Only time I have died is from a creeper explosion, which I am pretty sure armor would have helped then.
Came back from my first mining trip (which involved making a nice stair case to bedrock) and I found about 40 pieces of iron and 6 diamonds. Pumped that shit out and was immediately scolded for building basic tools to play the game.
Took me all of 30 mins to piss people off.

If you made a full set of iron armor, you wasted Iron. You can get just as good protection from leather armor, it's easier to make, and we don't need the materials to replace our destroyed mine tracks. If you need the extra durability, read up on Item Durability on the wiki and make one piece of iron armor for 90% of the benefit of a full suit.
I'm not saying don't make anything at all - I did make some iron boots for last night. Just don't expect people to be happy that you spent most of a stack of iron to avoid having to run to the farm every so often to get bread.
And my understanding is that we have a fair number of diamond picks. Did you ask for one before making your own?
Finally, the Mods CAN enforce the nation constitutions. Ours is actually one of the more lax ones. Other nations require permission to build ANYTHING on the main island. If you flaunt it to openly you could get yourself jailed.
This is the greatest thread in any of the PA forums...
That's a stretch.
Comic edits are baller.
I won't be on much for the gold rush on the mainland as I'm still burning through essays gradually. Expect to see more of me next week. Earth Nation represent!

I want to combine the terms Boston Tea Party and Teabag somehow.
I can't believe how many people are really hurt about all this.
Did no one read the "Don't be a dick" rule?
When, in the entire history of the internet, has this worked?
Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if it did, but "don't be a dick" doesn't generally deter dicks. It's the internet equivalent of "don't steal this". People who aren't assholes won't be assholes, but the ones who are won't stop just because you asked politely.
I've seen this happen on every single PvP Minecraft server I've ever played on that wasn't just a free-for-all. The only way around it is to use something with similar function to Towny (which I think is no longer supported, I could be wrong), which can control who can build/break and where.

You should provide proof that the other nations are more stricked then yours. Clearly this is not what I'm seeing.
I'm not one to advocate someone, but I think you should give wakkawa a little bit more respect then what you've been giving.

Cross post.
Cilantro found this little island away in the ocean. Nearby on the bottom of the ocean was a sunken pirate ship. It had sunk stern down so its bow was point up but it was still far below the water. Making a small hut on the island to store supplies we began our excavation. I managed to swim down to the bow and with an axe cut my way in to see what was there. Amazingly I found a compartment of breathable air on my first try. There was a torch as well as a scrawled message from the ship's last voyage.
We were in the very bow of the ship and the wall with the message is actually the underside of the upper deck. Below us was the rest of the ship's interior all filled with water. Some time later, after slowly removing all the water and sealing up the hull breaches we found numerous chests as with riches inside! There wasn't actually anything great. Just a single diamond and some bones. Still is was super fun finding it and figuring out a good way to clear out the water to safely get down.
I wanna join a nation. How do I join a nation? I want to grief and use all of the iron to make buckets, which I fill with lava and use to fuel furnaces to produce coal from birch trees.
I mean, I want to play minecraft with you guys.

Yea I would love to play minecraft as well, but that just isn't going to fucking happen. Sorry, Cock at War or bust.
Sure, but when you sign up for a PvP server, I'd assume you understand fighting might be forced upon you, and as such, to me the first logical thing to do is get weapons and armor.
That is, once you've mined enough to get ample resources.
It just seems funny to see someone say "Don't make armor because people die a lot", when in fact people would die a lot less if they were wearing armor.

No see, I signed up for the server expecting a more political and civil affair. I haven't been on since the warring started because I'm waiting for it to calm down (hopefully) into something I enjoy more.

It might be different with the new rules. My experience with PvP servers has been less than ideal, so I tend to assume regardless of rules that killing and being killed will be the predominant in-game experience.
Hello, I have come here looking to join the server. I have just recently joined the forums here, specifically to get the IP, but I do read the comic.
This server looks exactly like the sort of thing I am looking for in Minecraft. If I am given such information, I'm sure I could be of force of obsessive attention for my faction.

Bitch a lot and add nothing to the nation?
But most of you are cool.
I wonder if anything super rad is hidden beneath that torch mark.

I like them. They're what I thought the rules were until I abruptly discovered otherwise this weekend.

Boston Teabag Party: Knock a guy out, throw all his shit in the ocean, then repeatedly crouch on his face.
That must be why all those people went to Boston... training.

Wakka, don't let them get you down. Earth is a little over-the-top in their playstyle.
Very nice find Fire Nation. I was hoping something was down there, but all I found was deep holes.
Violating the treaty will never result in a ban. Ein has expressed in Vent that he doesn't give a shit about treaties.

I'm not in Earth but I definitely don't understand this bizarre mindset of not making weapons and armor first, given the PvP nature of the server.
