edit: when equius was introduced we still had the fandom secrets thread
Eridan started as a genocidal douche who was a slightly loser. He developed into a lonely joke who could not get any quadrant filled and was desperate to do so. Eventually Hussie broke out the genocidal complex for some good gags before the huge murder bloodbath. He was drifting away from the original concept but was tossed back to his roots.
Equius started as an overbearing controlling weird friend who was so violent he had to construct robots to fight. He developed into a slave to his fetishes, a goofy guy who didn't really mean harm to anybody and sort of sweated everywhere as everything got him off. He never returned to his introduction concept aside from the single factor of respecting the social order in regards to his superiors.
