I was going through my Amazon recommended and saw DDS 1, 2 and Nocturne there for way cheaper than they had been before, snapped up all three for £20 total.
Is Devil Survivor 2 a 3DS game or a normal NDS game? Is Radiant Historia worth importing and paying 50% of its price again on stupid customs fees?
And do Atlus have any plans on opening a Europe branch? It'll be a shame if I'm no longer able to support them going forward because of the 3DS's region locking.
Hilarious mental image aside, it's fitting because MC can cook.
That's the plan. There ought'a be a law against doing things like that to curry.

See, that entire event pissed me off more than any other. We ate their Mystery Food X, we put up with them in our tent because of how they hit an idiotic Kanji and couldn't put up with their tent-mate's snoring, and they DARE push us into freezing vomit water for making them wear nice swimsuits and compliment them!? Bitches...

Yeah, but the MC did nothing wrong in this situation, and they push him in anyway.
Well the MC was an idiot and actually responded to Yosuke's dumbass question. It's his fault for being friends with a creepy little bikini buying baby that can't take a little water (before the HILARIOUS reveal) or take a taste of his own medicine in stride later on without chugging red bulls and brofisting everybody in a 5 mile radius to prove he isn't gay.

All he did was lay on the guilt trip and compliment their figures. Considering he does that on a regular basis, I don't see the problem, really. Actually, I like it whenever Yosuke snaps at the protagonist for saying something that really shouldn't have been said/makes a silly or poor choice as leader. It's a hilarious change of pace.
E.G:
Yosuke: Hey, what should we do?!
Protagonist: *Let Yosuke decide*
Yosuke: Man, don't pass the buck!

MC: Tell us miss, what brings you here tonight?!
Protagonist: A girl I like signed me up.
Yosuke: That's not really something you should be saying right now!

Do what I do and import massive amounts at one (999 and Rune Factory 3 , for instance) to save on the customs.
Specifically buying bikinis and bringing them along to guilt girls into wearing them doesn't strike you as even a LITTLE bit creepy?
Look- Yosuke was being a pervert, and a harmful one at that. Nobody ever "owes" anyone anything in that sense. Sure, he wasn't asking for sex, but that's only because that scene was supposed to be humorous and him doing that would instantly disqualify him from party member status.
Started up a game in P3P last night as the Female character. After I finished P4 last week, I've just been jonesing. Haven't played P3 since it's release, so even if I went with just the Male character again, things would still feel new-ish to me right now anyway. I'm liking the new music a lot so far.
I watched the giant bomb quick look of it, and I have to admit, I busted out laughing at the battle rap music too. Still awesome!
So I decided to play Persona 3 Portable while on the go. I had snagged it before the entire PSN debacle started, but had misplaced my Go charger (Yes, I am of the elite few).
I went, "Well, I've done a fair bit with Persona 4, and after all, P3P apparently is easier due to it having Persona 4's advances! I'll do hard mode my first play through"
This was my fatal error.
It costs all my cash to call forth 1 Persona from the compendium, but that's not that bad. Money seems a lot easier to come by in this game.
However, then I hit floor 17.
I don't make it to floor 18, not even after 4 tries.
Just got to the summer festival in P4. Teddie, you magnificent bastard. I read your book!
I'd like it if these events were a bit more interactive. "Look, yukata!" and some dialog and then it's over. Let me walk around and talk to people, or a cut scene of everyone watching fireworks together.
Also, what's with all the summer festival scenes where the girls get all dressed up and the guys don't do squat? What a bunch of slackers.
Yosuke defenders are the creepiest people. I mean, I like Yosuke as a character, but I like him as a character because he's such a horrible person.
This. He's a massive prick in the way that 16 year old boys pull off oh so well.
Yosuke's a good guy when he's not being such a creepy idiot. It'd be nice to have the option on occasion to pimpslap the stupid out of him.
Yosuke: You can't cook, you won't get naked... What are you even good for?!
*Nod
*Say nothing

It was creepy. But prior to the two "incidents" the day before, he probably just planned on begging them to get in the suits. It doesn't make sense, but then again, half this game doesn't make sense. There's a part where half of them get drunk even though they haven't had a sip of alcohol. If Yosuke is gonna be a perverted teenager archetype character, big deal. No need to get worked up over it, though.
So I've been watching the Persona 4 endurance run and I've been really enjoying it, but I'm so far into it now that I doubt I'd have any fun playing the game myself knowing everything that's going to happen. I see Persona 3 FES for only 20 dollars on Amazon though. Worth getting or is it too big a step backwards? I know absolutely nothing about Persona other than what I've seen in the ER.
Yeah I don't have a PSP otherwise I'd probably go that route. Not having control over the party members sucks but I guess it can't be helped. I'll pick up the PS2 version, even though my PS2 is almost 10 years old and makes weird noises. If it's anything like P4 (and it looks to be very similar from screenshots) I'll probably enjoy it.
Just wait until they start stripping enemies of elemental resistances when you'd much rather they cast -kaja/-kunda spells.

I still have nightmares from vanilla P3 AI.
No, Mitsuru, he's weak against ice...don't use Marin Karin.

ATLUS press release circa P3's initial release: "Our new AIFU system is designed so that NPCs will actually learn enemies weaknesses in battle, specifically so they can never, ever use that spell again causing you, the player, to curse the heavens as you die and have to re-do the last three hours of grinding. Hence, we call this system 'AI Fuck You' or 'AIFU' for short."
You know. I honestly have NEVER had these problems in persona 3. Outside of one odd quirk with Aigis never attacking one specific enemy, they never do anything stupid.
Mostly because I actually BOTHER to set their tactics.

They still do stupid things even with the right tactics set. I had forgotten about this until I played FES after beating P3P.

Dammit, Yukari, why is it when your wind attacks have no effect, you'll automatically standby, but when I put you on full healing duties and you have no healing to do, you decide to attack?! I fucking HATED the AI in P3.

I think P3 is overall a stronger game than P4(mostly since it was fresh whereas P4 improved on it), so you're not missing out at all.
And even if you are watching the ER, you can still play P4 knowing that you won't make the same mistakes those guys did, and play it your own way.
I still think Persona 4 is better, mostly because the characters are way, way, way, waaaay better.
Junpei is by far the best character in Persona 3, mostly because he acts like a real person instead of an anime stereotype. The characters in Persona 3 can be cool, but they are pretty unrealistic and lacking in depth. The whole carpe diem, momento mori theme is awesome, but there's no way those characters would overcome their hardships and go on to fight so easily. At least, not EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.
In Persona 4, psychological issues are not a hurdle on a path to becoming a stone cold badass. The turning point in each of the characters is not them "getting over" their problems, but acknowledging them. Because people don't always do huge 180s in growing up.
The characters in 4 also work with real issues. Complicated stuff. Not just "seize the day." Even the fucking mascot character is more human than the majority of P3's cast. Overall, because both games lean so heavily on their characters, this major difference brings P4 miles ahead of its predecessor.

I think the biggest plus to P3's narrative(aside from the ominous style) is that there's a lot more at stake.
As much as P3's cast are comprised of stereotypes, it's hard to hate anyone of them for it.

But it's so much more hilarious when you and Kanji rush for the guys' seats, leaving Yosuke holding the bomb, so to speak.

I wouldn't call him a horrible person.
When it counts he's a good guy who you can trust to have your back.
It's just that when it doesn't he has this difficult to resist urge to act like a jackass.

The universe itself seems to do a pretty good job of it.
The biggest differences is that Persona 3's party members are AI controled (Unless you pick up the PSP port) and is more strict with Social Links.
No, Mitsuru, he's weak against ice...don't use Marin Karin.

Kanji roughly makes up for Shinjiro.
There isn't really an Akihiko factor, though.
