    Truffles are really good, right?

there's a place near me that has some new truffle mac and cheese with mushrooms and it sounds so goooood

    Um...depends.

How do you feel about dirt-tasting food?

    truffles, used correctly, are awesome.

I wish I was rich and could buy truffles and use them. I sometimes pretend by using truffle oil, but that's pretty pricy as well.

It's about $9 for a smallish bottle of white truffle oil here, at least at the supermarket. Know of any recipes that use truffles?

You need special tools because then they can sell special tools.

My dad is a DIY God though. He has one car that weighs about 3 tons, and he self manufactured a tool to compress the springs when he needed to change the springs.

The springs of a 3,000 kg car - home made spring compressor. Yup.

    Truffles are super-expensive, but amazing.

I use truffle oil all the time.

I was at a conference and they had live chefs who fried things in front of you.

So I decided on tomato and olive sauce with pasta and some more things.

And then scallops, but I didn't know what a scallop was.

    And then scallops were heaven.

I've never cooked scallops myself. Largely as they are fairly expensive and taste awful overcooked and distressing when undercooked. That said, I've also had them in a strange raw, minced form once. That was pretty good

I love cooking scallops but rarely bother 'cos japan isn't a massive fan.

Also, truffle oil is awesome with risotto (any kind, but especially mushroom), just drizzled on the top before serving. Yum.

More a factor of me working in a male dominated industry that is extremely conservative. And I was far from the only one taking clients there. I saw the Sony reps there and they were making it rain as the kids say.

My dad said something racist, so I called him out on it. Apparently he really doesn't trust anyone coming east of Germany. :? I wonder why he thinks this, there's no one from abroad working at his job and he only sees Eastern Europeans when they're on their way to work or doing groceries.

Like, I literally never had any trouble with any of the Polish dudes and girls in the village* and I don't think he has either.

Yeah it does tend to be. Most of the women in the industry tend to be in sales positions. And even then they are the minority there.
