SO I've been talking to this girl...and well I guess i started to like her. and vice versa. WE really instantly clicked and it felt like we've known each other forever.
and we live within 10 minutes of each other.
We're going to get some Bubble Tea and then watch red vs blue at her house...
Her Profile seems legit, and it would be pretty elaborate to have a huge circle of friends and stuff...
i got her phone number and she SOUNDS like a girl.
so just about everything checks out...
should i be scared?
Should I call it off?
Am I fucking stupid, plain and simple, for deciding to date this girl?
I met a romantic interest off myspace and it turned out to be a good experience, so I'd go for it, what else do you have to lose? (I'd agree to just coffee at first so you have an easy out after the coffee if things go poorly)
Unless you're a targeted demographic, you shouldn't have much to worry about. As in, as long as you're not a female, or underage, or, I don't know, actually a drug dealer or pedophile.
Lots of people meet off the internet. Actually it seems that people get along better the sooner they meet in real life. Similar to how someone is more receptive to a movie/book combination if they watch/read them in close succession, compared to reading the book 3 or 4 times and then watching a movie on it a year later -- you've developed thoughts and other perceptions in your head that are pretty "set." If you get it over with early, though, it tends to jive pretty well.
I would go for the bubble tea, but leave it at that for the first "date". Maybe I'm just paranoid, but taking off and being alone with someone you just met (thought the interwebs or otherwise) is generally not a great idea.
Everywhereasign on
"What are you dense? Are you retarded or something? Who the hell do you think I am? I'm the goddamn Batman!"
Not for nothing, but I think you are going to get stabbed...with her penis.
Neither picture looks like a girl, to me.
The bottom one is him my good man.

Go get coffee or something that at minimum will last 20 minutes and has the possibility to go longer if they warrant it. Also, just let a friend know where you are just in case something does happen. Always better to be prepared.
You know what, people who can't give a good honest picture of themselves (where you can at least see their faces) are hiding something more often than being "artsy". I can only see an eye and the outline of her lips.

lol yes.
anyway, the date is on Vday and I usually go for a first date, like coffee/bubble tea and a movie. but since everyfuckingplace is going to be crowded I said "how about a DVD?"
yeah...the only reason i'm kinda comfortable about going over to her house is because I really feel connected. it's REALLY fucking weird man. I dunno if i'm trippin or not.

Oh she has OTHER pictures of her. I just really like that one. XD the pictures are definatly of a GIRL. the thing that kinda puts me off...is that...perhaps this is a dude fronting as a girl.
Also, never be fooled by a huge circle of friends on Myspace.
Myspace friends are friends in the same sense that a large collection of stamps are friends.
No i mean the circle of friends in that they seem like real world friends so it would be pretty elaborate for this to actually be some fat guy named tony.

That's the only thing that would scare me.
She could be a skinny guy named tony.
You said she has other pics? Does she look like a girl in any of them? because she just doesn't in that pic you posted, sorry.
As Zek says, she has "the angles." If you don't know what that means...watch this:
Seriously though, I met my girlfriend on Myspace. It's been a year and a half and great, although I did have many of the same fears as you. I met up with her at a public festival thing and hung out there for a bit and I took her home, great first date. Keep it casual, have fun, and beware the SIF.
Definately stick to a public place, dude. An area with lots of people around, because like Chop Logic said, many horrible things could go wrong here. If she is who she says she is, good things could happen. From experience, my best friend met his girlfriend on this very forum and things turned out well. Look at my sig for details.
i'm not meeting at her house first. She's coming to MY house to pick me up. Then we are leaving to get bubble tea. Then we're going to her house. If things REALLY go bad, I'll just find another way home...
Your going alone to the house of some person you never met over the internet and have never seen in real life, not knowing the if the credible source of myspace has all the correct personal information. Something reeks of stupidty all over it.
I mean, for me, this is common sense common sense, but seeing what other people have written, I am actually quite shocked, really.

her arms are big because she's been in martial arts for 13 years...
so...yeah...
That's a better picture.
Still let someone know where you'll be. And just make sure she's 18, dude. Just make sure she's 18.
well, in Washington state the age of concent is actually 16.
so.
yeah.
anyway, like i said. we're not going to her house first. if something goes horribly wrong, then it's a no go. Hell we could just decide to go back to my house.
and yeah I'm going to of course have people know where I'm at. and my cell phone will be with me, etc.
Don't go back to her place and don't bring her back to yours the first time you hang out, under any circumstances.
Not following these three suggestions would just be reckless and ignorant. Put aside all the silly thoughts about how "connected" you feel, and how much you want a girlfriend and take care of yourself. Be clear-headed, intelligent and safe.
Just because this person is probably a girl doesn't rule out the chance of her being a psycho and/or dangerous. I mean shit... she has what appears to be "Hot Topic" written in red crayon on a piece of paper stuck to her wall.

get to know her.
I know in life it's the things I haven't done that I regret more than the things that I did do that ended badly.
I say go for it.

So, yes, go, have fun and be merry.
I'm an 18 year old male...she's an 18 year old female. both gamers, nerds, etc...
her
half my friends think i'm going to get stabbed.
One friend recommended I have another friend secretly follow us.

Keep the date to a single, contained, but public meeting. Something one can easily make an exit from should the need arise.
lol yes.

Online is good only if you can see that other person in real life.

nice myspace the movie reference...anyway
no she's got full body shots. I just didn't post'em. like i said, I know this much
the pictures are
1) a girl
2) a girl with a nice figure
3) a girl that i deem cute (yeah she has that guy emo hair cut...i like it. :P sue me)
what makes me paranoid is that instead of a cute emo chick showing up at my door on Vday
some fat guy named Tony shows up in a Van with no windows. x_X
She could be a skinny guy named tony.

It's the first part.
anyway, yeah I'll post pictures. she sent'em to my cell so i gotta transfer them to my PC and upload'em.
Why wouldn't they be on her myspace?
It had to be linked.

EDIT: Beat'd hard. I fail.
Because I requested them. lol...and they're not all "artsy" angle shots. Just normal, full body shots.
I challenge any sane person to not be able to instantly come up with 5 things that could go horribly wrong.
And I challenge any sane person to think of 5 things that can go amazingly right.

Meet somewhere public, and stay there.
