I am curious if the various booths and such around PAX take plastic? I have done some searching so maybe i'm blind but i couldn't find an answer.
You're blind because there's really no consistency in which booths take what... EXCEPT, they all take green cash! Some may take cards (I believe Utilikilts did, since they're selling more pricey products), but am not sure which booth takes what. Stop by an ATM before you enter the convention center, paper money will be accepted convention-wide. If you can't, you may have some trouble buying things.
The unofficial guides for both PAX and PAX Dev are LIVE on Guidebook (formerly Conventionist). We will be updating these constantly as the shows approach, and would love to include fan information such as:
-Tournaments
-Meetups
-Fun things to do around Seattle
-Etc
We build this for you guys, so we want to include as much info that is relevant to your average con-goer. So far I've used some of the information provided in this thread, but we'd love to include more.
I opted for FedEx shipping since I'm from Mexico. My question is, do we get a tracking number or we just have to wait for FedEx to show up at my doorstep?

We get tracking numbers in the emails they send us. I just got mine, so I know.

Wingedillidan is right, everyone takes cash, but a better plan is to stop by an ATM before you get anywhere near the convention center. The ATM's around the convention center area become empty, useless husks rather rapidly.
Hello all, this PAX will be my first PAX ever, and first video game convention ever. I'm a heavy PC gamer with a passion for the industry and I'm very, VERY excited for this trip. I am leaving California on Friday and will get there Friday at 8 PM. I am flying with my dad (I'm 16) and only have Saturday and Sunday badges. I have just a few simple questions:
1. Will I miss anything SUPER important on Friday? (I heard that's the only day when swag bags will be given out, this true?) 2. Regarding these "swag bags", what are they? What do they contain and when/where are they given out? 3. I'm either going to bring a messenger bag or a backpack. Which one? Messenger bags or more comfortable and safe, but I feel like my backpack can hold more stuff. 4. I have this odd, anxious feeling that I'm going to miss out on everything when I go on Saturday+Sunday and not experience PAX fully. Please someone tell me your first-time experience so I can get over this. 5. What's the PC Freeplay area like? Just alot of computers sitting out? Someone please explain this.
Regardless of all my questions, I'm super super excited for this trip. I look forward to seeing you all there. Thanks in advance!
I don't know if this has been asked, but do they take American Express at PAX?
What specifically are you referring too? Depending on what you want to know would depend on the answer. If you mean Vendors then the answer will be with the vendor if they take cards they may still not take AE. If you mean the convention center then I don't recall. In the end I would assume no to CC's in general. There are ATMS available but you will probably have to go outside the convention to find one with money in it.

That all depends on what you consider important. However, there is so much going on at PAX that everyone always has to make compromises and sacrifices. it really isn't possible for anyone to see and attend everything they want to during the weekend because there is just too much awesome stuff going on at all times. Don't be anxious about it, it is just the nature of PAX.

Bring whichever one you are most comfortable with lugging around for the entire two days.
Swag bags are basically filled with marketing stuff. Simple flyers/advertisements, mini-comics, trading cards, codes for things, etc.
Oh, cool! When are they given out and where? Thanks!
There usually handed out in the que room. Sometimes you can find them elsewhere. Sometimes they contain neat stuff like t-shirts as well as all the other stuff. Every year they are different and are based on what companies choose to have put in them. According to Nvida there will be a code in the bag that might match a shirt on someone if it does you win a cool prize.
In the past the keynote led directly into the Penny Arcade Q&A. Will that also be true this year? How about Rooster Teeth which is shortly after the Penny Arcade Q&A?
When can I start lining up for the Wil Wheaton and the Acquisitions Incorporated panels?
As a random aside, why was Wil Wheaton not put in the main theater?

I have a question about my PAX passes in transit through FedEx. (I don't know where to post this, forgive me) I was checking their status and saw this next to the latest update: "Improper or missing paperwork - Missing Commercial Invoice - Contact customer service". Is this PA's bad, FedEx's bad, or my bad?? Also, is that critical?? I'm worried...

Contact FedEx directly. It could be a misscan, it could be the tag got ripped off or smeared in transit. Could be something completely different.

Thank you. Just called FedEx and they told me that it had no Commercial Invoice filled out with it, and that all that was needed to be done was have the sender fill out the invoice. So... Who do I contact about this?

If there's no gap between panels, theater will not emptied, so it's essentially panelpanelpanel.
Generally speaking, you can't line up to a panel before the previous panel's line has cleared, but you should ask an Enforcer working that theater for confirmation.
There is some method to the panel scheduling madness. That's all I'll say.
Is it PAX <insert nearest future PAX here> yet?

nope not in the 3 years ive been just advertised their systems. Besides they're overpriced xD (at least that's my, and many other's opinion) just build your own PC!
Since Dell took over Alienware, quality has also suffered.. that's my opinion anyways. Over priced - yeah I think so too S2000Gan.
I missed last years PAX, but in 2009 they had these little wimpy dudes dressed up in MIB outfits, I had to laugh out loud each time I passed the both. What would be cool is they went more Alien and less MIB, considering they are ALIENWARE not MIBwear. Be a bit more (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0100666/) lol.

Haha, it isn't for me, a friend was asking about it and I honestly couldn't remember, thanks!

Tell him he should build his own PC then!
Honestly I think they'd make more money selling those nice cases xD
Can I let my friend use my 3-day pass for one of the days? I won't be able to make it to the Friday festivities, so was thinking of lending my pass to a friend for that day. I know it says the entire pass can be transferred just by handing it off, but I wondered if they did something to prevent you from letting more than one person use a single pass over the course of the weekend.

Whomever holds the pass, may enter. Those who have no pass in hand, shall not /pass/.

If you have things outside of PAX that you think are relevant to the community, such as:
- Tournaments
- Meet-ups
- Seattle hang outs
- Bar crawls
Etc, let me know either through PM or in this thread and we will add them to the guide!

Will call and registration are located in the ticket kiosk of the WSCC, which is by the loading area in the back of the first floor of the center.

Thank you, Moe, just sent the email.
It would be nice if the Guidebook schedule had the Omegathon rounds in it. They're not on the schedule, but they're on the schedule grid.
