Can the quests have different outcomes, though? Because I had this one instance where I would have two quests at once that basically determined the fate of a certain NPC.
I'm pretty sure there are quests out there with diffirent outcomes.
At one point I encountered an NPC who couldn't decide whether become a soldier or an artist. I encouraged them to become a soldier and since then they've been walking around in army fatigues (also their portrait on the Affinity web changed to a more 'military' look). I'm fairly certain this would not have happened if I'd encouraged them to become an artist.
Also, saying that Quests with a watch icon next to them are 'timed' is, perhaps, misleading. It only means that the quest can become unavailable. There are quests out there that are mutually exclusive and they, too, have the watch icon simply because when you finish one you can't finish the other because, well, they're mutually exclusive.
And if you went the other way, you would have got another quest.
PS. I just found out that you can add stuff to your collectopedia which hands out free items. Forty-five hours in.
I just learned that characters who belong on the regional affinity chart show up on the minimap as blue squares...seventy hours in. Bonus points for those that noticed that people who want to move to Colony Six don't show up, but do have names.
On a break - fucking hell Valak Mountain is big - and downloaded the sountrack off Club Nintendo. Everyone knows Gaur Plain, but these are pretty gud too:
Oh, for... I've been trying to download that thing since August 19th, but it just won't let me. The download just stops at around 25 Mb or, worse, around 90 Mb.
Man the game just wanted me to break it for awhile when at the same time it handed me two 95% level 3 ether up crystals, a pair of glasses with an ether v gem socketed, and the tomb of advanced summon bolt moments after I got a gigantic dump of AP from questing without her for about 15 hours...

I just learned over 20 hours in there's a FREAKING fast travel menu listing ALL the regions. I didn't have to manually fast travel through each previous zone! DAMMIT!

I know someone who is ahead of me in the story mind you that didn't know about any form of fast travel at all and didn't until he saw me do it. He was around 87 hours in.
Another mindblowing feature: The game remembers what clothing a character was wearing whenever a flashback takes place.
Everytime they show anything to do with that scene both Shulk and Fiora look like they've just come off the beach. AWESOME.
Unfortunately, the same is true for visions of the future. The first time you see that vision, the characters will be wearing what they're wearing now. If you see that vision again later on in the story, the characters in the vision will still be wearing what they'd been wearing back then, but not what they're wearing now (and certainly not what they'll be wearing when the future actually arrives).
But the consistent clothing in the flashbacks is awesome, yes.
Does Xenoblade play fine with Wii remote and nunchuk? All the videos I've seen show classic controller buttons, but I don't have one of those. I guess the bundle with the red classic controller was a preorder only thing, because it is expensive as fuck on Amazon.

I have been given to understand that it plays fine with the Wii remote and nunchuck. The only complaint I've heard is that the camera control can get kind of finnicky with this set-up because you've got to press the C-button and... erm... use either the D-Pad or the nunchuk stick.
There are really only two things the game is missing:
a) Some kind of weapon/armour crafting system, given that you have a main character who is an engineer, and monsters dropping materials used to make weapons

Why not get a classic controller? They're outstanding. :x
What vagrant_winds said. The Classic Controller Pro feels light and comfortable. For this game, and definitely for Monster Hunter Tri, it's highly recommended.

I said the same thing about Lymle in SO4...
I had finally forgotten about that game. Thank you, Morvidus. You and I are now enemies.
My life will be a little better if I can purge my memory of that game and Infinite Undiscovery.

Riki is amazing and says amazing things, especially when as a wingman for taking quests. One Bird Person wants to disect him, multiple other nopons want to use him as bait, etc.
Last Remnant was outstanding if you like SaGa games, unique battle systems, and played the remake on PC.
If you played the 360 beta version... well, sucks for you man.
The good news: I have a Wii again, much earlier than expected.
The bad news: Seems something's wrong with my Wiimote or the sensor thingy because it asks me to press A to continue and when I do that nothing whatsoever happens.
Someone really doesn't want me to play Xenoblade, it seems.

Did you use the sync buttons on the Wiimote and Wii?

Does your Wii remote have a single blue light or does it flash all four? If the latter then you need to sync it to the system.
I'm gotta say, I'm positively surprised by how well-received this game is. For once being in Europe and owning a Wii pays off!
I'm rather broke at the moment but I'll probably grab this one at some point.
Also, how long is this game? Anything below 50 hours is pretty meh for an RPG, imo.
Meh, just found out this game doesn't support Gamecube controllers
So would you guys suggest getting a Classic Controller or does it play just fine with Wiimote + Nunchuck?
The CC takes a bit of time getting used to, since you use the dpad to select commands and the dual analog to move around and change camera positions. The remote and nunchuck however require you to hold down a button to move the camera, which I imagine is a fair bit clunkier, and you really have to move the camera during battle to get a good overview and attack the side or back of enemies.
To be more clear, with the wiimote+nunchuck you can move and select commands but not move and change the camera. With the classic controller you can move and change the camera position but not move and select commands. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Disagree. CC is much better. Not unplayable with Wii Remote and Nunchuck though, but not ideal. Still I suggest everyone who can give it a shot both ways (Same with the voice acting really)

Ah, that was actually going to be my next (and final for now) question
I usually prefer the original Japanese, but occasionally there are some real gems, dubbing wise (e.g. Persona 4).
Do note that if you do choose Japanese from the start, and you have some knowledge in anime, something important pertaining to the plot will be spoiled and it will be very obvious. Luckily, I didn't change it until after a certain someone joined the team, so I didn't get it immediately. Just a fair warning.

Whenever you hear the words "Fast Travel" in an RPG, you must immediately TEST IT OUT.

I'm really struggling here. There are things missing, like a beastiary or the ability to auto-equip items from shops.
But regardless, I might just give this game a perfect score. I'm having trouble talking myself out of it.

And for the record, only one RPG I've reviewed has received a perfect score to date.
Let's see if anyone's kept track of my stuff long enough to know which one that may be.

That and Last Remnant are the reasons JRPGs aren't priority on current gen consoles, methinks.
The Raid
? Last Remnant was great. Course, the main charachter is the annoying one there but nearly every other charachter is pretty awesome.
