I've just found out it's possible to export your friend card in Dissidia 012. Does that mean you can upload the file to the internet using a generic file upload service thing and share it with people?
You could, though I'm not sure how accurate it is in reading your ghost data. I haven't tried it myself, I'm still fiddling around with the Quest feature, because I really want to get something going here.
I wonder if people will make so many quests that a fansite will keep track of it all, or if it'll get ignored by the majority who don't want to add text with the PSP buttons (it's not too bad actually).
Also, turns out this is where the line came from:
Kind of messed up that it's a Moogle who says it instead of, say, Edgar, but they did a similar line with Terra in the last game.
That aside, Tifa has been accurately billed as the "tough chick" in the game, and no one's made any derogatory remarks otherwise.
one Moogle asks if she's cold while wandering the snowy area, but that's a totally valid question.
Still wish they did a better job with her proportions in cutscenes. I can't tell if the cutscene and battle models are completely different. I know for a fact they're different with each costume.
OK, well I uploaded it. I included a readme file which may or may not be helpful, but forgot to mention you import it from the Communications menu, IIRC it's the bottom option.
I heard it's a great way to farm rare items. You equip a bunch of rare items, or stuff made with rare mats, put them on a character with junk skills, and then you can battle the ghost and battlegen to your hearts content.

Okay, here's mine. It was a pain to find the correct folder from my PSP saves. Is there an easier way to locate them?
It should be one of last modified things in the folder, so if you list the items by when they were last modified you can just look at the top/bottom of the list for it.
I still wish the game had a proper online mode where you could trade this kind of data wirelessly and effortlessly.
It's my sincere hope that Square comes up with an XBLA/PSN version with upscaled visuals and online multiplayer. I bet it would be easy as hell to make and would be damn popular.

Yeah, it's a bit daft that it's still so awkward to do stuff like this in Space Year 2011.
Perhaps you'll find the answers to your Rydia questions in the Interlude bit in FFIV: Complete. You might have to wish on the evening star for it though.
MLAADL is something like 60 bucks when you buy everything.
All that DLC really adds up doesn't it? Makes me wonder why they didn't eventually give those things full retail releases. After Years wound up being priced the same as a retail DS or PSP game with every chapter.
Playing against Kefka on Hard makes me want to smash this game into bits, and reminds me why I hate the higher end stuff.
I block his attack, I still get hit. I dodge his attack, I still get hit. The chase mechanic has been so tweaked out, that you need the reflexes of The Flash. If you don't dodge the second the enemy moves, you get hit. Unless it was a HP attack, in which case you really had no way of knowing and you're still getting hit.
Fuck. I need to put this game down before I completely lose it.

Aww, c'mon Snugs, aren't you at least a little bit curious?
I'd like to be the guy who travels to the bottom of the earth to serve a subpoena for King Leviathan to appear in court for his illegal capture of a minor, followed by her forced entry into prostitution (which I can only assume by the way he dresses her).

Put it on normal or easy and/or grind the shit outta your dudes if its too hard. Remember, Dissidia only thinks its a fighting game, its really just an RPG that you can move in.
And yeah, I totally sympathize. The AI in this game can make the whole experience completely unfun.
And after you dodge the ice, what do you do about the 5 pellets that still hit you in the back no matter what you do? Either way, I eventually got him. Spamming Meteor Rain that he couldn't fully dodge, thus cheesing the fight. :?
And then the next fight was fucking Golbez and his "I can hit both short and long range with the same attack, so you're fucked no matter what you do".
I'm trying to go through the standard Hard Arcade mode for the prize at the end. Ended up just quitting that run and restarting, and finally got it. And funnily enough, I got Kefka again, only this time he was tons easier. Mainly because the previous time was on a wide open map with zero cover, and this time was on the moon, where I had some fricking cover from his spells.

I still have some questions about quest creation, if anyone here knows about it.
1. Do you unlock more features for the quests, such as additional dialog lines or conditions?
2. Is there a way to lock in the parameters for characters? Like, if I specifically wanted a character to have a certain Assist or costume for each battle? If so, how do I specify this?
3. How exactly do you "lose" a quest? I know you can forfeit battles, but what conditions are there to failing it completely?
4. Does Aerith have a Dissidia portrait you can unlock (in the character icons)?
5. Is chapter 8 the last chapter for the 012 story mode? If so, how long is it?

1: I saw no unlocks pertaining to the quest system, either before or after I finished the main story.
2: ???
3: ???
4: ???
5: 8 is the last chapter, and it's about as long as any of the others. The gateway at the end goes down about 3 levels, but that's about it.
I've a feeling you might be the only one who gives a toss about the quest system. Seems pointless to me personally. A bunch of amateur dialog, coupled with a fight. And I've got to make it myself? Don't know what the point is, I'd sooner just do a quick battle.

I am playing final fantasy 10 for the first time in aboot 10 years because I never really gave it a chance even though it was one of the only final fantasies that I beat.
Gotta say I really like it. Now that I'm a grown man with emotions other than being mad at my parents and wanting boobs, I feel like I relate to tidus pretty well. His plight kind of reminds me of your first day at a new job where you know it's going to suck and you're probably going to do it for the rest of your life but you keep at it because you have high hopes and good coworkers.
What I'd really like to know about the interim between FF IV and After Years is: How the hell did Porom get pink hair all of a sudden? She doesn't seem to me like the kind of person who would dye it; what, did she get a class change that caused it to happen? A bizarre result of hitting puberty? You don't just go from brunette to pink without a darn good reason.
On the subject of DLC, is the Dissidia Desu-desu stuff supposed to be free, or is it premium?

The point is for making glorified fanfics, and I'm personally interested in it as well as I'm sure others here are too.
I feel a certain sense of responsibility to get one out to potentially show how fun it could be, before other people with horrible grammar skills and/or dirty minds scare everyone away with their attempts.
I could potentially get it done quicker if I knew how to customize the gameplay elements. I would especially like to know how to lock in assists (so that the chosen character must be paired with the assist of my choice) along with setting the right conditions for victory and/or failure.
For example, how about a battle where the condition to losing is having the enemy attack your assist? And to further keep folks on their toes, make it so the assist is called out automatically.
Supposedly both options are doable, I just need to figure out how to do it.
On the subject of DLC, is the Dissidia Desu-desu stuff supposed to be free, or is it premium?
A bit of both, I'd imagine.
What I'd like to know is if we'll get more singleplayer content? I'd love for more self-contained quests (official ones) that expanded the interactions between the characters, and possibly open up the world map further.
Shade Impulse in this one plays out like you're going through it with everyone at once, so regardless of which 5 people you use to go through to Chaos you get everyones special cutscene with their respective villain, regardless of whether or not you brought them with you or fight said villain with them.
Also, I've done 012 and 013 and I'm missing 3 Reports. Anyone know how you get those?

Couple observations from the Video Games Live concert I went to today:
-Not much FF music. An extremely skilled pianist did a rendition of a few tracks, including Forever Rachel, Melodies of Life, and Julia.
-Second-to-last song was Advent Children's One Winged Angel, finale was Scars of Time from Chrono Cross. It was amazing. Great violin.
-No game footage from Square games. I wonder why. Kind of ruined the effect of OWA. They just showed cosplayers. Much of which was sloppy.
For example, how about a battle where the condition to losing is having the enemy attack your assist? And to further keep folks on their toes, make it so the assist is called out automatically.
Ew, that sounds absolutely horrible. Don't do this.

Okay so I got the new Dissidia cause Wal-Mart had it for $30 for some reason.
Never played the first game and I know pretty much dick-all about it, should I be playing the old story mode first or what?
I'm a stickler for playing things "in order".
"Some reason" being that's the price of the game. :P
The old story doesn't even unlock until you've beaten the new bit. So you're essentially forced to play the story in order, so you don't have to worry about that.

Oh, so the new one takes place before the old one?
And I guess I thought $40 was generally what PSP games cost here in Canadaland. Shows how much I buy PSP games.
Hah, a canuck too, huh. Yeah, this is surprisingly cheap for whatever reason. I'd reckon because they know it's essentially a glorified expansion pack with the original game packed in.
But yeah, the story flow goes Ch. 12 (the new stuff, a prequel), then Ch. 13 (the original Dissidia game, but gussied up with new bells and whistles). And after 12 is beaten, there's a Ch. 0 you can unlock. Which I guess is how it all started, but so far there's been a whole lot of nothing going on from what I've played.

SEnix has started releasing all their NA PSP games for $30. It's probably because the PSP has been doing so poorly here combined with new systems coming out.

they partially recreate the Tifa/Cloud dialog during their time alone before FFVII's final battle, only this time replacing Cloud with Lightning.
Somewhere a collective of obese yuri fans are typing away their fanfiction, and a horde of internet goers await with bated breath to masturbate to it.
I finished 012's story mode. I really wish it were longer, as the interaction of 012's characters far, far, far eclipse 013's main heroes. It was awesome seeing how these different heroes could get along to the point of becoming a family, and made the last few moments particularly poignant.
It was basically them resigning themselves to death. I don't get what Cosmos did, and why the 012 heroes were whisked away as a result. Do the other story bits expand on this?
Also, Cloud fans have a reason to celebrate: he gets what is far the manliest moment in the entire game.
taking on the motherfucking god of discord by himself just to save the woman he loves. Goddamn, son.
