I've been a lurker in this forum for probably too long, but I've finally decided to hop on and seek some advice, crits, and thoughts about my illustrations & drawings. I'll be posting some vector work up here in a bit; in the meantime I figured I should introduce myself via some ballpoint work from my sketchbook.
Thanks for taking a look and I'd love to hear any feedback, advice or recommendations for progressing. I love working in Illustrator for most of my digital work, so I'll be posting some of those very soon. I'm excited to become part of the community.
I'd like to see what kinda vector stuff you have because everything above has a very over-rendered feel to it. The illustrations feel kinda bogged down by all the details and hatching. You've got some neat designs in there, I think they'd benefit from some simplification though.
Thanks EWA: I do tend to go to town on the hatching... I'm addicted to trying to convey volume. I think some simplification could do me some good.

Maybe its late at night, but hairphabet just blew my mind. I must see more of this. I'm pretty sure anybody with hair like a Z is going to look like a stupid jerk. However, one would assume that about G, and that dude is pretty rad...
