Aren't there some more contests you could win though? I'm sure there are like billions of contests (doesn't have to be SC2 related) out there for video cards. Probably not so much for monitors though.
by the time I get free money to buy the rest the parts will be out of date by at least 3 generations.
Bummed out that I didn't get an actual computer though.
So if anyones interested, pm me. If not I'll probably just throw it on ebay. Yay poor people!
I'm kind of tired with how b.net considers each of my ladders to be a part of the whole. Winning a random 4v4 really has no bearing on how I am in 1v1. Placing me in my original 4v4 based mainly on my current 1v1 ability is annoying enough, but then putting me against masters 1v1 because I'm masters 4v4, even though I haven't even 1v1 laddered in months, is kind of annoying. Especially considering the qualifications for getting into 4v4 masters is: Do you have a pulse? y/n

I recommend selling everything now on ebay or something. If you put that money into a hole and dig it up again in a year, you'll be able to buy all those components back and more.
Holy mother of god those parts. I would buy those from you but at anything less than 80% of retail I'd feel like I was robbing you blind from the money you could get on ebay. ebay the shit out of that and make it rain. Or save them until you have some other cash.
17 bids on one of those puppies right now and it's at $860 with almost two days left. You could buy an entire computer. Or food. Toilet paper. So much toilet paper. Tens of copies of SC2. A ticket to Lybia. Great vacation spot.
I seriously have no money right now. I'm using a laptop so I would have to buy a monitor too. So I'm probably looking at least another $400 to actually get the rest of the parts.
I emailed the person that ran the contest asking if I was getting the other pieces but they never replied.
They are totally sweet! But complete paper weights for me. I would get rid of them for half of what they cost new, or whatever.
holy shit. those are damn fine parts.
i'd offer to buy them off of you but really, if you're strapped for cash and need a new computer, you can sell those insane parts and build a really nice rig + monitor all for around $1000-$1200

I concur with these guys waka.....
You say you were hoping you won a computer...so sell the i7 you got on ebay and take the $800+ you prolly will get for it. Keep the mobo and ddr3 and use the money you make off of the cpu to buy the rest of the computer around it.
Unless you are really strapped for cash. Then sell everything and use that money for food or whatever. But if you are stable enough financially but understandably can't afford a computer....then sell only the cpu and use the money towards building a computer around the mobo and ram. Then it will be just like you won the computer you were hoping for originally.
Isn't Fruitdealer suppose to be playing in 10 minutes? Why is "in 10 minutes" not showing up on gom's "go live" button. Are up and down matches not streamed? Or did I miss something.

Anyone else just see him gg out of a ZvP mid-battle where he had 160 supply and 4k minerals banked, with Queens on 150+ energy? But the Protoss had gone Colossus/Void Ray, which is imba, so it's understandable.
Depending on his unit comp and tech it's basically a perfectly reasonable answer.
Seems like if you have 4k minerals banked and your queens are at 150+ energy you may have played suboptimally and it may not be the protoss tactic used against you that made you lose.
People give Idra a lot of crap for leaving games early and I know the guy rages, but sometimes you play like crap and realize you have no chance of winning left so you're best off just dropping the gg and getting out. That doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Colossus/ Void Ray. Though if you've ever attacked a full stocked deathball you'll know that you're basically dead once it exists.
yesterday when playing I forgot a zealot on hold position, accidentally had the wrong probe selected to plug the gap with a pylon, my stalker was out of position and got surrounded inside my base despite having probes available to tank for it, and then I didn't pull enough probes and lost about 10 to 8 slow zerlgings.
I just gg'd. Not worth the effort and frustration of continuing such a match.
I see... I'd started just half-watching because I expected a 3rd FD vs Virus to go much the same way, then all of a sudden there was a probe on the screen. Hax!
Wait what, why is there a protoss playing now? How do these up/down games work?
1 Code A player 2 Code S per group
one Code S player was the 3rd ranked in his ro32 group, the other was the 4th ranked
First up the Code A plays 3rd ranked Code S.
If Code A player wins, he's Code S, and the 3rd Code S plays 4th Code S. Winner goes Code S.

Whoever does buy them, enjoy, you bastard xD
I still highly recommend saving, even if it takes 6 months that will still be a top of the line computer.

the HQ Live is okay. not amazing quality or anything but it looks clear maximised on my 24" monitor from a good 7-8 metres away.
and the VODs are incredible.
HQ VODs are wtfamazing on the TV.
