ok so the concept of the "Tranquil"

did it come from tennessee william's sister?

    plz advise

Are you asking if they are supposed to be people who were given lobotomies or are you saying that William's crazy sister invented lobotomies with hopes that it would cure her crazy?

well, when somebody asked him about his sister after she had a lobotomy he said "She is tranquil"

and well, basically the rite or tranquility is a lobotomy so....

It could be why whoever came up with the idea of the tranquil decided to call them that.

Could also have been a common expression people used for those who had lobotomies.

I don't really know, though. I'm sure Gaider or Laidlaw know what is what.

I suggest you pester them until you have an answer.

it could be that I wanted vsove

the guy who worked on the game and posts here

    to answer

Post a troll thread on bioware's forums. You're bound to get his attention.

    Here's Gaider's email I found on GiantBomb.

There's a mod that replaces Hayder's Razor and the Blood Dragon armor with Meredith's sword and armor.

Doesn't work with male characters, though.

i want a tranquil villain. that seems like it would be a neat thing.

since they have no emotion, it would be all "this is the logical thing, it needs to be done. I take no pleasure in this. I can't" and then he strait up burns down a village.

    problem is

is that tranquil completely lack ambition

any conflict would have to be at the behest of someone else

It would also make for a very boring antagonist.

A Tranquil being manipulated by some other power, though, that could be something.

I could definitely seeing it work as a quest, as long as someone else is pulling the strings

there has not been too much tranquil face time, though it's probably for good reason

Then again, tranquil can't do magic, so I'm not sure exactly how dangerous a single tranquil could really be.

I could see Tiventer mages collecting the tranquil from their own banished or ousted mages.
Some Archmage could create a personal slave guard from them or something.
Maybe throw in Fenris's lyrium markings for good measure.

Things I hope they explore in a future DA game: whether tranquil can be healed, the Tevinter location, whether the Old Gods can be redeemed or purified or whatever, and, of course, the Gold City.

I don't know that we should really get to find out if the Black City was actually the house of the maker, or even golden at some point.

It'd kind of spoil the sense of mystery surrounding it, which is where much of the fun came from in DA:O.

I should read through the codexes for these games some time

I love most of the things in the main game, the small portraits you get of places like Antiva or th little nuggets of history scattered about

but a lot of it feels disconnected and I'm hoping more backstory and information would help tie things together

a nice map would be cool too

The same results could have easily been had with say... a fireball.

Yeah, let's blow a much bigger pathway for the darkspawn to escape from. Or even possibly unseal the bulk of the deep roads, unleashing untold numbers of darkspawn onto the last remaining Dwarf Settlement this side of Thedas.

You realize the deep roads span half the planet, right? And the darkspawn have pretty well overrun the entirety of it, save what the warden helped clear out, and whatever ground Bhelen helps Orzammar gain if he becomes king.

Hey, if you wanna try the impossible task of blowing up the entire deep roads, go right ahead.

It's just that, on the nonexistant chance of success, you're gonna be sinking half of Thedas.
