I am not FPS fan so I didn't play socom 4 or GoW 3 (fear 3 looked good but I din't get a chance to play it) and the submarine game for the 3ds didn't really interest me. I thought gunstringer was really disappointing because I love twisted pixel games. I really liked the darkness 2 demo but some parts were just hard to watch. Spoiler alert!!! The main character gets his hands crucified and rips out the spikes and shoves one into a guys head.

Ex-Agent to the Stars, ex a lot of other things too.
Pax East 2011, 2012 Veteran. 2014 now loading.
I also avoided the Old Republic demo after seeing the line. And the Nintendo booth.
Did you try the ign booth. They had 2 3ds games and there weren't that many people on line. I got a chance to play SWTOR once but I tried to play it 2 more times (with different classes) and couldn't.
I wound up going to the Capcom booth to play the 3DS. Took about 20 minutes to get in.
Later I played Resident Evil at the Capcom booth and started to get back on board. Sunday I played Nintendogs and was sold - it's again a system selling title for me, it's so nice looking in 3D.
after trying ABP at last years PAX East i've realised(unsurprisingly) that MMOs are not best suited to be shown at this kind of even. on the other hand though, the inclusion of Dragon Nest has alerted me to the product and made me curious enough to check out it once i get back home.
as for the variety of shooters shown(though in context the genre wasn't over represented), none grabbed my attention, whether they be new IPs or established series.
but see that kinda sums up the point of coming to PAX for me. its not really about getting hands on time with the big hitters, no matter how much i want to play them when i plan the trip. once i'm on the expo floor what really grabs my attention is the indie games. and not just the(very limited) showcase section, but any of those smaller booths showing if titles that are new, not based off an existing IP(ie not sequels/licensed games).
a great example would be one of the games that wowed me last year. All Heroes Die!. a great concept, an equally impressive demo and a compelling sales pitch(buy the beta for $5 and you get every update for free). some of you know how this story is going, for those that don't a highlight of thise years PAX East was the 'Death of an Indie Studio' panel which was a talk/lecture and Q&A hosted by the founder(and destroyer) of MacGuffin Games the studio behind All Heroes Die!. and as strange as it may seem that is just one of the extra amazing things about PAX. without it i wouldn't have know about the game at all, never mind have had the chance to follow its entire development/lifespan.
so yeah to try and be even slightly on topic, avoided the big hitters, games i know i'll buy and games i don't think are suited to expo floor demos. though on that note i did make a point of checking out the Deus Ex panel and loved it. am looking forward to it even more now and it was already a guaranteed purchase for me.
The 3DS demo left me unimpressed, but to be fair I only played the one tech demo where you shot the targets and dragon. I am interested in more games like that, though, where you place a reference point on a table and can move around it.
My friends and I all tried Kinect and it didn't work for any of us. Maybe it was the space? But it was our first time with Kinect, and it didn't exactly make us rush out and buy one.
My NES blog and my Pokemon Snap tumblr.
so much, that i cancelled my preorder over amazon 5 minutes after walking away from it.
it's not that it's bad, per se... it's just the "modern combat OH SHIT LETS PLAY LIKE COD thing" is really reminding me of the days where i used to bitch about having too many WW2 shooters. now, i understand the draw of Homefront is the story, but why sit around for a story thats awesome if i'm not enjoying myself while playing the game?
Other than that no complaints really.
Star Wars kept avoiding me, it was impossible to get in unless I wanted to dedicate my entire day to waiting in line.
I avoided Child of Eden, I really wanted to try it, but I didn't want to be on stage in front of people
I also avoided Gears 3, because I don't really play that for the multiplayer.

I was disappointed that it was so average but it was really about what I expected for being in development hell for 12 years.
Really enjoyed Vindictus, Gatling Gears, Firefall, and Shoot Many Robots.
Wasn't a huge fan of some Dungeon something game I can't remember the name of, I couldn't figure out what the hell I was supposed to do. When you've been gaming for 20 years, that's a bad sign.
I didn't get to PLAY SW:TOR but watched a lot of gameplay on the bigscreens. The game looked beautiful, but I felt my interest waning when I watched a group whale on one target for 5 minutes and combat just looked slow and boring.
Seconded. It was the only game I can recall actually queuing a long time to play, and it changed me from a 'buy on day of purchase' to 'wait until it's $20'.
The game is funny, the bro-humour is heavy, but the actual aiming just seemed abysmal. I chose to play it on hardest difficulty because I wanted to get the best challenge out of it in my limited window, and I found that I just could not ever get the target reticle where I wanted it to be. No sensitivity adjustment was bad.

Oh my god this. It was so terrible on the 360 controller with the sensitivity they had it set to. It was impossible for me to be accurate with it by any means.
I didn't mind the game so much. The auto-aim function did some weird things on me. I hate that feature anyway.
I played GoW3 MP. Nothing new here. Dragon's Nest was fun, kinda reminded me of PSO. I think it'll be worth it since its free to play. Vindictus was kind of Dynasty Warriors-esque to me...not too bad though.
I played Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D and it wasn't bad. Usual RE controls. My thumb kept slipping off of the stick though, thats a 3DS issue though.
Didn't really get to play anything else. Firefall looked cool as did The Old Republic.
for real dude i reeeally wanted to play it but 6 hr wait? no thanks
i got a sith and a jedi shirt at least
