So, I really like this idea.

    http://neighborhoods.redeyechicago.com/boystown/community-report/2011/03/24/nations-first-lgbt-homesharing-program-helps-make-ends-meet/

My boyfriend would consider it hell. He's from Florida though, it's given him a thing about old people.

So, which one of those two is the one who hung a dog from a tree in a noose, then beat it to death with rocks while it struggled?

My guess is the one on the left.

    This is excellent news.
Newsweek/The Daily Beast has learned that the heads of two USCIS districts—Washington, D.C. and Baltimore—informed attorneys from the advocacy group American Immigration Lawyers Association that cases in their districts involving married gay and lesbian couples would be put on hold. The news could have far-reaching effects. People like Velandia might be safe from deportation while their cases are on hold.

Outserve, the print magazine for active-duty LGBT service members.

    http://outserve.org/#
"Our first objective with the magazine is to let all the gay, lesbian, bi, and trans members currently serving know that they are not alone. And we also want to communicate to all troops that there are capable gay military members serving honorably, and that accepting that and moving on will make our military stronger. Our goal is to have our next version available in print, at some of the larger military bases. Visibility is key. We are not about highlighting our differences, but demonstrating how LGBT troops are proud soldiers, sailors, airmen, Coasties, and Marines just like everyone else."

According to the group, "The magazine contains features about DADT repeal implementation and OutServe chapters, as well as other information of interest to currently-serving LGBT military members."

    Read more: http://www.towleroad.com/#ixzz1HthaidpD

The first issue is available in pdf format but the following ones will be in print.

And also, teaching about same-sex marriage in schools! This is what they've been trying to warn everyone about! Oh wait, except its by a catholic and he's just teaching everyone that homosexuality is just like alcoholism and homosexuals are only interested in as much promiscuous and anonymous unsafe sex as they can get. Praise jeebus.

Also, with regards to married gay/lesbian couples immigrating (henceforth known as immigaytion), that is actually a pretty close to home problem for me. My brother and his husband, who live in Germany, would like to move to the states so that my brother-in-law can go to college here and earn a second degree and thus make even more money than he already does. The problem is that while gay rights are denied my family members are forever locked in Germany as their permanent residence, since neither Austria (brother-in-law's country) nor the US will recognize their marriage. It's almost like they've had to live in exile to be together.

    Sooo....

Montana House Rejects Bill Decriminalizing Homosexuality
The Montana House blocked efforts to send a stalled bill out of committee for debate by the full House yesterday. The bill, which I've posted quite a bit about, would strike a law from Montana's books criminalizing gay sex. It stalled earlier this month following some hideous testimony smearing gays as HIV-positive tax burdens and pedophiles.

It's an obsolete law, made so by a Montana Supreme Court declaring it unconstitutional in 1997, and the U.S. Supreme Court ruling of Lawrence v. Texas.

Over 10 years later and they can't even bring themselves to even vote on removing it from the books.

They blocked the chance for the vote on removal of a law that can't be enforced anymore. They didn't even let it out of committee.

Oh, and they spent a good chunk of early March spouting hideous anti-gay reasons why.

Wandering the internets I came across this article, "5 Reasons We Shouldn’t Be Surprised that Catholics Support LGBT Rights", which refers to this article, "New Poll Shows Strong Catholic Support for Gay Rights", which is based on this report from Public Religion Research Institute.

I find it unsurprising that they found evidence of a difference in opinion between the church leadership and a large portion of its members, though on this particular issue the data is quite heartening.

Judiciary Chairman Rep. Ken Peterson, R-Billings, who is an attorney, said the Supreme Court didn't find the law unconstitutional. Its ruling held that same-sex adults, in private, not-for-commercial purposes, are protected by the right to privacy, Peterson said. The court didn't say the law was unconstitutional, he said. "It should not be repealed because of situations it might apply in," he said.

So the law might apply to same-sex adults in situations that are non-private or for commercial purposes.
