Bans only matter in super competitive pockets of the Internet anyway. When ranked battles get going they'll cause a hardcore Smogon to pop a blood vessel everytime.

I mean, spamming Spore is kind of lame. Just make a tanky Breloom, get it set up behind a a Substitute with Poison Heal going, and laugh all the way to the bank as your opponent can only hope he has a dude with Insomnia or similar.
Heck, I have a Breloom like that, and people get mad at it even with Sleep Clause.

There's been a Flat Battle thread on Smogon for weeks now. It's not like they arbitrarily pick things to ban because they hate the world or anything. Even Nintendo used Sleep Clause, which makes the flat battle rules all the more baffling.
It's not like Sleep Clause matters that much now, with the new sleep rules.
New rules?
Actually, not rules per se, but mechanics. If the number of turns it'll take your poké to wake up is two, and then you switch it out, when it goes back to the field it will wake up in two turns.

What RockinX said, not metagame rules but the sleep mechanics. First, it's possible for something to wake up on the turn you put it to sleep, along with (what seems like) a lessened overall length of time that sleep lasts. This is sort of countered by the fact that switching out a sleeping pokemon resets its sleep counter. Overall though, you can't guarantee a free turn to switch or set up with sleep anymore, which is unfortunate and lessens its importance.

So being slow, and taking a hit then putting the dude to sleep seems ideal then?
Because you really shouldn't have trouble with regular unless you have a terrible team selection. What have you been using?
Volcanora, Haxorus and Skarmory.
I know, I'm the worst. I am the opposite of a Pokemon Master.
What happened was that my Haxorus died to some ice attack, my Skarmory got flinched to death while setting up spikes and aerial ace, and Volcanora got stone edged in the face.

Was continuing on in Pokemon black, and I am right after the normal gym, although I haven't fought it yet. I just caught three fighting types, and I'm wondering which one (if any) are worth training up.
Any opinions on Timburr, Sawk, and Throh?

Sawk is da man. Dunno about Throh, but I assume similar awesomeness.

Some old cards I think are pretty broken, or can be abused. If anything, they probably just don't mesh well with new cards. And since you can't update cards, all you can do is ban them.
That, and they probably just want to make money selling new cards.

I waited until I got Meinfoo on Victory Road for a fighting poke, because Meinfoo is awesome.
So I just stated playing this a few days ago, and got sucked back in like I was in Middle school. Anyway, assuming this isn't the kinda question that annoys you guys, where can I find a Panpour? I'm only at the the quest that is just after the second Gym, and went looking in Pinwheel Forest because that was listed as a location in Bulbapedia. Every one of those shaky grass things just turned out to be an Audino. Seven encounters, all Audinos. Is there something I'm missing?
And I already got my elemental monkey from that dude at the Dreamyard, my starter was Tepig, so I got a Pansage, who is boss.
@38thDoe: I'm liking Sawk, though I just got him. At level 15, Sawk stats were higher than Throh's at the same level. I don't know if that helps at all.

I played Sawk through the end - as he didn't need to evolve, his stat gain was always solid. (And faster than Throh.) With that said, I really like Meinfoo's moveset now. I would not be ashamed to knock down the doors of the Elite 4 with one on my team.

I like breeding extras, I think if I do this more often people might have more pokemon to try out. Next time I'll breed something more useable hehe.

Doesn't May have waist and hips similar to a lady that's older than 10, too?

There's a chef on Route 6 that will buy them.
Jinkies! I had this thought as well.

EDIT: Sorry battery was dying. Maybe tomorrow.
For new tournaments, old cards are banned, but I would check eBay to see how much they fetch nowadays.

Let me know if you do this. I'd greatly appreciate one but I'm not sure if I would have anything that would be a fair trade for it.
