Tabletop, like all freeplay areas, is open for the entirety of PAX
Awesome! Just to be perfectly concise, if I led a small group of friends to one of these rooms at say, 10pm (FRI or SAT), there would be board games to choose from and play?
Sorry to belabor the point, I just want to be sure!
For the record the games are checked out in TabletopHQ but yes there will be something available to checkout
Anyone know when the passes are going to be mailed out? I recently changed addresses and forgot to change my address on here for a couple of weeks. I want to make sure they didn't get sent out and lost in the mail.
Also from Official_Pax on twitter, they plan on getting the first batches of those out next week. (It's coming!)
I posted here a couple weeks ago asking, and sent an email to SmallLady, asking if they were still accepting new Enforcers, but haven't got a reply, so wanted to check to see if they are still recruiting, or if PAX will be a pass this year for me.

Sorry, I never got an email from you....
However, I have no idea, your best bet is to email the person doing the recruiting. [email protected]

I have a question that I can't find the answer to anywhere, even after hours of scouring...
I know that many conventions (or, at least every convention that I have been to) self-promotion and flyer-passing-out is frowned upon, since that sort of promotion is what exhibitor booths are for, and, of course, no one wants to be harassed with fliers all day. That said, I was curious as to the PAX policies on this matter.
Also, if self-promotion is a no-no, I do know that my local convention (Phoenix Comicon) allows local fliers for bands/game designers/bloggers/web comics to be placed on a few tables outside of Vendor Hall, with prior permission from Phoenix Comicon, of course. Does PAX offer the same?
Thanks!

Nope. Handing out promo stuff if you're not an exhibitor is not allowed.

I am not too sure about this, but I have seen in the previous PAX (outside the exhibit halls) that there are fliers conveniently placed in scattered places (i.e. Tables near food areas, on benches, on top of trash cans, etc) but again, in general is a frowner and kinda a waste of paper. I get that fill-in-blank company wants their name out there, but still. Waste of paper and space.
The Girl Who Gave Everyone the Shortest Jenga Game Ever.
Yeah, as a convention go-er I don't really like to be advertised at all day. I'm there for the event, and there are exhibit halls if I want to see what people are doing. I only asked because I am attending PAX with a group of convention newbies, who refuse to believe the "girl" when she says that you can't self-promote at conventions unless you are an exhibitor, even though I'm the only one in the group who regularly attends conventions. Ah, boys sometimes.
Maybe my searching skills are terrible, but I've been looking and can't find information regarding panels and expo hall recording. I wanted to film most of the expo and some of the panels I'm attending. What are the rules? Thanks in advance!

Depends on lots of things. Some panels encourage you to record snap photos. Others will say no to all of it. Depends on what it is really. Expo Hall is the same they usually will have something telling you its not allowed. For the most part filming is allowed.

Most panels and booths are fine to record/photograph. The only exceptions will have signs up that say "NO RECORDING" or "NO PHOTOGRAPHY". The rule of thumb is, if you don't see a sign saying you can't record, then it's okay to record.
Dropping back to the self-promotion, promoting other things question for a second. Promoting inside is a no-no but you can promote all you want out on the sidewalk outside, however should you choose to do something like that then be prepared to be ignored or even ridiculed. Honestly though, do you want to be part of people also littering flyers about that they really had no interest in anyway; it's bad enough inside with stuff that is from exhibitors. If you're going to do some sort of self promotion outside the convention center, better make it something people want to hold onto or won't toss aside even if they aren't interested in what you're promoting.
It is my understanding that, yes, the rooms are cleared after panels.
With the a few exceptions all panels are cleared prior to letting people in for the next panel. The exception being main theatre keynote does not clear it simply runs into the pa panel.
is there a map of all the convention centre with all the names of the theatres?
It should be released with in a week or two.
I was driving some out-of-towner friends around, and I kept complaining about being blinded. They responded with "You see, where we come from, people tend to wear Sunglasses." I retorted with a simple "You people tend to have sun."
Also at every PAX there is a really awesome booklet that gets handed out that has the complete schedule with descriptions of all of the panels and events, plus a clearly labeled map of the convention center and directions to wherever the concerts are being held.
Rather ask this here than make a new thread for it..
This is my second time attending PAX and last year I noticed the ASTRO PAX gaming headset being sold at the merch booth and thought it looked interesting, but never bought. Well, yesterday I finally broke my regular Xbox headset and decided to invest in something more durable and great in quality. I am wondering if there was going to be a return of a PAX headset at the merch booth or should I just look around at the other company booths that sell some great headsets as well? And if there is a return of the PAX headset and if anyone has purchased, what do you think of it overall?
I have a question about the concerts. In the schedule they have them all on one 'block'. Does that mean if you get into one you get into them all? Or say I only like Artist 2, but I don't really care for artist 1 or 3. Can I just wait in line for his or do I need to watch all of them.

It means that you get into them all - there is one line per concert, one concert per evening, and each concert has several artists.
I'm not interested in a lot of the panels, there's still a lot of stuff to do outside the panels, correct?
As a first time PAX goer last year I got a list of the schedule and worked out all these cool sounding panels I wanted to go to. Practically had all the time slots filled up. This is what I was used to from events I went to for work.. I got to PAX and I think I made it to a total of 2 panels in the entire 3 days there was that much stuff to do. So yes there is a lot to do

As I recall the Astro headset was the "special item" last year but Astro also had a booth and was selling their headsets at a discount as was another vendor. I am hoping they are there again this year as I'd like to get some A40's to go with the A30 PAX set I got last year. They were a great buy and sound real nice but I now want the A40's as they are an over the ear design (A30's are on ear) and are going to be more comfortable for me to wear for a really long time. Be prepared to spend around $130 - $270 for a set depending on the model because you need the headset and the mixamp to use them on your xbox. The PAX booth only sold the headset, you had to buy the mixamp from the Astro both but they discounted it if you bought the PAX headset.
I do not see Astro listed in the sponsor list though so not sure if this means they will not be there or not.

Thanks I will do that. Also someone mentioned there was an enforcer thread at one point, but I haven't been able to find it, where is it at exactly?

Thanks for responding, wasn't sure if it was a "tradition" type of thing as last year was my first time attending. I will keep an eye out though and if not I'll see what the other booths that sell headsets have to offer. I figured it'd be pricey as well, so I will look around and see what looks and sounds best. Thanks again!
As a first time PAX-goer, I checked out the panels and realized there were literally like 20 I wanted to attend, now obviously this means that I'll be cutting some of my start and end times pretty close. I assume I can leave panels early to make it on time for others, but in general, how much time should I leave between panels to line up? I know there's no set time because obviously some panels are larger than others (ie Q&A and acquisitions inc ets.), but lets say this: how long early should I show for your average instructional panel e.g. getting your foot in the door, and how early should I show for one of the extremely popular ones?
Showdeeyah? Showdeeyah? Say it, Frenchie, saaay chowdah!

The unfortunate reality of PAX is that you really can't do everything you want to do. Most panels will require about an hour in the line, and for the extremely popular, you can start lining up after the previous panel lets in.
Good luck though!

If there's room, people will be let in after the concerts start. You're not forced to sit through every single act.

Is there a thread for a overall collection of parties and get togethers for PAX? That would be a pretty nifty thing to have since the PAX_Party twitter is so good.
After perusing the schedule, I noticed that there is no Penny Arcade Q&A on Sunday. Is this the final release of the schedule, or will there still be updates? It just seems a little odd since there's a 3 hour block of nothing at the main theater on Sunday...

Also community driven stuff like the PAX Pokemon League.
Is it the same for PAX? I've been here for 2 years but mainly did exhibition hall though I want to attend panels now so need the 411 on this.

Previous PAXs: PAX Prime 2011, PAX AUS 2013
It should be released with in a week or two.

I don't think there ever was one.
That depends on how quickly each department gets stuff finalized, but tabletop already have their schedule posted.

They're not using guidebook this year. I would guess it will show up on whatever app they're using this year in about a week, maybe two.
