'm back at my house and...oh, hi Merril. I guess we're in love now? Sure. Sure why not.
Related: All of Hawke's romantic lines come across as insanely creepy. The VA just cannot work it at all.
Oh well. At least I got A) An achievement and Merril has sweet new armor.

To be fair, Anders says some really dumb stuff. Like when Fenris comments that some (SOME, not even making a blanket FUCK ALL MAGES STATEMENT) truly deserve tranquility Anders says "Yeah well how about we make all the slaves tranquil then they wouldn't have to worry about dreaming of freedom!"

Edit: Curse you and your edits, too! I keep Anders around for healing and buffing but his attitude is a little annoying sometimes. I really like that about the characters, though. Hawke can sway them a little bit but he can't magically force everyone to come to an understanding; some people have biases that can't be overcome.
