My sister is asking for some music by the group Gaelic Storm for her birthday. I'm not familiar with them.

Can anyone advise me which CD of theirs is best?

This is the one that Allmusic recommends but it's not exactly a glowing review.

    All of them.

no seriously, all of them. I'm trying to remember which one has the Titanic suite...

Herding Cats and Special Reserve are the 2 that I have and I LOVE them.

If she's looking for Celtic Music in general as well as specifically gaelic storm, my next suggestion would be Battlefield band.

They have like 18something CDs out, and I only have like 4 or so, but I love them.

    Happy Daze
    Rain, Hail or Shine
    Leaving Friday Harbor
    Battlefield Band
    Anthem for the Common Man

Those are the ones that I own. Happy Daze and Rain, Hail or Shine are my absolute favorites. But Battlefield Band is more Scottish Celtic, Gaelic Storm is more Irish.

Herding Cats is my fave from gaelic storm

Also, if she wants something fairly interesting but not necessarily 'Celtic' per se, have her check out the Celtic Woman CDs from the PBS special. The first 2. I haven't listened to the 3rd one.

    Hope that helps!

Herding Cats is amazing, but Special Reserve is probably my absolute favorite.

Lonelyahava has pretty much given you all the information you need. Gaelic Storm is an incredible band.

In another suggestion if she's looking for more celtic music, Seth Lakeman is incredible.
