Okay, so I'm still nowhere near finished with this video, but I'd like to get some feedback on what I currently have so far.
It's only about 24 seconds, but if there are any obvious problems (some of which I'm already aware of) I'd appreciate hearing about it before I'm much farther along, and too exhausted from working on it to give a shit about fixing something at this early point in the video.
4.) I have to ask, how do you feel about your fandom nowadays? Were not too disturbing are we?
4a.) Meh, it ain't no thang. Parts of the MLP fandom were too disturbing before FIM even started. Do you think YOU'RE too disturbing? Live and let live.
7.) d'you like the fanarts? the 'bad' ones? not badly drawn, but the horror-inducing ones, like Dead Space crossovers.
7a.) Frickin' love the fanart. I love that I'm part of a production that gets fanart MADE. And.. the volume. Holy crap.
5.) When you're working on the show, what's your daily schedule like? Are you going into work 9-5-ish, or do you have completely bonkers hours, or what?
5a.) In layout we get paid from 9-6, and most people manage to keep those hours. A few people work longer, others a little less. Animators... worked their asses off all the time. A lot of people stayed late very frequently, a lot of people worked weekends, too.
1.) Is looking at 4chan at your studio considered strange?
1a.) Meh, when Applebuck Season aired, the director sent out a studio-wide IM broadcast sending everyone to 4chan to see the feedback.
Ah, so the general timespan to make a single 20 minute episode is still around a year? I guess that's not a surprise since they put a lot of obvious work into the show.
That also means that any creative decisions they make in response to the fandom's reaction and such would probably be delayed by at least that long. Unfortunate.

A fellow brony with more math inclination than I went and proved that Rainbow Dash makes the laws of physics her bitch.
Some of those questions are confusing. Like what was the deal with the Dragon Age 2 comment? Was he comparing it to MLP: FiM or just asking Flash what he thought of it?

Now this is the kind of fandom over-thinking that I find particularly cool.
Well they don't call it a sonic rainboom for nothing.
And after reading that interview, that bit about the McDonald toys, I would have gotten one. Just walked up to the McDonalds cashier and give him my wallet for Fluttershy.

Kind of funny. I found a Fluttershy toy that looked like it was one of those McDonald toys just sitting around on a bench outside a pizza place I went out with my family and friends over the weekend. It was 8 PM and no kids were around so I swiped it. I now have a Fluttershy looking down at me in my room.

4.) You said other animators draw off-coloured pony art. Any chance of sharing some of those?
4a.) Haaaaaahaha, no way in hell. That kind of thing doesn't even last long around the studio, really. Not everyone's into it.

Sort of...want.
I know the Rugrats guys did that too, and one even got posted on the internet. Apparently it's really common with kids shows. for them to draw adult stuff with their characters.

Wow, really?
I can kindof imagine it, though; I saw some old Rugrats recently, they got away with some risque shit: there's one where Tommy decides they shouldn't wear clothes anymore, right? So they all nude up - when one of the twins gets naked, they all stare at her and Tommy goes "Hey Lil, can I ask you a question?"

Aw jeez was it that good? I thought it was going to be a typical... (haven't watched the episode but given the premise I can see where its going, spoiler'd just in case)
"OH WHY DOES NO ONE WANT TO COME TO MY PARTY?!" "OH, they were just doing stuff on their own so they can throw ME a party"
It's totally predictable, but the execution is awesome.
When she does see the surprise party, she initially thinks they're throwing her a 'farewell' party because they don't want to be her friends anymore. So, half subverted.
There are SO MANY amazing faces that Pinkie Pie makes in this episode. I can't wait until some of them surface, I may actually end up making an avatar out of them, some of those faces were pure MALICE, it was glorious.

that's like the norm in japan. a lot of times that's where the anime originates from
They did such a great job with the little touches in this episode, tiny things like an eye blink being slightly off synchronization just sells the overall feeling.

That and the background slowly turning into a Pollock painting were masterful touches. I was completely surprised that they even went with the Pinky snapped route.

Actually, I think I like the scenery more than that Applejack.

And, man, that is long time to make an episode. Anyone know how that compares to claymation and CGI stuff?

Finally got around to check that out, ended up listening to For the Lunar Republic for half an hour on loop. I approve deeply.
I am pretty certain that someone from these very forums did those.

I trust that you're not talking bad about Duckman.

if they ever wise up and release a Pinkie toy paired with Gummy, I am buying that shit. I don't even care if it's a brushable pony.
