One of my favorite cartoons is actually Starcom: The US Space Force. Lots of danger from the usual suspects - Emperor Dark, robot minions, etc; but also from little things like lack of oxygen.

William Hartnell (the First Doctor)'s final story, and the first appearance of the Cybermen. Like many Hartnell/Troughton episodes, the last episode, the one with the regeneration, is missing.

i prefer the movie to the book, actually.

Never read the book, never felt compelled to.

For me the movie has this odd pseudo-nostaligia quality. Something about the narration and cinematography speaks to the kind of innocence and wonder it's referring to.

This protracted email argument with my brother about internet security is pretty lol. He had the root key to our home server because, you know, he's family. It's not exactly surprising that it took me a bunch of time to kill off his SSH sessions and lock him out because they show up as root, I'm using SSH AS root, and it's implicit that he won't start using my home directory and it's collection of unencrypted SSH keys to retain root access via root access.

Because Emerson and later on the Pragmatists sort of made inconsistency somewhat of a virtue for an enlightened individual, unless you don't subscribe to that notion
