The only normals of Taskmasters that are ass are the ones that don't use his sword, and I think that's just his light normals. His medium and heavy normals are fast, hit hard, and cover an enormous range. Then there's his command normals, specifically Charging Star and Spidey Swing that are a whole other animal. Plus, he has like 1,100,000 health.
They were good Zero players too. Apparently Cleveland just has a large Zero population, according to the organizer I hung about with. She said he isn't nearly as popular in any of the other locations she hosted in, and neither was Taskmaster.

Seeing magneto air combo someone to Gravity Squeeze is infuriating to play against and watch but it's fucking pretty to watch

Yeah, Taskmaster is (in the current metagame lolol) definitely top tier. I suppose I should back that up with some sort of evidence, but I'm just so ... lazy ...
From my experience with Zero, most of the people that play him are a lot like Marn in that HE is their team (Marn's Magneto is decent, but his Sentinel is just so-so). I've discovered that a lot of times if you just blow your load on Zero (tons of meter and an early x-factor, and he has no HP, so ...), you can neuter their team and the rest of the match is fairly easy.
Of course, that's just baseless anecdotal stuff, so take it however you want, but it's worked for me.
Kinderparty, why didn't you teleport more with Dormammu? I understand that teleports and teleport traps don't work nearly as well offline, but you can spam flame carpets, dormamu's nukes, and his medium teleport against an advancing Haggar and grind him down to nothing without taking any damage.
Being at the tournament and, especially, being on the stream, can sometimes make you more cautious then you should be. I know I've made dumb mistakes and people against me (Noel Brown at my first tournament) make dumb mistakes as well (his was assuming I was a noob and not using his main against me).
I haven't watched it yet ("at work"), but Kinder probably was just overthinking it.

Yeah no I definitely panicked. I forgot I even had the charges stored with Dorm and several times I tried to push back hyper and just flubbed inputs. I've never been on a stream before and certainly have never been past 0-2 in a tournament. It was good, though, and I'll be ready for it again in a couple of weeks.
I should also note that earlier in the tourny I scoped him out dismantling a Dormammu who was abusing teleport, so I was intensely afraid of using it against him. Later I found out that he was actually just throwing out moves and not anticipating anything at all.
Have you ever thought about using Arthur as your anchor? There was a guy at the last WNFs that did that and it was almost unstoppable. I always thought Arthur was garbage, but he's a monster with gold armor and x-factor 3.

So C. Viper's Heavy Thunder Knuckle feint still hits and launches the enemy.

Most of C. Viper's feints can be timed such that they still hit the enemy before they're canceled. It gives a ridiculous amount of frame advantage.
I think someone was doing this to me online, they were using her projectile one and keeping my character locked down after the first one was knocked out.
