That first boss fight was fun for me, because I figured I just had to run by him.
Then when I realized I had to kill him, I laughed and backtracked, then buried him.
He only took out two demons on the way across.
Also, Day 2's boss is down, here's a hint:
Ignore the orbs. Rush the boss and blitz him. Bring an Angel with Force Dance if you can, it'll do massive damage to him.
Couldn't hurt to bind the orbs along the way, of course.
Hell,
you don't have to ignore the orbs. They don't attack back, so if you kill one, it's like free EXP.
BTW, cj, did you manage to save Keita?
Yeah, but it's time wasted that could be spent killing the boss.
And yes I did. Man's a physical beast.
I'm not saying you should drag on the fight for that purpose. But there's no harm in taking out at least two and getting the EXP.
Also, regarding the second thing, I'm so jelly. Oh well, I got MC and Jungo (or Daichi and Makoto in emergencies). That should be enough for me.
Holy Shit, though, Daichi can be an absolute beast with Agi-based Phys attacks. You slap him with Tailwind and give him Multi hit, he will wreck up an enemy unit's shit. Jungo is no different. When he joins, he has almost all low stats, but 20 effing STR!!!

Put Grimoire and +stone on Daichi with that for fun times.

I just got an email 'teasing' SMT Imagine. Hasn't that game been out for years now?
I hear they're taking it over from Aeria.
They are. I was talking with Adellios in the steam chat a few days ago about the game, Went to the site for curiosity's sake, and Atlus is taking over.
However, only accounts that LOGGED IN between now and the move are getting transfered aparently, so if you actually want to keep your stuff in that game, you'd probably better sign in and do something for good measure.

Hmm...do I want to download a shitload of updates just to keep my Joyful Alice? Or do I let my account expire so I can start fresh when it hits AO? Decisions, decisions...

Which basically ruined my chance of going back to it, because that was the single demon I wanted more than anything else
Well not to worry. You could spend...50 bucks in one of Aeria's horrid tiered spender events, and get one that way?
Oh god, I will be GLAD to see those GONE. Hopefully Atlus'll have a decent cash shop scheme.

I never spent a dime on that game. Still log in every now and then for a random dungeon run or just to see the sights. Atmospherically speaking, it's a good looking game.
And yeah, Alice. :P My party, offhand, is pretty much unchanged from the last year or so:
Power, Freya, Alice, Phoenix, Uriel.
Whoever allowed all that crappy fanart into the game hopefully leaves with Aeria. Yeesh.
Not sure if the English version has it but you can fuse a regular Alice (and fiends) through some sort of mcguffin collect-a-thon unlock quest. It's been a while so I dont remember specifics.
There wont be much changing probably since it's still CAVE who is still developing it. The skill levelling system is still the worst and I hate it.
3rd-year anniversary coupons have a bunch of fun costumes in them (SMT:2 protags, Devil Surivior, etc.) I think everyone got them so it might be worth a look.

You might have had to log in during a certain period, cause I don't have anything like that, I don't think. I could check.
Devil Survivor Overclocked seems to be pretty rare already. I don't even have a 3DS yet. Hmmpf. I should pick it up anyway, maybe, before I can't find it anymore.
OT: Is DS2 harder than DS1? I know the DS games are considered easy for this series (or for Atlus in general), but i was still curious.
Yes, it can be. The AI tends to be a little smarter, but there are certain situations that require planning simply due to the way that the fights are set up. The first boss is a good example of this. Specifically:
He's 15 levels above you and is immune to all damage at the outset. He comes with a host of lesser, more level appropriate demons, and although he doesn't move, he can attack up to halfway across the map and will pick a character on his turn and one shot one of the demons in their party with a high level fire attack.
Go fig, you have to actually make it past him to the other side of the map, to trigger and event that cripples the boss to about 1/3 of its health and makes it vulnerable to damage. It's still 15 levels above you and capable of one-shotting anything it attacks, however.
I actually only lost two units in that battle--a pixie and a kobold--and probably would have done even better if I remembered to use Ghost Wound or whatever it's called to reduce its attack range. I don't know if I was way overleveled or what, though. I think I was around 7 or 8 with all my human members
That works on him? I remember casting that or Bind on him, but he seemed to shrug it off.

I don't know if it works on him. Like I said, I forgot to try it. :P It's easy enough to not lose any units to him in the escape portion, anyway, so it's not like it's an issue if it doesn't.

No, it doesn't work on the Septembers, I tried it on the later ones and it gives something along the lines of 'no effect'.

You probably would be wise to do that. Atlus already manufactured a second print after it disappeared once before. Atlus isn't known for doing large runs either, so they probably won't do it again.
How is Overclocked? I don't want to miss out on it either, but it seems silly to buy an updated version of a game I've already beaten when I still haven't gotten the sequel to that game.

It basically has all of the improvements introduced to DS2, woven into DS.
From the gamefaqs board:
- 8th day content: four new scenarios to experience
- Demon Compendium: allows you to register and re-summon demons
- Skills and demons: new ones added, some old ones tweaked
- Voice acting: very extensive, covers all the scene dialogue
- Graphics: everything was re-drawn at a higher resolution
- Opening movie: it's new and in 3D!
- Unlockable titles: for the OCD completionists
- Easy mode: gives you more macca and experience
- Three save slots
Currently in Day 2 of DS2. I'm noticing that I'm regularly summoning demons from my stable and sending them into the meat grinder now. I need to actually see what I can fuse and get over not having a compendium.
I think I might make a new thread though. Now that the arcade release is out there's alot of info flowing in and I think this game will appeal to more than SMT fans.
Thanks to jourdal from dustloop for the link, here's nakajoy's youtube channel, which has the videos in 720p 30fps. Still has artifacting and not in glorious native 60fps, but then again it's youtube.

Really...that could be interesting.
They should turn it into an iOS MMORPG you can play through your iPhone and do alternate reality LARP persona battles with real people in real life.
Or...maybe not.

...This is actually possibly one of the greatest ideas I've ever heard.
