Buying clothes because "you can run in them if need be" is silly.
To this day I've run at a decent pace at least 1/2mi at once in:
- A Tuxedo with fancy black shoes
- Hiking boots
- River Sandals
- Probably something else I dunno
The only thing that has ever made it difficult was snowboarding boots. Those things are just too big and bulky to run in, though I still try every time I get into them...
The coolest thing is going all out sprint in a tux though. You just feel like you're James Bond running off to go do something awesome or some crap.

Whatever, dude. Don't come crying to me when you're horribly violated by a mob of pissed off something or other.
if you would like to discuss mooninites in person, why not come to BostonPAX?
i am plugging my threads shamelessly!
Dude, put in your sig. That's what I do when I want hits pronto. I also triple posted up in that bitch. Don't make me go for the dreaded quadruple. I'm crazy enough to do it!
Different areas have different cultural attitudes and accepted norms. I remember a friend from Texas always going off about how unfriendly people in Seattle are compared to people from Texas. He couldn't understand that we have a different culture up here and what is expected and normal in Texas comes across as invasive and rude up here. People are more private in the NW but they're friendly enough if you approach them the right way.
Agreed. I had a jumpy few weeks when I first moved from Cali to Texas, before I could retrain my sunbconscious to the fact that a stranger on the street randomly looking me in the eye, flipping a nod, and barking "HEY!" was a common, friendly greeting, and not a common method of communicating "You look like a bitch, I'm about to jump your ass."
