So my MobileMe subscription lapses in 26 days. I've heard bubbling all over the place that something is changing in the MobileMe world, but i can't find any news other than "Incoming changes!"
My me.com email account is my primary for lots of important bills/work related info.
Option 1:
Pay the $68 sale price i've found for a one year renewal, hold out hope that when and if they change MobileMe i'll be offered some sort of compensation or something
Option 2:
Hold out and allow the account to lapse/get close to lapsing and see what Apple does.
Any advice? Or anyone know something i don't?

It's impossible for us to without a doubt prove the non-existence of God. We just have to take it on faith that he's imaginary..
Id grab it, I dont think that apple will make it free rather probably just expand of its feature set. Its a worth while purchase. Apple is pretty good with compensation when it comes to stuff like this. You could also go into an Apple retail store and if they still have mobileMe boxes you can just say that you forgot it pick it up for 69 when you bought your new ipad 2 days ago.
If you say your mobileme e-mail account, then yea I have a feeling that's gonna be a free feature in whatever this new change is gonna be. If you say cloud syncing your calendar/bookmarks/contacts, I wouldn't even be surprised if that goes free as apple pushes the iOS integration between mac/iPhone/iPad.
If you use 20GB of online storage, I seriously doubt that's going free.
