I'm not sure how to feel. Part of me thinks this is really, really cool, because Ozzfest is awesome, and hey, so is free stuff.
Part of me thinks that the only bands who'll sign up for this are fucking nobody jerk-offs who don't even belong on second stage. :?

Edit: The only thing announced about '07 is the fact that it's free, those bands are last year's line-up. Also, they were fucking sick in concert, Disturbed especially. System of a Down sucked, Dragonforce was (as expected) outrageously gnarly.

Seriously, SOAD and Lacuna Coil put on one hell of a live show. Toss SYL in there and you'd have to be a lobotomized shitbag to call that a bad lineup.

I love SOAd, but they just didn't have it in Sacramento, man. I dunno. They sounded great, I'll give em that, but they just didn't perform. Disturbed, Hatebreed, Dragonforce... Even Lacuna Coil and AX7 to some extent, they all brought it, hard.
Edit: Seriously though, even most of the second stage bands fucking blew that place out. Last year was my first Ozzfest, and I gotta say, I was impressed.
That could still happen. I caught them at my last Ozzfest, and they were a late addition.
And god, they might be fucking SERIOUSLY OLD MEN, but the Slaytanic bros still brought the show of force.
SYL is one of the bands I wasn't talking about actually, I love Devin Townsend. SOAD is actually a guilty pleasure but don't tell anyone :oops:

Hatebreed? Disturbed? Avenged Sevenfold? Atreyu? Bleeding Through? Norma Jean?
There are a couple of other cool bands there towards the bottom like Iron Maiden, Sabbath if they're good anymore and Mastodon, maybe The Haunted too but lord god
Hatebreed, Disturbed, and Bleeding Through have been known to "bring the fucking thunder", sir, and I'll thank you not to impugn their reputation in such a way.
I talked to someone who went to see Unholy alliance in Taverse city (In Michigan if you don't know where it is) and he said that they absoluley were awesome. Still, the ticket might be free, but gas is far from free.
Dude, every Ozzfest has bad bands in it. You don't choose to NOT go for the bad, you choose to attend for the GOOD.
And Lacuna Coil can seriously fuck your shit up, when they're in top form. I loved their sound on CD, but was not ready for it live, at thousands of decibels, tearing that show to pieces.
Lacuna Coil isn't my favorite, which is weird, because I like some of Nightwish's stuff, and they have a kind of similar sound in some instances.

Do so. ToT started the whole "Opera chick on vox" thing in dark metal, and when they kicked Liv Kristine out, she joined Leaves' Eyes. Viking metal with an olde-English feel. Hard shit.

Like I said, they actually don't have a line-up. At all, actually. The bands will change as they go on tour, so if a big band is in the area they can play at Ozzfest.

I had tickets to see Ozzfest 05 with Maiden but it was canceled a week before the show. Maiden only plays like 5 shows a tour anymore.
